- Join us for the latest round-up of wrestling game news including all the latest on the fan backlash surrounding the WWE 2K24 Pat McAfee DLC Pack, new footage of the Elite Hulk Hogan and Elite Rock Action Figures, WWE in Call of Duty & more!
The main talking point of today's video is an update on the controversy surrounding the Pat McAfee DLC Pack which was originally scheduled to release on July 24th before it was pushed back to July 31st just a day before release.
The delay of the pack has continued to cause backlash from players over the decision to include Pat McAfee's co-hosts (Connor, Darius, AJ & Tye) over new NXT talent like Sol Rucca and Jakara Jackson, who game files indicate were originally planned to appear.
Continuing to fuel the fire Tye Schmit called the NXT roster a bunch of losers that nobdoy wanted to play as, leading to NXT's general manager Shawn Michaels and NXT faction Gallus challenging the group to a match.
It's unclear if the comments are part of a work to have the group appear on TV to promote the DLC, or if WWE are trying to make the best of a bad situation.
Regardless, for players looking forward to the DLC this video also contains previews of each man's entrance!

Regarding the Elite Hulk Hogan and The Rock, so far i've only been able to confirm locker codes in the US action figures from Target, but if I hear anything for other countries i'll update this comment / the description.
Does it have to have a sticker on it saying locker code inside? I only see hogan on target. I saw the others on walmart though... so confusing.
I had two codes and idk what either unlocked. It didn't confirm anything

2 things that I noticed about these entrances:
1) Their billed hometowns are just the state that they’re from, and not a city within it. (Ex: Alexa Bliss being billed from Columbus, Ohio)
2) All of the announcements from Samantha Irvin sounded like they were done in a single take… which could’ve been just a warm-up. 😅
I said it before, but the fact that Pat’s friends are getting added before Jade and Kairi get added (with Kairi having a chance of not coming with a Kabuki Warrior entrance for her and Asuka) is just 💀💀💀
2K really needs to hire some new management

From a business sense, Jade Cargill, Nia Jax, Kairi & etc being made the 4th DLC Pack is their attempt to make the WWE 2K24 Game Cycle longer.
I'm sure the executives at Take-Two Interactive see the feedback of the annual WWE 2K game being "dead" around August.
I was actually impressed with the cod models they did. i feel like maybe 2k should just call up those devs and hire them on for future wwe games

Well, hopefully, 2K realizes that 2k25 needs a new graphics engine with the COD models looking superior.
Well that's only because COD just has a better engine to work with. Of course it's gonna look better. Doesn't mean they're gonna completely redesign the engine. Though judging by the graphics changing every few years (2K15 to 17, 18 to 20, 22 to 24)who knows?
You want them to design an entirely new graphics engine in less than a year? Are you serious?
Jesus, its always super easy to tell when someone has no actual idea what an engine really is, and how much work goes into designing one.
Even NBA 2K looks better than WWE 2K, and Visual Concepts have been doing both for a while now with Yuke's gone from WWE 2K after 2020/2021. There's no excuse as to why they can't use the same visuals for 2025 or 2026, unless the engine is somehow different.
@JaitsuStudios it's always easy to tell when someone can't read because no one mentioned designing a new engine in less than a year.
@nzuzovilakazi901 I don't expect them to pull a redesigned engine out their ass, but judging by how some of the character models are so old, there's room for a lot of improvement. Bayley shouldn't have the body type she had in 2k20.

Imo I'd rather have a ruthless aggression dlc or attitude era dlc. A better looking Doctor of Thuganomics, RKO Legend Killer, The Animal Batista, Hollywood Rock, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas. That's already way better than what we got.

The Pat Show DLC imo is the worst 2k DLC pack of all time because having only Pat in the game is cool but his friends nah I don’t care about them or even like them at all. That pack could’ve easily been a Nxt Pack they could’ve but the Meta 3 (I know is 4 but dar is already in the game), Lola Vice & Lexis king. I’m tired of 2k putting people most people don’t care about like MGK last year and now Pat friends also Post Malone (I don’t dislike him but cmon did he really have too be in the game they could’ve put a Nxt star)
Both MGK & Post Malone at least had a good reason for why they appeard in the games unlike Pat's friends.

Now thinking about it there’s no really wrong answer but yes I’m aware Tyson came out of retirement for 2020 and will have a match with Paul later on this year so in retrospect there’s no wrong answer honestly but when I think of boxing the first name I think of is Ali than Tyson but that’s just me.
@donavinrodriguez6288 Fair, I also believe that Tyson has done more in the 2000s that's not boxing related like his Adult swim show but due to Ali's death in the 2000s I understand why he did not do as much as Tyson did, but as you said it is up to personal opinion as they are undeniably the most famous Boxers of all time so it could go either way.

This is like having playing Madden and fans getting wrestlers in the DLC. I really wish that we got NXT or Legends in this pack but at the end of the day it is what is is 💯
Now if Roman Reigns, Goldberg, or Brock Lesnar were in Madden, that wouldn’t be as bad considering they HAVE done football.

This is basically a new moves and entrance pack.
Only less. 20 new moves, a chunk of which is just the same move from different positions (im not complaining about that, but it should still really only count as one). The old moves packs averaged around 40 to 50 new moves. So they're selling you less than what we would've gotten and expecting us to be greatful for it.
At least we can make then a jobber at Universe for building a nxt star 😂

Although when DLC pack 3 is coming this Wednesday and I'm not very happy about DLC pack 3 in WWE 2K24. But, at the end of the day, I wish I want to see more legends in WWE 2K24, but it'd just didn't happen. That's OK! Cause next year of WWE 2K25, I STILL want DLC Legends like Women's Legends Pack like: Torrie Wilson, Kelly Kelly, Melina, AJ Lee and Victoria.
Id rather play as WRESTLERS I dont know on WRESTLING GAME than random podcasters I dont know

It very clearly is some sort of work, given Pats co-hosts are usually more knowledgeable on NXT and the indies than Pat himself.
Yeah I wouldn't mind these co-hosts being in if we at least had guys and girls like Oba Femi, Tatum Paxley, Sol Ruca, Karmen Petrovic, Lola Vice and Oro Mensa. The lack of weekly TV appearances of these people makes this DLC worse.

The DLC gives us four guys we don't care about, a football that is corny, and around 20 moves, of which 6 are a coffin drop, and 2 are moves they forgot to put in with Josh Briggs... Leaving us with only 13 moves that are not talent exclusive...
And the worst of it? All of those coffin drops are assigned to Ty Schmitt... Making it look like a move only a talentless hack would use.

I hope they either patch crowd volume and add crowds singing along to iconic entrances with more enthusiasm, or add it to 2k25. This is one of the biggest aspects of wrestling and really makes a huge impact on immersion.

The og Women’s wrestling fans wanted a Divas Pack for so long… they could’ve gave us that. With Michelle, Layla, Torrie Wilson, Kelly Kelly, Aj Lee. Something, especially with the inclusion of Stacy and not Torrie. Idk just anything BUT this pack
An announcer pack would have been much better, we still get Pat but also get Michael cole, Corey graves, and Byron saxton, then have room for a couple nxt stars like Oba
Those COD models look significantly better than WWE 2K24's models. It's sad when a shooter has better wrestler character models than the actual wrestling game. Hopefully 2K has been developing a new engine in the background. Just the lighting alone makes a huge difference.
As a fan who lives in Portugal, I think it's a tremendous lack of respect that Hogan and Rock figures can only be purchased by those who live in the United States. I paid 70 euros for the season pass and one of the dlc's is full of characters that aren't even wrestlers. shame wwe, shame!!

True the game is broken in terms of bugs and glitches is 2K20 Lame-ass level , If I was 2K I will hire another developer to take care of NBA 2K and make Visual Concept just for developing WWE2K , I think it is a big problem to have the same developer working at the same time in two games that are usually highly anticipated

The reason why post Malone is in the game is because he has the main soundtrack just like last year when they put Bad Bunny in the game.
It would be nice if they'd give us the myrise characters as persona cards too. It was dumb of them to keep them exclusive to myrise and myfaction. I actually really hate myfaction a lot.

The fact that patch 1.13 didn’t fix anything says a lot about how 2K views its fans, but I’m a little hopeful that there will be another patch this Tuesday, but I have my doubts about it.

Lexie needs to be removed from the WWE 2K Community Manager role ASAP if she thinks that laughing with Pat and at upset gamers, who have the right to feel upset over a DLC pack that none of them ever wanted, is a good idea to get clout and obtain relevancy.
2K just need a top-down change. Whoever makes the DLC decisions needs to go. Whoever replied with those laughing emojis need to go. Whoever thinks commentary as-is needs to go - the NBA 2K method of using real clips, from what I've heard, is significantly more fluid and realistic.

I found more problematic how hard is to unlock persona card than a new DLC , all the things to have to find to unlock for example Randy's 09 alter ego is ridicoulous , they should be unlocked by winning a special event or completing tasks in exhibition , not by playing a lot in My faction and if you are lucky enough you get all the pieces to unlock that card
So is it unlocked now, because all the characters are still locked on the selection menus
