Thanks for this. One side came off without issue, but we had to resort to this method for the other side. Worked well.

don't use the tools/ levers and the tape. just grab the whole unit and pull it towards you and it will slide out. that's after removing the bolts obviously

We'll it did not slide out for me. I pulled like a mad monkey to no result. I had to use a lever to force-click the two locks open.

Hi. Many thanks. I like your special toolset. I've just bought a special pair of P21 Philips LED brake/tail bulbs for my Nissan X-Trail t30 2007/8. However, when I removed one of the rear light clusters, I found that my new lamps with the common cylindrical base and offset pins do not fit because there is an unusual socket designed for flat-based bulbs that slide in.
I'm wondering if you might be able to tell me the model / fitting of the correct type of bulb for my car. My owner's manual doesn't help, and I haven't found the specifications of these bulbs on Google either. I'd be very grateful for your help or any pointers.

@@coolhandslondon Thanks. I've since found out that the original bulbs have 7443 inscribed on them. By the way, I've used WD40 to ease on/off the 3 plastic pins on the cluster.
