Pyrex collector, high end rare cast iron cookware collector, ceramic Christmas tree collector, other antiques. It's a great hobby and something that keeps me sane.
I think you did a great job rounding up not only the history but a good timeline of both primary and promotional patterns. I have been collecting for about 2-3 years and of late, much more actively. Thank you!
I love pyrex so much! I grew up with having so much of it in our home. My grandmother had an entire dish set that I still have a small set of fruit bowls, those tiny little bowls that you can use for dessert or something. They're just plain white with a wide green band around the edge, and a matching serving bowl. I used to have more of her pieces but I ended up getting rid of them - so sorry now that I did. Then my mom had a few of the pyrex refrigerator dishes that we stored our leftovers in daily, wish she had kept those. But they had so many beautiful patterns! I really love the butterprint/Amish one so much!. This was great, the history was so interesting - thank you!!
I collect the original Crazy Daisies line (true name Spring Blossom Green). I have a ton and will keep buying when I see them at garage & estate sales, and at antique road shows!
Going to the Corning outlet store was a day after Thanksgiving tradition for my Grandma and my mom and I. We had SO much fun and our cupboards were full of it!
I love to use my pyrex mixing bowls for mixing, serving, storing. They are cheerful and clean easy. I am done putting stuff on a shelf. If I like it and want it I only buy if I can find a real use for it. Love your interesting programs, I learn a lot.
I dont mean to be so off topic but does someone know a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the password. I love any help you can give me.
@Brooks Maddox Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I'm a collectibles dealer. Thank for all of the very informative videos that you put out!! I've learned something from every video so far, and I have been dealing for about 30 years! Thank you so much!
Just found your channel. I collect Pyrex in the solid turquoise which is really more of a true aqua color. I have the mixing bowl set which was the first Pyrex purchase about 30 years ago. I have refrigerator boxes, circular covered casserole and more. I also collect Kromex in the same color.
Collected pyrex for years. Maybe several hundred pieces. Didn't know the names of the patterns or values but I'm learning. It's time to start downsizing. Sold a set of bowls 2 weeks ago. Your video is very helpful . Thank you. Michael in Council Bluffs, Iowa
My mother got her primary mixing bowls as a wedding gift in 1945 which l just found out was the year it started. I still have and use them regularly. I have two of all but the medium small from thrifting. Sturdy, useable, oven proof and microwaveable.
I AM A FABULOUS FIFTY'S GIRL, SO I LOVE SEEING ALL OF THESE THINGS AGAIN. YOU ARE FABULOUS WITH YOUR PRESENTIONS I LEARN SOMETHING EVERY TIME. THANK YOU 😊🤗🤑🙃🤔
When I am antiquing one of the most common items I see in other shopper's carts is Pyrex. From mixing bowls to refrigerator jars; It is amazing how hot the market has become for something as widely available and commonplace as Pyrex. I've heard from antique dealers and shop owners that they love Pyrex since if it is priced reasonably it always seems to sell very quickly.
Love videos. I own a foreclosure cleanout business and so appreciate you sharing your knowledge. But maybe you could leave examples up longer so we could see. Thanks. Best wishes and never stop moving forward.
I have a few pyrex pieces I thrifted long before it became "hot." I like the olive-colored 70s stuff. I have a small baking dish that didn't have a lid--then I thrifted the lid for only a couple $$ a few mos ago. Yeah! I also have a little bit of flameware.
Great video! You showed some beautiful Pyrex patterns. I have a few pieces of Pyrex that I was gifted or found at bargain prices (which is very rare to find). I collect and have several pieces of Fire King. Could you do a 101 video on Fire King? I look forward to seeing next weeks video featuring Roseville, which has always been my favorite pottery. Since your shop is within 2 hours from us, it is on my list of road trips I have planned this summer. Thanks for sharing.
I have 1 very old red Pyrex mixing bowl, maybe 6 cups, no pattern. Use it everyday and has never seen a dishwasher. Looks almost new. I have no other pieces although my mother had many many pieces. But she never had the red bowl that I remember. I've had it so long I cannot even remember where I got it. Love it dearly, favorite item in my cupboard.
I have two divided dishes that I think I'll put on the garage sale next month. Don't remember where I got the compass star (or atomic, I've also seen it called), and the barbed wire, that a neighbor down the alley set out for free! I'll see if the locals will snap them up for $10 bucks apiece!
I love vintage Pyrex, but also the newer stuff. I like them on a practical level. I don't like the throwaway culture of today. I'd rather use the old stuff that lasts forever.
I so love Pyrex and I am very interested in it and it’s history. I have a few bits. My favourite are the little saucepan set I have. Came all the way from American 🇺🇸 and arrived just before Christmas. I enjoy using and it was worth every penny 🥰
Just found your channel last night and it’s great! Very informative videos and just what I need as a 1 year reseller and opening my first booth this weekend.
I just started collecting Pyrex. I started with the Homestead nesting bowels because I remember my Mom having the large one. I go to the antique stores and only buy the ones that are inexpensive at this point. It’s more fun piecing them together, and seems to be cheaper than buying a whole set all at once. At this point I am sticking with the nesting bowels only, unless I see something I have seen is rare. Thank you for the info.
Amazing video! Thank you so much. I have many of these pieces left or passed down to me. Ive always been scared to use them..lol But I do keep them safe! Thank you so much for posting this. Blessings, Fran
My grandma had a huge pyrex measuring cup its 4 cups! Its a beast. My mom has pyrex measuring cup is only 3 cups. I also found a beautiful no design light blue pyrex bowl, had to throw the lid away it had a big chip in it
Ahhh, the 4 colorful nesting bowls. Memories. My Mom had those. We 5 kids are why no one has them now. The green one lasted the longest. I bear the ignominy of having broken the yellow one. 😯😢😭
Thanks! Would you please do a video on crackle glass. I have a huge collection and a very old reference book, that’s not much help any more. I know the value has gone way down, but it looks beautiful in the windows when the sun is shining 🥰
We were picking up pyrex, before it got popular, and I use it to this day and of course never use harsh chemicals or put it through the dishwasher, that just makes me sad to see the dishwasher dishes, at the thrift stores, and they still ask a lot of ruined pyrex dishes 😥
Pyrex collector here!! I collect Butterfly Gold and Flamingo Pink. In Butterfly Gold, I have the complete set, nearly ever compatible piece made as well. I'm still missing the placemats and silverware, but i dont think i will ever get the silverware, and there may be items i dont even know about. I only recently learned they made Butterfly gold placemats! My favorite piece is my Big Bertha, and yes, I do use it!
HeIIz yeah, great information...🤘🏼💯✔️ I'm gonna keep an eye out for the "Black❄️Snowflake", because I really dig that...👌🏼 Also, yeah, I collect Pyrex stuff, just the pieces I like and whatnot, such as a children's piece, it's a bowl with clown🤡faces on it...🤗...I totally love❤️and dig it, and keep it on my coffee table sometimes with stuff in it...👍🏼 The color was important too, I searched for one with the Red clown decals because red is my favorite color, and of course I wanted it to be in good condition...💁🏻 So there's that, and also I got a small clear Pyrex dish in the corner of my bed cubby because it was see-through and I have it as a catch-all for miscellaneous items such as chapstick, headphones, fingernail clippers, and other odds and ends...🤙🏼 All around, I think Pyrex is pretty frickin' neat, and I do dig a lot of the different designs...💫
I have a few pieces of Pyrex, Corningware, Fire King, and Glassbake. No sets. All pieces my Mom and Auntie owned, and some found cheap at garage sales. They broke a few and sadly so did I. I love to cook with them for they are superior bakers! I don't put them in the dishwasher, and seldom in the mic. I figure they were not made for that use. Sadly my pink gooseberries have been through the dishwasher and faded. Using them gives me joy and I feel the love of my dear ones.
Awesome! I really like this 101 You Tube classes. I’m new to seriously collecting antiques vintage/bohemian style. My two cents. Also fading. If you put the color ones in the dishwasher they will fade. I have a clear bowl with teal polka dots. I think this one Is newer? The dishwasher does not effect it at all. I’m collecting the clear ones, so no problem with fading or discoloration. I’m kind of not really collecting them but if I see them at the thrift store for like a buck, I’ll pick them up. 🤗 I do like them. Didn’t Pyrex and Corningware merge? Thanks again, Christine in Massachusetts
Somehow I seem to be collecting the items you have a video on, yesterday I wrote a comment on cast iron cookware, and was amazed at how fast you replied! Your a welth of knowledge and I appreciate it. I'm somewhat of a "shotgun" kind of antiquer, and here i am again learning about the pyrex iv accumulated over the last couple years. I do mostly yard and estate sales, lots of auctions, and second hand stores. Thanks again for the info, I'll keep looking and checking your videos for information, good luck in your own hunting endeavors! Just curious, you mention 66 antiques, is that in reference to hwy. 66?
Hi!, from st clair county michigan. Love your channel! I've had a pyrex promotional piece in very very good condition for years. The only problem i have is the inability to find all pieces involved in this set together. Some are missing lid, some the rack. Can i send you a pic? If so how would you like that sent. Just need your expert opinion. Ty!
I have a large round friendship casserole dish with the lead. The color is excellent with no chips. I couldn’t find it on EBay. How much do you think it’s worth? Thanks
May I know if the quality of Pyrex and Corningwares are the same or which is better in terms of durability? Which country is Pyrex and Corningwares from? Thank you.
I have a Pyrex handle that I think was used to move Pyrex baking dishes into and out of the oven as it latches on/off based on the angle you hold it. I don't have a photo of it now (and right now, I don't have quick access to it to take/post/send a photo of it) but it looks like it was designed to grab one of the "tab arms" on a baking bowl/dish and then release quickly once the hot bowl was transferred from the oven to the trivet on the table eliminating the need for using a hot pad/mitt. I've tried to use it on some of the anchor glass baking ware and it doesn't work. I think all the Pyrex brand baking dishes I received as wedding gifts 45 years ago are no longer with me--either finally broke or left behind at a church pot luck type event. Let me know if you're interested in seeing what it looks like... PS. One of my sons has a beard like yours... I couldn't stop thinking about him as I watched this video...very informative!...
i don't know how to do picture search... it's 3 repeated sections. each section has 2 white flowers with yellow centers( like a daisy), each flower has ivy out both sides with smaller snowdrop looking flowers. there are 2 blue bands encircling the plate, they're a lighter blue. the closest to the edge is a thin line, the one closer in to the plate is thicker.
I’m still using my mother’s vintage Pyrex bowls. They’re almost indestructible. I love them.
They are the best
Pyrex collector, high end rare cast iron cookware collector, ceramic Christmas tree collector, other antiques. It's a great hobby and something that keeps me sane.

Excellent video !
Thanks Chris!
Vintage Pyrex painted patterns contain lead in the paint.
But the paint is on the outside and doesn’t contact the food.
I just started collecting last month and purchase from 66 all the time. Just bought a great Horizon Blue set last week.
That’s awesome Christina! Thanks for the support
Very informative, thank you 🙏🏽
Thanks for watching
Cool, I have 2 Gooseberry bowls from my Grandma sitting in my cabinet - had no idea they had any value. I use them all the time!

An excellent narrative.Used Pyrex in New Zealand and here in the Uk.So brilliant.
Thanks Helen!
I have heard you can't recycle pyrex with glass in America.Do you know if this is true?I don't know about the Uk.
No can't be recycled with glass. It contaminates. Its the heat protector in pyrex.
I have not heard that so can't comment either way on it 🤔
Awesome video definitely subscribe 👍👍
Thanks Jimmy!

That's Awesome! Have fun collecting pyrex! It is a blast hunting for the next piece

I love Pyrex a have a little 😄
It really is a great product!

My two cents. Also fading. If you put the color ones in the dishwasher they will fade. I have a clear bowl with teal polka dots. I think this one Is newer? The dishwasher does not effect it at all. I’m collecting the clear ones, so no problem with fading or discoloration.

Thanks again,
Christine in Massachusetts
I'm glad your enjoying the videos! Corning made pyrex and Corelle who owns both merged with another company
Came for the vintage Pyrex, stayed for the Ted DiBiase you could order from WWF magazine!!! Gosh, seven year old me is screaming jealous!
I’m a huge wresting fan so I have plenty of vintage wrestling items 🙂🙂
Found your channel when looking for value of Pyrex bowl that my mother had for years. Thinking about selling it I'm not sure
Pyrex is hot in the market right now
Yeah I heard so I'm probably going to sell it. Thanks for the reply!
Absolutely
Yes it is reference to m66 which is where our antique store is located. Thanks for watching the videos and again good luck hunting for treasures
I own the 1957 pattern you said with the farmers. That's exciting to know it's what 65 years old then?
Yea that’s awesome
Hi!, from st clair county michigan. Love your channel! I've had a pyrex promotional piece in very very good condition for years. The only problem i have is the inability to find all pieces involved in this set together. Some are missing lid, some the rack. Can i send you a pic? If so how would you like that sent. Just need your expert opinion. Ty!
Thanks for watching Patricia and feel free to message us on Facebook or google
I have a daisy one!
Nice! That’s a great pattern
I have a large round friendship casserole dish with the lead. The color is excellent with no chips. I couldn’t find it on EBay. How much do you think it’s worth? Thanks
Feel free to email me some pics and I'll see what I can do
You almost made a Pyrex collector until I seen the prices. I’d rather put money in pottery. The history was great.
Those are the highest end of prices. You can start buying them for $5 and up just the rarer pieces can get pricey
I've sold lots of Pyrex. It goes in waves people snap it up or just look. As with any collectible.
Absolutely!
I love Pyrex and try to buy all I find if reasonably priced. What about Corelle?
Depends on the pattern and the rarity if it was worth anything or if you are talking about just collecting them it is at a low so a good time to buy
@@66uniqueantiques thanks! I have my mom’s corelle collection 😊 I’m also a sucker for old Tupperware
Very cool!
i love fiesta
They are nice
Great video! Very interesting. I know it’s not related, but could you do a video on carnival glass? Is it still of interest to collectors?
Absolutely! That will most likely be the next video we do after Roseville pottery next week
150 that would be a crazy collection
I agree
May I know if the quality of Pyrex and Corningwares are the same or which is better in terms of durability? Which country is Pyrex and Corningwares from? Thank you.
I would side with Pyrex
I have a question. Did every dish come with a lid?

Absolutely! I'd love.to.see it
@@66uniqueantiques I should have access to the handle to take a photo by early-mid May, then I'll post it here, unless you want it somewhere else...
I have friends who have a hot air balloon, so I'm always looking for a good deal on a pyrex hot air balloon bowl.
I have plates from an airbase. Are they collectable?
Would need more info and pics to help you
I have clear cranberry colored pyrex and I don't know anything about it what can you tell me about it?
What do you want to know?
How old it is and how popular it was and where it was made. And is it rare.
where can a person find out what pattern they have? I can’t find mine when searching the internet for the flower it has.
Taking a picture search on eBay can help with that
i don't know how to do picture search... it's 3 repeated sections. each section has 2 white flowers with yellow centers( like a daisy), each flower has ivy out both sides with smaller snowdrop looking flowers. there are 2 blue bands encircling the plate, they're a lighter blue. the closest to the edge is a thin line, the one closer in to the plate is thicker.
bottom of plate says

Can you put in microwave??? Because all my stuff is old and I once put a bowl in and it got hot and cracked
Yes it can go in the microwave just don't put it in water afterwards due to the temperature shock
I would have never thought pyrex would be such a collectable item
Oh yeah there is quite a big market for it
Great job as usual🙂! Is Pyrex safe to use? There’s conflicting information on the internet. Thanks!
Yes it's safe! I use pyrex all the time
@@66uniqueantiques Thank you 🙂
