pickers have come a long way since the 9965s we used to have.
We still use equipment from 80's and 90's Sam's reasons you said, easier to work on and most parts are still easy enough to locate thru salvage yards.

I am so happy for you both! I recall the issues of labor this last season. I recommended that you need to do what is best for you and Kelly - being less labor intensive. I am the former cabinet maker that did not invest in my business with the new equipment that would have reduced my need for so much labor, that labor cost me my business for not being competitive. God was helping you at the auction!

Now to find a trailer to haul the bails on. Loader to load the bales, forks for the rear of the tractor to move the bales. But for sure found one at a great price.

This is great! Your old picker may still be solid, but I would say that the buggy and especially the module builders are past their prime. This definitely seems like God is placing the tools you need at your disposal. Just hope that you can find any potential problems before harvest so everything runs as smoothly as possible during. Matt, Congratulations. This was a great Christmas gift to Kelly and yourself. Listening to you in the other picker that you drove to harvest the cotton for the neighbor, you were pumped up on that baler picker. The big advantage is on Kelly not having to do all the other stuff she has had to do over the years (and long days) and it is labor savings. Like you said if it gets bad on a picking day and you are picking, then you can run all day and then come out the next day and gather the bales (solo). I am so happy for both of you, especially for Kelly. Hopefully it will turn out well for you.

No our equipment is just not worth that much. There’s not a big demand for that style picker anymore

I knew it! I said youd buy one on the last video. One thing thats a good idea to do on the baler every year is replace the pins in the seams in the baler belts.

Congrats on the new picker. Make sure you make your insurance pay out for diminished value on the truck, not just the damage. With the high resale price of trucks right now, you should be able to get a reasonable check for it.
Cotton picker was an early Christmas present for you and your wife. Your son may not be so excited about cleaning another picker, but easier times during harvest.
I hate thieves more than anything else. Kelly chill hun, you got some of your stuff back.
