You may not think of the channel as being a how to place but I have learned many things from watching these videos, and I am more confident whenever i go to work on my bike.
That’s great to hear thank you!🧡
Already taken your advice with the micro fibre towels, cheers.
Thanks John!🧡👍🏼⚙️
Thanks for this, and for replying to my email about the ultrasonic cleaner. 🤘
Thanks for watching🧡
Great info as always and love all your insights. Sorry to hear about the unit problems and excited to see those resolved in the coming weeks. Keep the great content coming 🎉
We’re back tonight with all our problems sorted!🧡
Amazing and very excited - highlight of the week @@Bikespeeds :)
Thank you AJ🧡
Always love a good Q&A session video. Like someone else mentioned, it gives a nice insight into your work and knowledge. Always good to listen to. Well done to you both as I know you always praise Simon for his time dedication and his skills. A great combination 👍
Thanks Adam. Glad you enjoy the Q&A videos as well, we appreciate all the comments from yourself 🧡
thanks for update, good luck with the new set up.
We’ve got our first video coming out tonight and are enjoying the new space!🧡
Do you play music in your shop if so what kind?Keep plugging along😎
Absolutely, capital radio or some old school scar depending on who turns the radio on first🧡
What I want to know, is how do bike manufacturers manage to put internally routed cables through the frame when it's just been built and has no cables running inside the frame to begin with?
Lol we actually don’t know 🧡
I think they put them in when its only half made
With an internal routing tool I reckon, just like some bike shops. Some frames' internal routing can be done without such a kit (I've done a handful without mine to my surprise), but it does make things much easier.
Would you ever start selling merchandise? I’d love to own a Bikespeeds t-shirt!
We have mugs on our website, www.bikespeeds.com/shop but simply can’t afford to buy in T-shirts they cost a load for all the sizes and for the small amounts we’d be buying pay next to nothing! If you wanted a mug we’d always appreciate the support🧡
@@BikespeedsWhy not use one of those websites that fulfil your t-shirt order for you for a small fee. You might not make as much but the more people that wear them the more it'll advertise for you 😀
Really enjoy these videos , Lee. Thanks for taking the time during your shop renovation to put up another video. Your subscribers enjoy your drive and determination to show us what is happening at Bikespeeds. Best wishes as always!!
Thanks Todd this was really just a video to keep things ticking over, hopefully we can get back to regular content in the coming weeks 🧡⚙️
Excellent lee, look forward to seeing the refurbed workshop and future videos. Love the vintage restorations btw. 👍
We’re back in a couple hours in the new workshop! Thanks for the support 🧡
8:18 - Parktool are a hideous rip off for what they are. They're 'ok' quality, but being a car mechanic, I can get 10x the quality for sometimes half the price by just buying a different brand more associated with cars than bikes. Obviously more specialised bike specific tools, you're stuck; but things like my Halfords cassette tool has pulled dozens of lock rings, and has even survived being used with an impact gun (yeah, it was THAT tight...) so you don't ALWAYS have to go for the big name stuff...
Missed you guys last week. As always I enjoy your Q&A videos because they are always full of good advice.
That’s good to hear, it’s not our best content but it keeps the ball rolling when we have holidays or just can’t get a video out like last week🧡
Integrated cables through the headsetcould be worthwhile on an aero bike. I purposely bought an earlier model aero frame to avoid this though. There's no getting away that functional design compromises have to be made around the headtube area which which may degrade safety, and add a bit of weight. The optics are a personal thing, but depend somewhat on whether the stem can be lowered enough to avoid the startled hen look. I travel a bit and need to remove the bar to fit either my Evoc or Scicon bags. So just not worth the 'benefit' to me.
Yes, they don't make sense on any bike that's not a road bike. Gravel, CX, urban, MTB, etc.
It’s absolutely dependent on use. I agree most people should take your approach and think about the liveability of their bike day to day!🧡
was going to suggest maintenance classes but you'd be putting yourself out of work 🤨 surprising how many people can't fix a puncture 😏
I've heard worse: Not knowing how to remove a rear wheel, from an open-dropout bike.
Great video as always, thank you for the content.
Thank you again and again🧡
Hope you see this - QUESTION: What part/component is your least favorite to service? And which one is your favorite to service?
Sort of the same answer for both. Something tricky and complicated can be very stressful but very rewarding. So anything with a creative problem to be solved 🧡
Love these vids, keep it up!
Thank you!🧡⚙️
Do we get a before and after tour of the shop?
No before and after, but potentially a shop tour when we’re 100% completed 🧡
what chain lubricant do you recommend?
hot wax.
Squirt, all day long 😊
Anything but Muc-off is a good starting point
We have a couple listed on our website www.bikespeeds.com/shop. They’re mostly all the same so it’s a personal preference really🧡
Thank you for answering my question!
Thanks for supporting us 🧡⚙️
Sorry to hear you're having a lot of trouble with the shoulder and that it keeps you from competing. I hope you're still able to enjoy cycling as a hobby though? I got myself a plate and nine screws about 4 months ago and am just getting back into cycling. Was planning on entering some XCM style races, but now I'm not sure I'll be able to do those long rides as before.
I haven’t ridden since!🧡
I really like the 9 speed drive chain. What's your view on the 9 speed drive chain?
Works great!🧡
Hi Lee, love the videos. Can you recommend a good bearing extractor/press for wheel and BB bearings please?
Hi Luke, truth is we’ve never bought the flashiest tools, half of them are unbranded and the other half we’ve had so long we can’t remember. But that’s never failed us so I’d say anything that’s gonna do the job will do the job!🧡
Good video. A little advice look at the lens and not the screen that way your looking at your audience 🎉
When I bought a new Top, Look frame from a Sale (To end up with a 6,8 kilo racing bike), I had much difficulty in hitting the frame holes by the crank (The top tube had an extra guide inside)! I know about sets for this purpose but as a single bike builder I used the "search and you will find" system, and in the end managed to get my cables through! Finn. Denmark
