Unbelievably underappreciated channel. Great video as always! I hope you continue to create such great content and keep "in the mood for" alive. I've been sharing some of these videos with my friends and everyone loves them.
Thank you, thank you. This means a lot to me! This is my passion, and shall endeavour to carry on making many more videos as long as I can. And thanks to people like you for continuously supporting my channel, and for sharing it to your friends! Sending you well wishes always. 💕
Hey Janz. I love your channel! There are a couple of videos that I watch over and over again. Everything is so beautiful :) Thanks for everything you do. This work is a gift to the world.
Thank you, Mário. Messages and comments like yours give me hope and restores my faith in people, that you are able to see the beauty in what I do, and appreciate the message, too. Thank you for being here and showing such a wonderful support. Wishing you great health and wellness these times.💛
You do a fabulous job with these videos. I appreciate the integrity with your project. It’s definitely hard to keep all the pots (projects, life…) cooking at the right speed.
your videos are amazing! I will be starting my own travel channel in Oct. your videos are truly inspirational. I'm surprised you have not been picked up for a television show.
Janz thanks for sharing, really enjoyed watching this part of your journey and humanity in your drive behind the channel! Keep on showing us these beautiful places your way 🙌
Thank you, Victor. I appreciate it sincerely when you recognise the humanity in my work here. Thank you for your support! Will keep making videos for as long as I could. 🙂✨🎥
Another great project, amazing work Jan! In spite of the challenges you may have encountered whilst making this video, you have done a great job! I am utterly proud of your work and certainly extremely proud of you. The world is your Oyster and you can be as free as you want to be. In the Mood for Life is an inspiration to us all & I cannot wait to visit Portugal again! ♥️💐
Thank you, Maya! I always appreciate your support and love, as always. The best thing we can do is overcome challenges and hopefully come out as better people. And I'm very glad In The Mood for Life is an inspiration to live better! Can't wait to have you in Portugal again! ❤️❤️❤️
Janz, another great video with an even more important message. Keep doing what you’re doing and honouring your integrity and soul. You’ll be fine and thank you for sharing your story and all the beauty!
Thank you, James. This is reassuring to hear that you appreciated my message. I hear plenty of creators sell their integrity and soul, and that's how the industry works. This one is super personal, and thank you for your support here on my channel. Will keep making videos in my own creative way.
Discovered your channel very recently, amazing fottage, very skilled edition and awesome narration, you got a new sub, keep up the great job and welcome to this little gem of a country ☺️ 🇵🇹
Thank you, Mario. Appreciate your great comment! It's people like you that makes me feel welcome, and share this beautiful country to people who appreciate it. Take care!

I’ll put this sentence from a Portuguese poet in Portuguese, for you to discover. “Da minha aldeia vejo quanto da terra se pode ver no Universo.... Por isso a minha aldeia é grande como outra qualquer Porque eu sou do tamanho do que vejo E não do tamanho da minha altura...”
Good for you! Heard you loud and clear in this video. Thank you for insisting on integrity in your creative process and it shows with each video, especially this one. Sometimes it's not what you see, that is important, it's what you don't see that truly matters. Stay well and thanks again!
What a pleasure to read your comment, thank you. I appreciate it when viewers like you see the perspective of the creative process, and fully support the dignity and integrity we creators try to imbue in our creation. It seems as though is RUclips is built of fast consumption, but this delights me whenever someone stops and appreciate craft. Thank you for the wonderful words, and happy to have you here!
How am I just now finding you! LOVING your vlog and film style. The music and voice so calming but my curiosities are still satisfied. Thank you for sharing! Let the binging begin!! Prosperityyyyyy!!! ✨🌿💛🌿✨
Thank you, Becky. Being true is the only I could lead this little life, and creating with honesty is the way to go. This truly was a journey, and hopefully will come out better on the other side! 💛 Stay happy!
You videos have been so great since I found them. The quality of the production, the story telling, the shots are all great. Your videos take me away and inspire me every time. Whatever endeavor you put your creativity and skill into I will continue to support.
This comment made me smile and made me realise that there are people out there who are genuinely inspired with what I do and create. Thank you, appreciate your comment and thanks for taking the time to say such nice words! Wishing you well always, and thanks for the support!
I've always found hiking to be restorative. Have you ever been on a snow hike though? I am not a fan of snow but I do appreciate its beauty. However, snow hiking is amazing, to walk through seemingly empty forests where you don't even hear any birds or insects. . . it's mesmerizing, almost sacred feeling. I'm glad you found lessons from unfortunate circumstances and I am happy to discover your channel. I can't wait to share it with my husband. Much luck in all your endeavors.
Another subscribed fan here. There is no end to the amount of slow flowing drone footage on YT in general but I love how you put it together and edit it. I am on my journey to better health and love watching your Portugal content while on my stationary bike. However, I will be honest and say the middle segment was just too long and clearly designed to send a message to person(s) unknown. I honestly wish that had been a separate video - much like your teaching content on making videos. That being said - I think I have seen most of your Portugal content now and cannot wait for your next video(s). Thank you for your hard work and curse those who interfere :-)
Nothing like Filipino talent in post-production editing, but also in propensity for burn out. Good advice. When that bad feeling creeps up, go for a hike.
Hi Jen, I think I saw your comment earlier and somehow disappeared before j could respond! Thanks for your support always, I'm appreciative of everything. I keep creating with the creative freedom, that's now my purpose! ❤️
For me, creativity is like being in love. You'll have a hard time being creative if you don't have passion for the things you do. And it's ok to take one - or several - steps back to reconnect, find new aspects about life, yourself, the projects that will make you fall in love with it again, and become eager to share it with others. And I think you are just getting started with the philosophical insights. "You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.” JRR Tolkien
You hit the nail on the head, the passion to create is so vital, so to avoid losing that, it's important to step back and then refresh, reinvigorate. Then we find things about our creative projects that inspire us again. For me, hiking does this! It makes me connect to my inner self. I hope to make more philosophical videos, and also about creativity! Thanks for sharing your insights, Sérgio! It's very much appreciated.
It's a pity you lost your personal work, just because you trusted someone. But if we we don´t trust, I can we live in brotherhood? You have a great work, beautiful images, excellent script. Obrigado, take care.
It is, indeed, but don't worry, I've come out stronger. And I haven't lost faith if humanity yet, I know people personally who I trust and genuinely keep reminding me that there are good people in the world. Thank you so much for being here, showing support and appreciation for my work!
Great content and message. Tap into Fado music; in my opinion, it helps one to go through a process of catharsis. Contentment is achieved by experiencing and acknowledging hardship, nostalgia and a slew of other incredibly complex feelings -- or as we say in Portuguese, Saudade.
I love this word, saudade. It's akin to melancholy. I'm familiar of fado, and would need to explore the genre. Thank you for your wonderful comment and suggestion.
Has your own self-interest (financially reaping and pillaging at the same time) not made it so very difficult for the very Portuguese people to whom Portugal belongs?
Not really sure what hapenned with the photage and what really made you to do such a radical turn in the original script. I found the explanation too vague - stolen, manipulated, wrongly recorded? I would prefer you were to try a different style of video, which is also about creative freedom, and leave these vague explanations out. They don't really clarify it, neither they serve as a manifesto. Otherwise the video was beautifully edited and filmed as always, and reveals yet another charming corner of the country.
Normally I don't think your videos are click bait. You get what you think you're getting and sometimes more than you expect. I congratulate you with that. And don't get me wrong; I understand what your point is in this video. But the viewer has an expectation and your creativity has 'decided' to take another course. So is it click bait? Yes, it's click bait still. But is it wrong? I will leave that judge of value to the other viewers.
Thank you for your thoughts and opinion. Let's agree to disagree on this. The fact that I have full creative reign on my RUclips channel gives me the capacity to find fulfillment in what I create here. How you see it is subjective to you. You clicking on it solely rests on your own decision. The keywords on the title are Arrábida, hiking and creative freedom. Is it about Arrábida, yes. Is it about hiking? Yes. Is it about creative freedom, yes. Does it say Serra da Arrábida on the title? No. Did I ask you to click on it? No. "Click bait" is too simplistic, erroneously reductive term to use with nary any nuance.
You do great work capturing Portuguese locations (at least I have seen only those episodes). But imho on the occasion of this episode you focused too much on your frustration which was the result of not being able to use your entire footage. I wanted to watch this episode because of Arrabida, but I got an episode dominated with your comments which came out from that frustration. As a viewer I wasn't expecting that once I opened the episode called In the mood for Arrabida. I know it's your channel and you can show whatever you want, and again, you do great work, but as a viewer I didn't enjoy the episode which was supposed to be about the beautiful area and became something else
Thanks for watching! I never try to make a viral video. I love hiking and being in the nature. This video was a turning point for me. A lesson to be more creatively independent and not depend on other people’s vision.
