Well, the guy behind Bayonetta is Hideki Kamiya, the same guy that also was the director for Devil May Cry. Bayonetta pretty much is officially the female version of Dante :D
Lore for the first game is a tad complicated but the gist of it is that Bayonetta is the product of two starcrossed lovers, Balder and [SPOILER] theyre love violated the Tenets of both Umbra Witches and Lumen Sages. Thos caused a rift between the clans, Bayonetta's mother was imprisoned and Balder was banished from his clan, a war broke down between both clans, the witches won, 20 years later the witch hunts began, orchestrated by balder himself, in that war Bayonetta's mother died and she lost the will to fight, Jeanne sealed her and for 500 years Jeanne went on to fight on her own. The events of the game start and Jeanne has been mind controlled by Balder, the goal was to awaken The left eye of darkness which Bayonetta possesses, after this events with little Cereza the time line is changed to one where Bayonetta was never sealed, one where she got back up and fought alongside Jeanne, this awakened her left eye, which when together with the right eye would awaken Jubileus the Dea of Paradiso. After Bayonetta defeats her though implied in the game, but confirmed on the movie Bayonetta and Jeanne summon Shiva the Quern of inferno, also know as inferno's Dea, to defeat Jubileus once and for all. The story will continue in Bayonetta 2.
I also started playing Bayonetta for the first time this December and after finishing the main story and unlocking Jeanne I feel like I can play that in the meantime my Bayonetta 2 is coming from China next January
This is a little late but for the cutscene where Rodin throws her the gun those are the models for Ebony and Ivory, Dante’s guns. She also uses them when you first meet Jeanne on the airplane
Everyone do yourself a favor: go to 44:57 and go frame by frame and just imagine the caption "My face when I get bronze" and just... just love your life. 😂
23:28 I do forget how punishing this game can be. Also there's an achievement by getting pure platinum on all difficulties, which meant no damage incurred whatsoever during the gameplay so good luck.
God that fantasy zone stage still makes me sick from them making the whole camera rotate instead of just having the missile bayo's flying on rotate as a dodge. Honestly makes the version of that stage they did in Bayo 2 a Vast improvement, even tho i hate that it's nintendo exclusive (for now finger's crossed, praying some day it comes to pc along with 3, even tho i have them on switch, just want them on pc for more people to play them)
I wish I had watched this earlier when you first played lol. I love this game. Number 2 is even cooler. A crossover game would be great with Dante and Baynetta
i love how you censor EVERY use of "fuck" in the game EXCEPT for the iconic "don't fuck with a witch" that line goes SO hard and the fact that that's the only F-bomb left uncensored in the video makes it hit even HARDER.
To add to the DMC/Bayonette connection I remember a popular theory that I believe Kamiya kinda confirmed (probably as a troll) that Dante's mother was an umbra witch hence why she was able to meet with Sparta and that is possible she and Bayonetta's mother are sisters, which connects Bayonetta and Dante into being cousins Honestly i dont care how wrong it probably is, i could totally see them as cousins and that interaction is 100% needed
I'm on christmas break now can't wait to get into some spider-man Miles Morales and marvel spider-man 2 acton when i get them in 3 more days also great video sarah

Im just now finding out Sarah played this game. Its Christmas so watching this is another present for me!!
This was a great and funny watch, glad you popped up on my front page ^.^
Thank you! This was so much fun! :D
This Bayonetta is the dark souls of Bayonettas when it comes of earning platinum throphy
HELL YEAH BAYONETTA RRRRAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHH!!
Balder sounds like he is constantly edging
LMFAOO
The Mario covering the underside of Bayonetta at the end could fall under Artistic Nudity for Twitch just saying /j
Fun fact: Jeanne’s color scheme is a reference to Dante from Devil May Cry. It was a joke from Hideki Kamiya.
Hi Sarah I never played this game but it looks amazing 🙂 and I laughed when I saw Mario covering the characters butt I'm sorry I couldn't help it lol🤣
It's from the creator of Devil May Cry and Viewtiful Joe.
Everyone do yourself a favor: go to 44:57 and go frame by frame and just imagine the caption "My face when I get bronze" and just... just love your life. 😂
She noticed the "eggman" and "rings" sonic references. Thats not a coincidence. Bayonetta was made by Sega.
Yeah this game makes me giggle so much and it makes me giggle even more watching you really have a great time ☺️
I need to properly see this, BUT....
There is a breakdance move you can get. Get it and hold the attack button until it's done for a surprise xD
bayo is still one of the best games platinum has made. its so good, very horny, and so damn good.
23:28 I do forget how punishing this game can be. Also there's an achievement by getting pure platinum on all difficulties, which meant no damage incurred whatsoever during the gameplay so good luck.
No damage and also speedrunning basically lol
can't wait to see you playing Bayo 2 and 3 and maybe Astral Chain. Platinum Games are so good at their games.
Bayonetta trilogy let’s play letsa goooooo
God that fantasy zone stage still makes me sick from them making the whole camera rotate instead of just having the missile bayo's flying on rotate as a dodge. Honestly makes the version of that stage they did in Bayo 2 a Vast improvement, even tho i hate that it's nintendo exclusive (for now finger's crossed, praying some day it comes to pc along with 3, even tho i have them on switch, just want them on pc for more people to play them)
I shall now dub thee, SarahKey-1hp.
1:28 Lmao jazzyguns did the same exact thingggg
I wish I had watched this earlier when you first played lol. I love this game. Number 2 is even cooler.
A crossover game would be great with Dante and Baynetta
i was planning to replay this game but this is better.
BAYONETTA!? LETS GOOOOO
i love how you censor EVERY use of "fuck" in the game EXCEPT for the iconic "don't fuck with a witch"
that line goes SO hard and the fact that that's the only F-bomb left uncensored in the video makes it hit even HARDER.
To add to the DMC/Bayonette connection
I remember a popular theory that I believe Kamiya kinda confirmed (probably as a troll) that Dante's mother was an umbra witch hence why she was able to meet with Sparta and that is possible she and Bayonetta's mother are sisters, which connects Bayonetta and Dante into being cousins
Honestly i dont care how wrong it probably is, i could totally see them as cousins and that interaction is 100% needed
Watching this video makes me realize for the first time how this game is absolutely littered with references to other SEGA games.
I understand that the game story is hard to follow. But it would help if you watched to know that Bayo punched 'Yubileus' into the sun.
I'm on christmas break now can't wait to get into some spider-man Miles Morales and marvel spider-man 2 acton when i get them in 3 more days also great video sarah
Enzo is funny when ever karma gets to him
Love the song, fly me to the moon bayonetta version 😂
I really find your playthroughs interesting, you have the right balance of funny and skipping through a good overview of both DMC and Bayonetta - but why no Bayonetta 3 yet?!?!?! :D
36:27 no that angel's just catholic 💀
This video is just AMAZING
The Bayonetta 2 and 3 dancing music scenes after the credits are even better than in this first Bayonetta, just my personal opinion💃
Bayonetta 2 does not an after credits dance scene.
Welcome to the Bayonetta world. Nice edit and nice Mario stamp. 😂😂😂
"I don't like cults." Me neither, that's why I'm registered as an Independent.
Yes...the Bayonetta sweep of 2023...god bless
The Shadow remains cast!
As long as there's light,
@@destinydivided8689 it's what the game says after continuing from death
@@GrimDrago I know, the full quote is "As long as there's light, the shadow remains cast". I'm not sure why it only says the second half.
Eggman is , the Antagonist in Sonic the Hedgehog 🦔. Robotnic reference .
Didn't expect to hear you sing Deja Vu lol
Ahhh nonnononon! Sarah MUST see KERMINETTA it has to be seen. Please someone show her.
The rocket section is the one thing I never pure platinumed. 😢
Everything is cool in this game.
Thank you Sarah
