I had a comment here a couple weeks ago where I thanked you for helping me reason with myself on leaving as well and it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be and I've now been enjoying my first 24 hours of FREEDOM thanks again Saddle Tramp. I've been watching quite a few of your videos now and gotta say you got it good man keep the videos coming and I'll be watching! Cheers to freedom
i'm 73 and any other so-called biker who disses your ride is not a real biker, a real biker will appreciate anything with 2 wheels no matter the make or size
Wayne Simpson I’m with you 100%, I don’t care what you ride, at least you are on the road and some of them are out there in the same bad weather as me, rain, dust storm or cold winter day, they see me and I see them. Yes there is an Air Force guy cruising a Honda grom from town to base and I wave to him as well. Granted it is only about 10 miles from the edge of town to the base but still a number of the spring, summer and fall guys are in their cars or trucks while I’m out in the rain with the Grom guy and others. I may catch a bit of back talk from the other guys who I ride with but I don’t care and give it right back. Especially the ones that I pass in their warm and dry cages.
I like what u said bout sportster man. That's what I ride and am always taking shit from friends with bigger bikes. I live bare bones and that's what I can afford and am thankful I have it and am able to ride.
My first 2 Harley's were sporters and I loved them, I ride a bagger now only because my wife hurt her back and couldn't take the beating anymore!! I should have kept one but I didn't so I'm looking for a sporty to have d-raked! I also love choppers.. H&R
I'm with ya dude. The bike world is filled with these macho man morons who equate penis size to engine size. In their peanut mind, if your bike is under 1400 cc, you're riding a girls bike. Bullshit! Lets see one of those macho man fucks ride a bare bones sporty cross country with no air ride, no bags, no GPS and no fancy fairing filled with a stereo and instruments. They are basically riding a 2 wheel car...who is the little girl??? Would I love to have a bagger? Sure, but that doesn't mean I would piss on other bikers riding smaller bikes. When i ride, I run across guys riding everything from Honda Rebels to full dress Cadillac's on two wheels and I wave to any rider I pass. We are all in the wind, that's what matters, not what you're riding. Save the macho man ego trips for the 1 percenter clubs where it belongs.
@@drippinglass In the 60's I wanted one the the Krate bikes so bad! A couple of the kids in my old neighborhood had them and they were every kids dream bicycle back then.
I've ridden motorcycles since I was 16 but never been interested in clubs or associations. For me it's still the soft siren call of the open road, the sound of tyres on hot tarmac and that feeling of being unencumbered by humdrum day to day life. The purity of motorcycling is setting your own pace and choosing your own path to wander. Anything else is just a distraction. Happy riding! 😊
ive been club free 10 years now and happy to forge my own path. i miss the friends i made but surprising they all disappeared after i left the club. guess they were not friends
Put. Very nice ly sir. To me, no chains round my mouth,I can say the fuck I want..no comeback. Go left right up down round n round n round. Even de ocky cokey. The secondary type of issues, for free. Sights sounds smells , all for free. I won't bore ya. Here's my favorites.Early ,morns clissning dew. Drops shocked dear faces orange sun spears through de trees all de birdies only one in de city birds butts legs boddies will just kill ya. Whatch out boys.
I spent 20 years buying, fixing and flipping metrics and I enjoyed almost all of them. Still like em. Last year I sold my VTX 1800 and bought a 1200 Sporty however. My first HD. I fell in love and have never looked back. I enjoy riding it so much, every time I get on its like the first ride. Thanks for sharing your testimony brother. I was saved 22 years ago and have been a full time pastor for 8 years. I learned what true brotherhood is too. Ride safe and God bless.
I had a vtx1300c, needless to say I traded it in for a 20 Roadglide and never looked back but I wished I’ve keep but you know my other half said “ if you’re going to get the new bike , then you have to let go of the other one 😢” so there it is , story of my life 😅
Amen brother. What you said was true it's not the threads you wear or collars Wear, but it's the blood of Jesus that makes you a true brother........ If I never see you in person I'll see you when we get home.
Indeed we are our father cares and watches over us each and every one of us , some more than ever (l do keep the shepherd busy ba ha) god bless from this old school biker
"The bagger is a girl's bike." HAHAHA. This Sportster rider approves this message. MC life? No issues with those living it, but I already have enough rules and politics in my life. Thanks for another good video!
You hit the nail on the head with that one. I’m 67 now, and I suppose that has something to do with it, but I too am done with rules, politics, and structure of almost any kind. I’ve been riding motorcycles for just over two years now, almost 29,000 miles. I haven’t planned any of the trips other than just having a general direction in mind. It’s the freedom to have an adventure, and a $2,500, 15 year old, motorbike is just my current tool of choice.
I too joined an MC here in MO and although they are a great group of standup folks, I just realized I wasn’t much of a joiner. You see, I’m a retired vet and I thought I wanted that veteran brotherhood to last forever. The 1st problem is, it don’t. The next is the politics in regards to other MCs became so nonsensical to me that I shook my head and rethought things. So, I decided if I was going to ride, it was going to be for me and my family & not for a patch. Also, although I love HD, I have ridden so many different makes that I’m simply not brand loyal. So, I’m selling my 16 Indian & my 12 CVO Ultra to purchase a high tech BMW 1600 B & an old EVO powered HD to tinker with. I also could give 2 turds about image. Anyhow, just watched 3 of your tubes & enjoyed the heck out of em. Keep it up my friend.
Seen some people in clubs, that once that patch isnt there, their brothers ain't either. If your only a brother, because of a patch, your living the wrong lifestyle. I got bros, bros I would die for, and they the same. A patch should be, along with a club, if chosen to do so, should just be a way of conforming to something together. Shouldn't be something that makes brothers, brothers. Bonds, experiences, good and bad times, that makes brothers.
Apparently we have an army of Christian soldiers and like military soldiers not always outwardly visible, we have a cloud of witnesses with us who know and love Jesus. Did my heart good too. We never ride alone. God bless you and yours bro. Cya in Heaven.
"Almost weeping" Really guy? Why would you be weeping over a guy riding his motorcycle talking about his religion? You need to be a little tougher than that man.
I really enjoy your words and your faith. Nearing 70 years old, I've been in several civic clubs and church groups and for the most part, they were good but it seems politics always finds its way into the top priorities groups. I'm a devout Christian and I've always tried to live like Jesus is beside me - which he is! I never hate and I try to believe in the good in everyone. Please keep up the good work. I've just discovered your videos and look towards seeing many more. On the material side, I've owned many bikes over the years of all sizes and styles from different countries. I've loved all of them in one form or another. Right now, I'm riding an old Sporty 883 with lots of patina. I maintain the mechanical parts because I like to get where I'm going but the bling is not my priority. It's like having a favorite pair of old shoes or boots, the older they get, the more I like them.
Brother, I am so glad to have come across this video. Blessings to you for standing firm in your faith and declaring it to the world. You can't live unless you die first. Safe riding, brother, to you and your friends.
Damn straight, Mr! Sporties are the best bikes. So much character as well. You hear nothing but endless whinging from people about metal mounted engines like in the 1998 Sporties. But those are the reasonsI love Harlies. All the rattles, shakes, vibes clatters and rumbles. So much character
God bless and be safe out there SaddleTramp. To date, I've not ridden with the CMA but I've had nothing but good experiences when I've come across them going down the road, at stops, at charity events. I joined and left an MC for some of the same reasons you state. Experience and time has shown that the people with whom you ride, to ride, for the ride are the ones you will bond with tighter and longer.
Been watching a bunch of videos lately, and yours are some of the best. Thank you. I'm an older rider that after almost 30 years of being without, just recently got back to riding again. My first trip out I know I over did it a bit. Went for about an hour and a half and was hurting like crazy later that day, but I had a smile on my face you couldn't have knocked off with a 2x4. Didn't go with friends or a group, was just me with my thoughts and wherever my front wheel pointed. For me that was more than enough. Many things you talked about in this video rang true with me. While it would be nice to find a group to ride with...to share with. For the time being though, I'm once again content with open road and miles sliding by. Roll on.
I knew a guy years ago who rode cross country on a Honda 750. No bags, no fairing, nothing, a bare bones totally stock bike. This was in the 70's. He rode from Chicago to Seattle and back. Only issue he had was a tire. I guess that made him a pussy too since he only rode a 750.....eyeroll.
Ya Rich I had a 1969 1st year cb750 and a couple of Triumph Bonneville's from the 60's a Yamaha 650 all of these before my first Harley and rode them for weeks cross country.
@@robsmith6403 I had a 1988 Shadow VLX 600 and it I loved it. Unfortunately, my lower back couldn't take the punishment from slouching with the forward controls. I had to sell it to get my current Sporty with mid-controls. The Shadow is still going strong, though. It's being ridden regularly by the friend I sold it to. I have a standing invitation to ride it any time I want. It's power is almost as much as my XL883. The Shadow engine is way over-engineered. It's the same as the Shadow 750 except for the bore & stroke. Fantastic bike.
I'd don't understand the MC mentality. Why would you take something as free spirited as motorcycling and choose to enslave yourself with more government style rules?
LOL you said it all, without saying too much. The truth is, the business is all drug business. And if you call yourself a Christian and join a MC drug business, then you surely do not know Christ. The leader of MC's is Satan. Hell, everyone knows that.
@Cris Topher I understand Sir, Christianity is always hated by those who love their sins more than they do God. And those who are atheist or Satanist love themselves and their sins more than God. Which always leads to the same tragic outcome, early death and an empty life. It's freedom of choice & I'm down with that.
You are right I’m 20 an bought my first Harley Davidson a 2019 iron 1200 an the first day I got it my friends dad said I got a girls bike an told him if anyone riding a girls bike it’s you with all the amenities on a damn bike
One of my best interactions with a MC was a CMA . Meeting by chance at a moto restaurant w/outside dining .We BS'ed about bikes and road trips and when we (Wife and I ) were about to leave he asked if he could have a quick prayer w/us . As a Christian I was honored and happy to share that moment and will remember forever w/fondness .
Well said man. I think that's why I've never officially joined a group / MC. Never could get how it's so easy come, easy go. I want to be apart of something greater and I'll continue my search on two wheels. Be blessed and ride safe my brother in Christ.
videos like this one make me extremely grateful to be part of such a great community, even more so to have met you in person. You are remarkable guy Corey, thank you for putting these together, it is always such a joy to watch your vids
After 37 years of in and out of multiple clubs, I'm still a member (life) of the AMA, and the ONLY patch on the back of my cut is one that says INDEPENDENT. Good for you, stick to you're convictions, and be safe. By the way I stand 6 foot 4 and ride a 883 with apes on it, coolest little bike I've ever had, and I still have a bunch in the garage👍
@@NdaKeekz first club I joined was in 91, that club broke off into two separate organizations with the same idea, I stuck with the original members until it eventually just faded away into practically the end of its existence, went independent, joined another organization that was more about themselves and getting recognition than anything else, not for me , went independent again and will stay that way...I don't need a patch on my back for any kind of self recognition, as a matter of fact I very rarely even wear one anymore unless I need to carry extra cigarettes... I've been riding for 38 years, I ride professionally, and basically pay no mind to any of the clubs out there unless they may need some assistance if broke down and/or have some sort of charity run....so to some this up, I really don't need to wear something to make me feel I have to belong...thank you for responding to my post a year later with your concerns about my apparel that I wear and hope to maybe catch you on a run or the road someday, I'll buy the coffee.
@@NdaKeekz hey, no problem, I actually still have the membership plaque they gave me back in 91 hanging on my wall, and tons of run pictures I bring out sometimes to relive the old days, the kids they look at them also seeing me younger and then kinda laugh at me and call me a BOOMER!!😂😂 have a good one and stay and ride safe buddy..
Bought my first Harley in 1985, 76 XLH 1000 bicentennial model. Still have it. Ride it occasionally. Have heard the same crap over the years. Usually from the guy who has a big twin that he has financed for 10 years. Mine is and has been paid for since 87. BTW, these were usually the same people who disrespected me back in the day because I rode H-D.
Do like I do, I ride my bike to the bowling alley with my bowling league shirt on ! Colors and all, I even got my nickname on the front. They call me Ten Pin ! lol, ride on !
Okay, now I’m hooked. I also have been patched in several riding establishments. And I was a patched CMA RIDER and the chaplain of the chapter. But I just had to give all the patch scene up totally. Sounds like we are brothers in the flesh because I ride long rides and usually solo. Lived in Texas, Louisiana and now Tennessee. Just been a lone dog most all my life but your testimony is genuine and very effective to me. Be safe saddletramp. Maybe one day we’ll meet
Your a good dude...I watched your video about point change on your old Ironhead...reminded me of my first HD an AMF Sportster circa 78...I was 20 years old then and man did I love that little bike (most of the time) but typically I would find myself adjusting the pushrods on a hot engine on the side of a country road. I remember riding it at night from my girlfriends house and loving how the night air smelled, the rumble and the lights on those two gauges. So now its 37 years later and Im still riding..my big black bagger and my ole trusty nightrain...they still take me back to those nights so long ago. Peace and good health brother.
I rode in a club for a bunch of years and when it became too political, I got out. No more for me. My next door neighbor is a BACA member which is a good hearted club but when you get the full patch, you have to make 85% of the rides. I want to ride when I want to and where I want to. No more clubs for me.
As I think on some of the best rides I had, the best one was a night ride through MN lake country, back roads, no traffic, full moon, perfect warm temp. Even had a honking train. It was just one of those perfect rides, on perfect roads on a perfect summer night, with a friend who invited me to his club's meeting. Maybe the best is to befriend people who are in clubs and not join.
Dang brother you made so many good points. I don’t think many people truly understand what it means to love someone. You nailed it right on the head, as usual.
I was a CMA members for years, President of a chapter in Ohio. Just like so many things in life people got in the way of a good thing. Ego's, pride, jealousy even beliefs drove me to make the tuff decision to leave the patch behind. I really enjoy the independent lifestyle and still see a few of the club guys from time to time. One thing I always said was "Wind therapy don't care what your riding" it all feels good. Live to Die Die to Live
Just Re-watched this. Very Powerful. One Father. One Son. I've only been riding a year and the group I ride with work together here in Georgia. The-- I LOVE YOU BROTHER thing goes on here as well. My Convictions most days get me as well. The HE's NOT RIDING WITH US BECAUSE gets me.
I just got my first sporty. It’s a 75. Been riding for a while now but never had my own Harley. If you ever make it up to Wa, our home is your home and we’ll have to go for a ride. To God be the glory!
It’s refreshing to know there are guys like yourself out there. I used to do nothing but bar hop on my bike, then I gave my life to Christ and am a current member of the CMA. Before I would not even ride a 1000 miles a year, now probably 12,000 a year! Got 45,000 on my 2017 ultra and would love to build a chopper again. God bless you and your channel, bless your better half also 😎
I stumbled on your channel by the seeing the Swapping 2012 for 94 Evo Vid, which interested me. I quickly got hooked so have been watching a bunch of your videos and then watched this. I appreciated the mini Gospel presentation and your boldness of sharing the love and salvation offered through Jesus Christ. It was awesome. Thank you.
I ride with my lady. I ride mine she rides hers, used to ride HD’s now we ride v4s. Hers a magna , mine a vmax and that’s good enough for me she won’t let me down, I won’t let her down. V4s pass just about everything but a gas station lol. We’ve been sober 10yrs and counting 🏍👍
GOD BLESS you BROTHER !! Hope we cross paths someday , I was 27 when the Lord saved my soul. I NEVER HAVE TO RIDE ON THIS ROAD OF LIFE ALONE AGAIN. I have trouble finding people to ride my bike with because they know I go to church and preach as well. When I ride I feel as close to GOD as I do in church sometimes, I meditate and converse with him and sometimes a certain road and the peace in my heart just brings a joy unspeakable to tears even !! ride on bro. ride on!!
M R True! And no matter what group or tribe we join there's always that one or two guys puffin their chests out tryin to play big boss. I enjoy my solitude
When I was 15 years old .. I put a GYT Kit on my 1974 Yamaha YZ-80-A The GYT Kit came with a better crank Needle bearing.. Cylinder , head , Piston , expansion chamber silencer .. and a 24 mm Mikuni to replace a 16 mm Kehien car.. it more than tripled my Horse power after doing some port work .. The Mikuni came with a 180 main jet.. First hot day on a sand track .. I burned a hole in the Piston.. Then got a Memo from Yamaha suggesting using a 200 main jet.. With all the port work I did ,, it ran best with a 220 main jet .. but I did try a 230 main jet too ..
Just subscribed. Thanks for the comments my brother. The closest brothers in the world are the true sons of the Most High God. Not an earthly club association, but we are born of another kingdom. Scotty is a good friend of mine. We stay in contact by phone. He's carved out a very unique bikerstyle over the last 25 years. Love that brother.
I rode a hard tail . I've ridden Sportsters and I rode em hard. I've lived my life the way I've wanted for pretty much all of it. My beautiful wife led me to Christ many years ago. We ride a Heritage Softail now so that we can go on longer trips. Never wanted to belong to an MC. We meet lots of nice folks of all stripes while we are out on the road. We are only here by grace. Thanks for your videos. See you at MMM next weekend.
Regarding the jets in the carb, my 2005 XL883 had a 42 idle jet and a 175 main jet. It would cough at low rpm's before the motor was completely warmed up, so I changed the 42 to a 45 and that fixed the problem. Since then, I switched my stock air filter assembly for a free breathing TC Bros kit and went for a ride on a cooler than normal day. It didn't cough at low rpm's but it was anemic in all rpm's. After watching this video, I'm convinced that I need to go to a 48 idle jet and a 180 main jet for "more authority". I'll let you know how it works out. I keep watching this video for the message and the sound of the Tramp. Thanks!
UPDATE for the above change in jets. I replaced both as described and went for a long ride today which was a very gray and windy 55 degrees F. The bike has regained its lost authority. Not only does it have it again, it commands it! Not only does it accelerate aggressively, it cruises very smoothly at low and high rpms. I tried to make the engine "cough" and couldn't get it to do it. The bike runs perfectly with the new breather kit and upgraded jets. To repeat what I did, I now have a 48 pilot/idle jet and a 180 main jet. The idle air/fuel mixture is at 1 3/4 turns out. My rpm's are at 1200 as per the owner's manual. My 2005 XL883 is happy again!
Good to hear of a man of God , who enjoys riding a motorcycle for the love of it . I like meeting bikers . But I seem to prefer riding alone. think it’s because I find it easier to connect with God when I’m alone , but then again that’s just my perception ! God bless
Well awesome I guess. I’ll have to say I’ve ridden for years, and when you’re young and not beat up, those sportsters and customs are fun to ride but as you get older and want to ride long trips with the fam, those girl bikes are wonderful for the bones. And I bet Jesus wouldn’t judge them nor the fellow riding one for it. Ride what you ride, have fun. Just saying.
just bought my first bike this fall. A 1967 sportster electric start and started a frame up restoration on it. Can NOT wait to hit the asphalt this spring
I really enjoyed what you had to say and even more so where your heart is. Starting to enjoy your channel more and more as I get further into it. May God continue to bless you, your channel, and your family each and every day. God is Gr8!
Thanks for another video, looks great, and also great to hear the message of Good News of peace and salvation through Jesus Christ. Keep up good work bro!!!
Brother it’s good to hear someone talk of the lord and I found your channel from my love of motorcycles but you got me to subscribe from hearing you talk of your faith and love of the lord, I’m in a point of life where I’m very twisted but hearing what you said has helped me in my way of thinking. Thank you very much for this video and keep them coming
I have been riding for a loooong time. I had a couple M.C.'s try to recruit me years ago, but I have never been much of a joiner. I also have never cared much what other people ride. So long as your in the wind and what your riding works for you, more power to ya brother. Knees in the breeze is my only disease!!!
God Bless you brother in Christ, Scooter brother too! Ain’t it Great to ride alone knowing,, that we’re not Alone!!! Hallelujah!! Enjoyed the ride wit’cha brother, sounded like an ole Shovel to me!
In 1978, on a beautiful sunny day, I was riding my Honda 350 (first bike)......Had my sunglasses on and just cruising along when all of sudden a dude in a truck, stuck out his head out yelled at the top of his lungs, "get a Harley"! I wasn't offended or anything. Was kinda funny.....Months later, I got to test drive my wife's cousins Sportster, and understood! Wow, I said to myself! However, back when, Harleys, were pieces of junk not to mention oil leakers etc and to top it off, owned by a bowling ball company....I stopped riding for some 32 years, as my wife was a homemaker so I could not take a chance of getting injured etc... Never forgetting that rumble on my scrotum all those past years, finding out the Davidsons bought there family company back from the bowling ball co (AMF really?) haha and thanks to prez Reagans intervention to help it survive.....And I was nearing retirement! All the stars were lining up! I would lick my chops, at the latter part of my years of work, when I saw all those "Johnny come lately fellows (as I refer to them now haha) riding those Harleys and other bikes also and would just say to myself, "gonna get me one"....And can qualify as well as quantify that statement (johnny come latelys), because I did ride in the rain, sleet and snow in my younger years, unlike my "tough guy" (wanna be's with tattoos etc haha) counterparts did, knowing full well they DO NOT RIDE, not even with itty bitty sprinkles coming down! Haha 5 years fast forward, from my retirement date I purchased a 2014 much awaited Sportster! Even taking on a job as a janitor to pay for it! God is good.....
In the late 60's and early 70's i had a 1941 45 Cubic Inch Sports Solo all my friends had Harley's. A guy we knew got a 1965 305 Honda Dream and we all made fun of him until we started riding with him. That 305 Dream would run the balls off our old Harley's and had way more top end than my 45 Cu In. I never made fun of any other bike after that but we still got more girls than Bob on his Honda. The problem with Biker groups is you end up on the FBI domestic terrorist list even if it is not recognized as a criminal gang.
I agree on the point being called "brother". I hung around an MC where that term, in my opinion, was used WAY too freely. The depth of what I thought it meant, contrasted greatly with how members actually acted towards one another.
Here's the thing about the Sportster: It's too damn small for two-up riding. It just is. That damn passenger seat is *tiny*. And Sportsters look so goofy with huge seats ang big gas tanks on them - you might as well just buy a damn SuperGlide. That said, to single ol' me, the Sporty is the best bike ever. I'm on my third - all 883s. I've taken my second one from Florida to Washington State *twice*. Luckily it had the 3.3 gallon tank. My latest one has the 2.2, and I really need to find a "King" tank for it. I can do 100 miles on this one, but it's cutting it close...too close. Oh yeah, you can't beat 55-60 mpg on a Big Twin. But that's what all of my Sportsters have gotten. (883 and don't go too crazy-rich on the jetting.) Also, on a Sportster the distance from the seat to the mid-pegs is very short, forcing us old guys into a bend of the knees/hip that is just uncomfortable on long runs. Highways help, but you still gotta shift and stop. You *could* go with forwards, but I like the mids because they're more, um, "sporty." (I do have highways, btw, and passenger pegs and I use all three.) Oh yeah, I also own a Dyna Super Glide. It's..nice, yeah, but honest to God, I enjoy riding the Sportster more. It does remind me of my original Honda 350. And, considering how heavy I am now compared to when I was sixteen, the power-to-weight ratio is probably about the same, which is why they feel so similar...and fun! End of Sportster sermon: Church dismissed ;-) Rock on, Saddle Tramp - love your videos!
I also have a Sporty 883 with mid-pegs and it's the most comfortable bike I've ever owned. I'm 70 years old and this is by far the best bike I've ever had for my back which has a herniated disc that presses on my sciatic nerve. Most of you guys already know the extreme and constant pain this causes. Forward controls limit my rides to 30 minutes max. My mid-controls let me ride as long as I want regardless of highway cruising or screaming through the mountain twisties. I don't pass judgment on forward controls, they just don't work for me. As far as the 883 being a smaller engine and running at higher revs at the same speed as a 1200, that doesn't bother me a bit. My riding buddies have a Sportster 1200 XL custom and a Road King Twin Cam 88. I don't have any problem keeping up with them anywhere. I've owned a bunch of motorcycles in the last 56 years from different countries and in different styles. My 2005 XL883 standard is by far the most fun bike I've ever owned and I get more "smiles per mile" from it than from all the rest combined. There isn't a day that doesn't go by that I don't check the weather to see if I will go riding. The best part of this video is the sound of the Tramp with its 883. Love the tramp. It's not my style but it ain't my bike. I still love it because it makes its human accessory happy. Extra comment on my Sporty: it's the last year the Sportster had the straight-cut gears in the transmission before going to helical-cut gears. H-D says they did it to reduce the "noise" of the transmission. Really? That is not "noise" to me. That sound is just as important as the engine and exhaust sounds which are all music to my ears. And who doesn't love the Harley "clunk" when going into first gear. It's never missed a shift. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I've done a lot upgrades and changes to my silver-gray and black bike (Soon to be known as "Old Gray" or "Hi-Yo Silver" -- not sure which, yet.) but she still looks 99% stock. It has very little chrome with its flat gray engine and black frame which is perfect for me because I don't like "bling". I don't polish it because it interferes in my riding time. The only thing I clean is the bugs on my windshield. (Yeah, I'm one of those guys.) However, I'm a fanatic about maintenance and fluids.
I tried to join a MC , but when I showed up on my Ducati wearing my shirt that reads "the best thing In the Harley shop window is the reflection of my Ducati, they said I should look for another club 😎😀😀😀😀🏍🍺
Rayford, Ray Siegel I know for fact a Harley engineer bought 1, an 05 and he completely disassembled the motor and that’s all I heard. Gotta love the v4s. Awesome power coming from riding Harley’s to riding a vmax that max revs 10grand scarey at first. That seat on the max is to stop you from sliding off, I have full boost edition 👍
great testimony mate....really enjoyed listening to your story as a fellow ratbag who loves Jesus. Im in the music business down here in NZ, but have spent a bit of time in your great country. Have owned a number of HD's going back to the early nineties and ran with a fairly hardcore crowd. Thankfully the Lord pulled me back into the fold, I raised my two kids on my own, now teenagers.....I haven't had a bike for a number of years due to family first but I know I'll be out there again one day soon. Its so cool to hear people like yourself who put God first! All the very best to you mate, have subbed your channel. Blessings man..
I feel you on this.. I to had a lot of hang ups within the club life. Man is it rough at firsts not being in the club when that's all you live and breath for so long . The old school bikers even told me that getting out is a good choice because the club life isn't what it once was. The new generation has lost the path of what a brother truly is. ML&R
Six minutes in before he gets to the topic...Anyway, I was a patched member of a 'club' and found it to be drama-filled. Had to leave to get away from it.
Saw your ironhead build and stumbled on more videos. Glad I saw this one. My dad was the president of the CMA Orange country ca chapter for awhile.. Steve. I lost the faith but we’ve been trying to build a 76 iron head chop
Thank you for clearing that up about the sportster!! You only hear that out of the HD people. If a man rides up on agoldwing and the other on a rebel he just says nice bike..yeah ive seen women on road kings ,fatboys, heritage guess Harley's are a girls bike..just found your channel.. Love it!!
I’m a CMA member in Columbus Ohio and I love my chapter brother’s and sister’s. We are a very active chapter a stay active. It’s great to see you riding with them patch or no patch. Stay Safe and keep the rubber side down. 😎👍👍

@@SaddleTrampTV I just got a Bad Dad rear fender for my 2007 softail custom and im new to working on this bike. Is there any instructions on removing the rear fender ? I want to do it myself but do it correct . If you have any words of wisdom I would really thank you for it.
@@wesleyhenderson5958 Well when it comes to stuff like that, I would note where all the fasteners are first. You'll more than likely need to remove the rear wheel first to get the wiring out of the way.

I've been watching quite a few of your videos now and gotta say you got it good man keep the videos coming and I'll be watching! Cheers to freedom

@@Youza899 well it aint a skateboard - of course its a damn bike, just a little one

Right on, man. Right on.

About the same situation here. Semper fi
Jesus is the way brother! Spend most of my time alone on the road With Jesus he has never left me or forsaken me! No better friend!

I ride because I love motorcycles. The end.
Amen!!
Riding is a privilege, that only the rider understands.
Yeah, it's like asking a dog why he sticks his head out of the car or truck window when going down the road. His smile says it all!
Roll on.
Sporsters are great touring bikes. In the late 60's I toured on a 650 BSA Thunderbolt. Just depends on how it's set up
I like the bagger/sportster comment on which one is truly a woman’s bike.
I rode a 600 shadow through 3 states 👍
I get the brotherhood not the rules and club politics
It's the alleged BS brotherhood. It is BS.

LOL you said it all, without saying too much. The truth is, the business is all drug business. And if you call yourself a Christian and join a MC drug business, then you surely do not know Christ. The leader of MC's is Satan. Hell, everyone knows that.
Not all MC’s sell dope.

So you're a club hopper who still has to wear some type of cut for self satisfaction even though you are now a solo rider?

Bless you brother, need more blokes like you in Australia on bikes who speak the truth.
You thinking in terms of Jesus or MC's?
Truth be told, the bottom line is that it doesn’t matter what two or three wheels you ride so long as you’re able to ride!

Very nice to start y'all ride with a prayer to Jesus can't go wrong that way
Regarding the jets in the carb, my 2005 XL883 had a 42 idle jet and a 175 main jet.
God bless
I ride with CMA in New Zealand. Thanks for your honesty. God bless you.

I'd like to shake you by the hand brother, keep up the good work.
I have been riding for a loooong time. I had a couple M.C.'s try to recruit me years ago, but I have never been much of a joiner. I also have never cared much what other people ride. So long as your in the wind and what your riding works for you, more power to ya brother. Knees in the breeze is my only disease!!!
All love man, great outlook. God bless!
God Bless you brother in Christ, Scooter brother too!
Ain’t it Great to ride alone knowing,, that we’re not Alone!!! Hallelujah!!
Enjoyed the ride wit’cha brother, sounded like an ole Shovel to me!
Amen brother if you're up around wentzville, mo on a weekend look me up and I'll go riding with you I'm kinda in the same boat as you happy trails
"Your brother is ALWAYS your brother no matter what". You've always been a brother to me, and I will always be to you. I love you man
In 1978, on a beautiful sunny day, I was riding my Honda 350 (first bike)......Had my sunglasses on and just cruising along when all of sudden a dude in a truck, stuck out his head out yelled at the top of his lungs, "get a Harley"!
Haha
5 years fast forward, from my retirement date I purchased a 2014 much awaited Sportster! Even taking on a job as a janitor to pay for it! God is good.....
I enjoy watching Scotty’s channel and can’t figure out why he doesn’t have more subs. I’m hoping his channel grows and blows up real soon.
I'm born again Christian looking for somebody to ride with
I've seen this video before but I came across it and had to watch it again. I completely understand where you're coming from man. Excellent video.☝️
Did a 5,000 mi. trip in ' 83 on a 1980 XLS sportster. You can do it. Cheers
I rode from Chicago to Flagstaff, AZ and back on a Sporty! So much fun!
Both you guys ROCK!!!
P.S. Thanks for sharing your faith. God bless you my brother.
I ride alone.. My motorcycle name is SCOUT ✌️✌️😁😁😁😁
(883 and don't go too crazy-rich on the jetting.)
Also, on a Sportster the distance from the seat to the mid-pegs is very short, forcing us old guys into a bend of the knees/hip that is just uncomfortable on long runs. Highways help, but you still gotta shift and stop. You *could* go with forwards, but I like the mids because they're more, um, "sporty." (I do have highways, btw, and passenger pegs and I use all three.)
Oh yeah, I also own a Dyna Super Glide. It's..nice, yeah, but honest to God, I enjoy riding the Sportster more. It does remind me of my original Honda 350. And, considering how heavy I am now compared to when I was sixteen, the power-to-weight ratio is probably about the same, which is why they feel so similar...and fun! End of Sportster sermon: Church dismissed ;-)
Rock on, Saddle Tramp - love your videos!
Amen. There is a friend that is closer than a brother. My Saviour has never let me down !
I tried to join a MC , but when I showed up on my Ducati wearing my shirt that reads "the best thing In the Harley shop window is the reflection of my Ducati, they said I should look for another club 😎😀😀😀😀🏍🍺
Arthur McHugh 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🏍 that’s how I feel with my vmax too and my ladies magna, we love v4s.
They just couldn't take the joking around or you even being serious, they couldn't take the friendly competition.
@@anonymouslegion4928,
The VMax stsrted out as a Harley-Davidson, so they should appreciate it.
My 'back in the day' was '76 to '95; with regards to MC's. Your story resonates with me. Well said my Brother. All the best from East Coast Canada.
Were any of them one percenter clubs?
great testimony mate....really enjoyed listening to your story as a fellow ratbag who loves Jesus. Blessings man..
thank you for the break down on a sportster being a girls bike....love it..
Awesome testimony...btw, I am CMA and love what we do (but we can always do more for our Father above if we choose to)!
New sub really enjoying your videos. Just curious how do you ride with out gloves
I don't wear gloves either unless it's cold out
In the summer time.
SaddleTramp if you go down your hands will prob hit ground first, be safe out there.
Check out Icon Pursuit gloves. They fit...like a glove.
Love it!!
This is my favorite video. We've never met but you are my Brother.
God bless you.
One way 100 miles so total ride equals um 200 miles looooool
I’m a CMA member in Columbus Ohio and I love my chapter brother’s and sister’s. We are a very active chapter a stay active. It’s great to see you riding with them patch or no patch. Stay Safe and keep the rubber side down. 😎👍👍
Thank you, Mark
I ain't knocking anybody's ride, but some of those monsters look like easychairs with wheels.
Hey man . I’m just bought my 1st bike in july. I just wanna say , I really enjoyed this video and listening to you speak. Thank you man
Don't diss baggers. One day your back will tell you, well that was fun but I'm done.😵😂😎
By that time, I'll buy a boat and go fishing. And the channel will be called PaddleTramp. Lol
Tim Mix i feel like he will just get a springer seat...
Words of wisdom and inspiration for a Saturday morning.
Jesus had other plans for you just like he had more important things for me.
The World starts to look different once
Jesus starts opening your eyes don't it?
Indeed it does.
@@SaddleTrampTV I got it done in two hours easy job. Im not used to working on newer bikes with all this computer crap. My 65 pan was a whole lot easier
not all this crap under the seat and the wires from HELL lol...
@@wesleyhenderson5958 Right?? When I brought that evo home, one of the first things I did was pull the seat off to take a look at all the BS that isn't there as it was there on the 103.
Finally I found a no bullshit, old school vlog, sweet, look forward to your vlogs
