What a fantastic cello sonata. For the first time, I am listening to Camillo Schumann, and this sonata touched me deeply. I wonder why this wonderful music is not played in concert halls - such a profound shame that this music is left in oblivion.
Hopefully I will be able to hear more such works by Camillo Schumann. This beautiful performance by Maria Kliegal and Francesco Piemontesi is a calm and peaceful end to my day. Thanks so much for sharing this.
See my comment on your posting of the 2nd sonata. OF COURSE his music is incredibly outdated. Enjoyable melodies, enjoyable harmonies, enjoyable structure, all providing an enjoyable experience to incredibly outdated listeners like me.
You realise 'modernism' covers a lot of music, right? And probably some you'd enjoy. Percy Grainger, Gustav Mahler, Claude Debussy, Samuel Barber, and George Gershwin, to cover a few you might like. Not that that really matters. You're allowed to like this music, and I, a fan of 'modern music' (which also includes music that's over a century old) also like it. The existence of 'modern music' doesn't stop you from being able to enjoy this at all.
@@Rickriquinho Perhaps I knew what you meant, but my point there was just that modernism means something other than what you meant. Either way, my other point stands.

It is not outdated; it is everlasting.
awesome
Is Camillo a relative of Robert Schumann?
Thanks!
Good that Kliegel was partnered by a top flight pianist.
What's the painting if you know? Great upload!

This is real music; let's forget modernism.

@@klop4228 Don't be so manipulative. You know very well what I've meant by modernism.

Ricardo da Mata perhaps you need to expand your musical palette my friend
@@klop4228 Gershwin and Barber are not modernists because modernism is primitive, dear amateur.
