Correction: Monsters at Work takes place between Waternoose being arrested and Boo’s door being rebuilt. It’s not a sequel, as the last episode of Season one ends where Monsters inc ended. Shot for shot, word for word the same scene
If Disney Store made stuffed animals for Tylor, Val, Fritz, Cutter and Duncan, I would get them, either for me or for my sister because we enjoy the series and the characters.
I love that Val's pigtails move, and I love Cutter's broken scream can. These figures are really fun. Have you had a chance to watch the series on Disney Plus, yet? I love all the new character designs as well as getting to see more of the inside of the factory. So much creativity went into all the design aspects, and it is making for so many potentially amazing toys to be released!! I want a toy with the case of eyeballs (I won't say more so I don't spoil it for anyone who hasn't watched, but if you have seen it, you'll know what I'm talking about.) I also really want Fritz in his vacation outfit! Fingers crossed!
Gorgeous action figures from disney monsters at work, they are super cute and colorful, the one I hope they have in the store is tylor tuskmon, because I want him the most.
Wow. They seem better than I expected! Also, while it can (sadly) be seen the animation is not done by Pixar (at least from what clips I’ve seen, I don’t have D+) I’m surprised by the significant redesign they gave Ted Pauley: a mouth, subtle differences in the spikes, and even a scaly texture instead of a more fleshy/skin-like one. Especially since no redesign has been given to his cousin Joe Ranft. I know it’s not relevant, just a thought about the series.
No it's totally relevant and that's a great thought! At first I was like, something is definitely different with Ted and then I realized OH! lol he has a mouth now (duh)! That's surprising for sure. Maybe they justified the change because they wanted him to have a speaking role and made the choice to give him a mouth with an in-universe explanation that maybe his species can make it come and go as he pleases. At least that's what I have to tell myself, ha! Yah the animation is noticeably not Pixar (overall), but it's close. At least they went 3D and not 2D like Tangled or Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, so it still feels a part of the world and a continuation of the films. The humans are certainly the most notably different in terms of style. They have the Disney human look and not Pixar. I's subtle, but I could tell right off the bat!
Yes, it's good they went with 3D, and the animation isn't bad; it's really nice to see some of the characters animated after 20 years. And yes, the human look is noticeably different, what is especially seen with the baby in the trailer. As a fun fact for Ted, he doesn't need the mouth to speak; if I remember correctly, he had a speaking role (with a completely different voice, of course) in one of the old MI video games. But without it, it'd be harder to animate him trying to be funny (though a happy expression can be conveyed through one's eyes, the smiling mouth also plays a big role)
Ah, and also about redesigns - I'm almost sure the one-eyed, four-armed green monster in the orientation video is supposed to be Frank, Bob Peterson's assistant. If it's true, he's also been given a redesign: instead of a fur ruff around his neck, he now has a fin-like collar - maybe because of hair animation restraints
I have to say, out of all of these figures, I'm a big fan of Mike and Gary. I mean, sure, Gary's the opposite of Mike, but, he's quick-witted and a smooth-talker. I will say this, though, he could never be better than Mike, or replace him.
Yes, it was, plus, Roz has a twin sister, named Roze. She may hate Mike, but, she can't help it, it's just her thing, (which she and Roz have in common) but, I don't mind at all.
