That scrub jay is beautiful!
Thank you. Nearly half my property is a part of a much larger environmental zone that has remained undeveloped. It's fairly wild down there and being in Oregon there are a lot of trees and blackberry thickets. Plus, I feed them.
Great view of many familiar birds seen in the western US. The Hutton's was the only one I wasn't aware of. The Towhee is now the Spotted towhee replacing the Rufous-sided towhee which used to include the Eastern towhee as well.
I'm jealous of that fig tree!
John Hamil It's lovely that You look after the Wildlife (as We all should). Please try to make sure this land never gets developed? There's far too many People & too many buildings but there's not enough of this & the rate We're going there won't be any of this left at all. Places like this are an oasis & sanctuary for Wildlife. Well done.
My cats love the birds, I love learning the names of them. Thank you for excellent feather-tainment!
Dear John Hamil, what a beautiful beautiful place you have. Taking care of wild life is something I do as well. I get great joy from it. The first thing God told us to do is take care of the earth, and the things in it. No wonder we find peace and happiness in this simple pleasure, God bless you❤
Very nice. My little grand daughter and I enjoyed this.
İt's so wholesome ö
I have a Bird bath look🐥👍
Thank you so much for providing names of the sweetest small birds. I love the natural sounds!
Thank you for naming which species arrived at your birdbath! They are all so beautiful! X3 X3
They're so sweet and wonderful!
Their chirping sounds are very calming.
how i'm watching this in 2019 is a true marvel thank you for filming these
I am watching this beautiful video in February of 2021 ❤❤❤❤👏👏👏👏
I have a Bird bath look😋❤
What a joy to see these birds!
Amazing photography, fabulous ID work! Nicely done!
Thank you . The cast of characters has increased since then. If you're curious ... www.jwhamil.com/Bird/index/index.html
Thank you for including the name of such lovely visitors. What a paradise!
Beautiful! 🙏🏻
One of the best bird videos. I love that you named the birds. You have a lovely backyard😊
As a German who has never been anywhere outside of Europe, this is really great to see. You have some beautiful birds over there! (Though I still love ours, of course ;))
As someone who has lived in Germany for 3 years, I think youre blessed to be glued to Geemany
@@wiesbadengera1 What...do you mean by that? I don't think I understand you correctly 😅
Chestnut-backed chickadees are so dang cute they’re like a parody of adorableness.
You are blessed to have such a variety of visitors!
What a neat video you made. Thank you for sharing. They’re all so cute! There so neat with their different patterns, colors and calls.
You did a nice job with this.
I love how you took the time to make captions to identify each species and their gender.
I suspect this took a reasonable amount of effort to do this or other people would too.
I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia, so I don't see or recognize most of the birds in your video.
what a great video, birds are so perfect.
Its do calming to watch them.. sigh♥️😊
I have a Bird bath look😁😊
Watching in 2022. Thank you for making this video! So calming, and the labels are so great. Beautiful property.
Beautiful, heavenly, peaceful.
I have a Bird bath look🦋🐱
Wonderful video. Birds are drastically declining in numbers so anything anyone can do to provide them with a friendly environment, food and water is very helpful.
Because of wild cats
@@pauldean7690 And housecats. And some dogs. And hunting for sport.
So awesome plus you give the names of the bird species. Thank you
Thank you for the beautiful video! I love watching the beautiful birds 🐦 ❤️ lovely to see the different types 😍 I live in the uk and love watching the birds coming to my feeders ❤️❤️❤️

Very nice too see!!!
Beautiful beautiful video I love all birds they are wonderful to watch.
Hi John! Thank You for a wonderful morning video. Your birds are soothing to watch, almost hypnotic. Naming the birds is also a very helpful touch that allows us to better understand what we see in our back yards. Thank You again.
You're welcome. It was my pleasure.
Beautiful captures, each and every one. Love Oregon, what a wonderful place to call home.
My Babie Doll loves watching these and so do I. I love that you put the name of the birds up so I can learn the names.
Absolutely lovely video of so many wonderfully BEAUTIFUL birds to grace your backyard. Wow. ❤❤
Thank you for posting.
Спасибо. :) Все птицы супер.
ruclips.net/video/cF4umAThOb8/видео.html👍🦚
I always think about how birdwatcher hobbyists/enthusiasts watch videos like this with genuine fascination. Maybe I've been spoiled by owning a pet bird but I just see this as adorable. It's like puppies playing in a pool to me. I can understand the more serious appeal or interest, but I also just can't help but find them really cute and silly
Beautiful. Thanks for posting
BEAUTIFUL ARRAY OF BIRDS, LUCKY YOU.
I HOLD MY BREATH WATCHING, FEARING ILL SCARE THEM AWAY 😊
CAMILLE AUSTRALIA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
California Scrub Jay is my absolute favorite here so far. Can't wait to get to have a Steller's Jay visit one day too, they're so majestic.

It’s one thing to see pictures of these birds in books; it’s another thing entirely to see these birds in reality! Quality educational content
Who gave birds their colors, Who taught them how to sing....?
Thank you for the video. Silence. Natural. Birds talking. Wind blowing. Parfumed rosemary...
Just lovely!❤
Thank you for posting this! Your video and amazing sound quality, make your filming stand above the rest! This video I could loop for long periods! Beautiful.....
I have a Bird bath look😇🦩
This video is very well put together... simply lovely
thankyou john for helping us understand the birds
Very relaxing video! I miss the bird bath we had in our yard when I was growing up. We'd just get it filled when a silly robin would get in and splash most of the water out. Always a delight to watch!
ruclips.net/video/cF4umAThOb8/видео.html🦋😋
This is my experience, but with magpies! : D Worth it- i love watching them splash around!!
This is great! I'm going to get a larger birdbath.
Какие красивые птицы в тропиках.
Эти в США, в Орегоне.
So enjoyable - thank you!
Thank you for this relaxing beautiful video 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I have a Bird bath look⭐😁
Merveilleuse idée et merci pour le spectacle et le nom des oiseaux très instructif 💝🌈
MARAVILLOSO
I live in west coast canada and i recognize many of the birds in this video! I love Towhees, they are so cute.
Oh wow! I didn't know Scrub Jays were up in Oregon. I'd never seen them before moving to FL where I'm also in an environmental zone. I hadn't really looked into it their habitats, but it's good to know they have more territory than I had expected. They're lovely birds!
Also, the bird naming with the presences of the birds are the sweet spot,
Great video. I really enjoyed this
I can't imagine drinking somebody else's bath water!
No, you would have to be a bird to do that! 😄
Visonista: That, or a thirsty gamer boy
@@raccoonchild Yes, as both are part of the animal kingdom. 😊
I drank my own when I was younger... because I was dumb. I also picked up a mouse bare-handed.
Noone ever told yas we all drink recycled water? It doesnt pour from the space out of the black hole well onto Earth.
Thank you for name in the birds.
Such a variety you are in heaven 💚 with Rosemary to serve as a protection to them.
A wonderful and entertaining video.
What a lovely little video. I came upon it while Googling the difference between Hutton's Vireo and the Ruby-crowned kinglet. How is it that you have so many varieties coming to the birdbath? Is it because you are in specific location, or? I would like to know....This will be one of my go-to videos for calming down at the end of the day. Thanks. Julia from Toronto, Canada
Fabulous vid - ThanQ for naming the birds ~FactsMatter
Thank you for sharing your wonderful video!
I have a Bird bath look😘🐥
The sparrow and the grosbeak looked like they were having a standoff until the latter turned away.
You get an A for this !💕💕

Muito obrigada John por compartilhar tamanha riqueza
Very cool , ty for sharing🐦
You're welcome.
Muito lindo a natureza this place, especialmente com os pássaros voando livremente. Parabéns pelo lindo vídeo
It’s nice that you’ve identified them, for those of us not from the West. Thank you...and thanks to our government and chem trails our bird population in down 30%.

Very nice!👍
This is so nice.
Thank you.
i live in the area too and see those same yellow birds and was wondering if they are lesser goldfinches or just regular goldfinches--thank you for confirming i was pretty sure they are lessers.
also thanks for the huttons vireo ID, i have seen them around and didnt know what they were
beautiful
You are so lucky. I have a birdbath and water bowls here in UK. I get sparrows magpies blue tits wood pidgeons and squirrels. We had parrots once but once they saw cats they never returned.
These have the finest flying technology out there. Just couple of caterpillars and a few drops of water and they good to fly for hours with best maneuvers, dive, lift and hunting.
Güzel insanlar iyiki varsınız
Lovely.
Nice video.
Nice diversity !
I wish that many of these bird species lived in my region on the world

I have a bird bath
the bird at 2:35 is a Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Love u nature
Hola que tal como amas tu esa fuente de agua rodeada por una higuera un romero y esa belezuras de aves parabién gracias saludos
Considering getting a bird bath now.
IM FROM PORTLAND OR.I KNOW JOHNSON CREEK !
Your Hutton's Vireo is actually a Ruby-crowned Kinglet. Note the diagnostic wing flicking, thinner bill, active behavior and distinctive dry two noted quick "tzi-tzi" vocalizations that this bird makes.
Thanks...This was posted over 7 years ago and I've learned since:(www.jwhamil.com/Bird/index/index.html)
Ha! I thought so too. I was wondering whether I'd been misidentifying vireos as kinglets.
Awwwww
I try and look for smooth, white bird baths, because
that makes it much easier to tell if the water is dirty.
Dark colors and mosaics are the worst for seeing dirt.
Birds are the only creatures that will see these designs
and I doubt they care about the design inside the BB.
The crevices around an interior design inside a bowl
are also the most likely place for mold to begin growing and
these crevices also make it much harder to clean the bowl
(If you don't care about dirty water it doesn't matter.)
I also keep a tightly wound handle strainer hung-up near the bird bath
and use that to clean very minute debris and birdcrap out of the birdbath
between changes of the water. (I buy 3 or 4 at a time at the dollar store)
I change the water at least once a day. Some species of birds like doves
and sparrows will crap in the water on a regular basis. I try and remove
it while it is still fresh and intact.
I went to a Lowes to buy a birdbath recently and I was very surprised
to see that most of them were designed very poorly in my opinion.
But I guess a lot of people buying their first birdbaths are novices
who are more impressed by aesthetics than the utility of the design(?)
I never use my clay/pottery bird baths in the winter. The constant pressure
on the sides from freezing ice at night and thawing during daylight
will cause these bird baths to disintegrate much sooner than they should.
I'm only aware of this because it happened to a neighbor of mine.
I use a heated, white, plastic bird birdbath in the winter but I don't fill it up
too high because the water on the lip will freeze. I thought the heater had
stopped working until realized I was filling it too high. I try an remember
to turn it off and empty it at night but sometimes I forget to do this.
But I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia and people in warmer climates
probably don't have to worry about this.

you should add a rarity scale so i can be even more impressed
nice

👌🌷👌
I can't believe 13 people disliked this. Maybe they wanted the vid to last longer, which is quite understandable.
Thanks John for the great video ! I live in the Willamette Valley and feed and video my backyard animals as well, this sure did help me identify some of these lil guys. Is that a sack of blood meal for the deer ? 🦌
You're welcome. Even though I'm on a creek most of what I see are upland-mixed forest birds. I've a more inclusive set of bird pages indexed here:
www.jwhamil.com/Bird/index/index.html
I tried blood meal years ago but the ten deer visiting daily kept coming. We built a fence.
You have lots of beautiful birds can o ask what bird feed you put out for them x
Sugar water for the hummingbirds - suet for woodpeckers and the other bug eaters - sunflower seeds for just about everybody and a feeder with thistle seeds for goldfinches
