Sam's greatest secret to great art is that you have to rock a Peppa pig shirt while sacrificing souls in a demonic dungeon.
not wrong

This is what I like to see in the art community. Collaboration. Not 'fixing' art and degrading other folk's work.
Well, that doesn't happen in the "mature" art community. This one. The art "commentary" community, is the trashy one. Sam, ErgoJosh, RossDraws, Alicija Nai, Whyt Manga, Keinan Lafferty, Sinix (and many others) etc. THEY are the real art community and watching them will always leave you inspired and ready to go. Meanwhile the art commentary community:
*Cough* Creepshowart.
who does that?
Is this talking about Ethan Becker 😳 cause his videos are memes lol
@@StarryNightxx I hate that people even think for a second he isn't memeing

such a bummer. my art sucks so bad.😣, i wish someone would share their art knowledge and critique my art video. feels like my art will never improve even how hard i try.
@@pogz1 There is no such thing as bad art, only art that can be improved, think in that mindset. Try looking at other people's art and don't a study on them, try to draw in there style or with there colors.
I'm not an expert either but I can give you a tip for your semi realism videos. When you are choosing colors, try not to choose a base color and go less saturated down to black, instead, choose a base color and move the color wheel a little bit to red and choose more saturated shades as you go down to black. As you go darker, keep spinning the color wheel to be more red than your base color, but only move it s little bit or else there will be to much of a difference that it won't look real anymore. I hope that made sense, I can find a video for this and comment the link here.
@@pogz1 This video explains it better than I did: ruclips.net/video/bwkw1tQQIMs/видео.html
@@pogz1 it's becuz you don't practice enough. i know some of my buddy who kept improving steadily while retaining his style . he's not big artist tho

YES. Finally someone destroying the “art style” myth 🤣👏
It’s one of those things that I’ve never cared about but I’ve seen just *flatten* budding artists. Especially when they’re just starting out on social media and seeing *everyone else* freaking out about it too. I wish more advanced artists put the chill on “finding your art style”. Thank you!
YEah, I'm personally not even looking for an artstyle , just going with the flow ya know ? lmao

Sam, I really love your creative artstyle and especially the lighting, but what really separates your art from others I follow is that your art can look amazing in just 1.5 hours. It's also really calming:D. I learn a lot about subsurface scattering and bounce light just from your works.
I'm so in love with Sam's art style like wow i can stare at one piece for hours and not get tired of it. This was a very good video to watch! I dropped everything I was doing when i saw the notif lol thank you for this!!
The collab I didn't know I needed... Love both of y'alls

@@samdoesarts Thanks so much !
You could reveal every single secret about your art and still nobody would be able to copy, what makes every artist unique is their inner sense and yours is trully unique and beautiful
Much appreciation for this video!!
I do my character first then the background. I always do the final lighting first and then I can get a better idea how the character affects the lighting too, like their shadow or if they are reflecting any light or have fire powers. But my style is a lot less paint-y then yours so of course that makes a huge difference on my process.
Sam does art: *You MUST do your background first*
Also sam: proceeds to do the background after

The secret I wanna know is where Sam gets his reference photos from

I’ve been struggling alot to find my art style, then there’s your motivational words.. aaah thanks.
To me your art style is soothing...I'm not an artist, just and admirer.
Your pieces and characters give off a peaceful, not a care in the world, everything is going to be alright feeling and vibe.
Like listening to your favorite song to relax, that's what I feel when I view your creations.
Your style amazes me every single time - the colors and the stylization is simply unmatched. Seeing how you improve the picture and sharing your techniques is an awesome opportunity. Thank you so much for sharing.
I didn’t realise how much I needed this collab until I heard Josh’s voice
As a young artist, Sam has continued to inspire me and my art for the better. It is really incredible how he explains his thought process and emphasis on shadows and light sources. Thank you so much sam!😊
2:08 I fucking love this piece, it's SO DREAMY, SO ETHEREAL! Fuck, Sam, this one is absolutely out of this world. It was so good, and the first that i saw it i was listening to "The Ghost" from Trevor Something.
I almost died, because it was so blissful! So dreamy! Congratulations for this one, it's incredible.
You are such an amazing artist the whole art community is obsessed with you 🥰🥰🥰
That's such a helpful paintover. Seriously many of us have no clue how to take our paintings further, and just seeing your thought process really helps.
There is so much cleverness in what Sam paints. It is not only the level of style, light and the choice of colors. His digital art tells a specific story about each and every character. One can really feel what is their mood and almost what they are thinking. Somehow, this translates to us and we feel the same emotion, which is what makes it so vibrant.
this feels like i'm learning art and listening to asmr at the same time. both your voices are so good.
"Why are you still here"
Me: I don't want to work, so I wait.
Really like how calm your voice is, very comforting

All seriousness very cool breakdown vid on your style, keep up the amazing content. Much love
* Gasp * Sam has finally spilled his secrets.....
You can watch this to get tips but you gotta have Sam's hand, brain and reference to draw exactly like him.💕
You recently inspired me to start digital art. I'd like to thank you even if you never see this! I'm getting a stylist soon and am currently working on the sketchbook app. This is starting me all the way back as a beginner again (even though I'm still technically a beginner in traditional, I used to do it a lot but I started again 3 months ago) I will certainly be using your content to help. Much love!
Light, even when it's subtle, is a HUGE characteristic that affects the mood and vibe of the piece.
I think one of the most helpful things about your videos is that you make it clear how much you just... do your own thing so your art will look the way you want. I'm at a stage where I can't really get any more help from youtube videos and it's my mindset that's blocking my progression the most. Leaving sketch lines in, for example - in art school I wanted to do that but was constantly told that even my polished artwork was "rough" and that it had potential for when it was "fully rendered." Now I feel like I can't make art unless every square pixel is over-polished, so I don't do it at all. Recently, I posted an unfinished practice on my art blog and was shocked at how many people thought it was a full piece. Made me rethink some things.
So the freedom you allow yourself is helping me. Thank you :>
Honestly, I just love when creators I follow randomly pop a collab like these, just nice to see the two Masters I follow "fight"
I love both channels so much!
This channel has taught me about as much ART as I've learned in five years of art class... we're very lucky to have you Sam :)
Wow amazing you are star artist
Nah no matter what secrets you share and how detailed it is. No one can never copy or duplicate your styles its just so unique!
Really appreciate how open you are about your process and general style development tips. Truly admirable
the funny art man *got caught in 4k*
If you haven't learned by now, always stay til the end of a Samdoesart video like you're watching Marvel credits :) or you'll miss out
I feel like I’ve learned so much just by watching both of you work. Thanks for this!
I like that you were supper polite, saying that the proportions were off, like a lot :) But you called it personal preferences! :) Cool!
1:54 WHY HAVE I NOT SEEN THIS PIECE BEFORE
"No need to rush in finding your art style" I needed that. Thank you!
You really help me find confidence in my art. I know I can keep going and learning. Thank you so much Sam.
"And not only does he stylize the form, and lighting...he also stylizes the BUT" 🤣🤣
yeah I usually stylize my characters with those wide jaws and wide eyes. Looked pretty spot on....
I like how he uses paint blobs to paint the drawings, you can see the work processes in the paint, this guy is ganna be one of my inspirations in my future art style
my two fav art youtubers in one video......MINDBLOWN!!!!!
the semi-aggressisve "i'ma end this man's whole career" but in calm sam voice is just perfect
Just a before and after is what I wanna see. This is awesome, Sam. I'm not a digital artist, but I hire a graphic designer and the more I know the better. You have FANTASTIC content and keep it up. i love seeing it.
What i know about good artist secret is their hard work and lot of experience, and their fundamentals are very clear I know because I am working on my fundamentals and working on that is tiring and hard working and artist like you have overcome that😊😊😊😊.
I love your style it's so beautiful and expressive.

Wow I learned a lot in this video 😳 I didn’t realize a lot of things about ur style like how saturated your shadows are. I always thought they were more saturated so it was interesting to see where u picked ur shadow color in the color chart. I LIK DIS VIDEO SM 🙇🏻♀️
Your art brings me to life. It’s perfectly your own. Thank you for being you
I have always been bad at portraits and I admire your art very very much! Thank you for this! It inspires me to go back and start practicing again
You just became my favorite artist to follow. I appreciate your humor and humility in these videos. I love your art style and I've learned so much especially since I recently got an iPad also using ProCreate. Thank you for these tips. I will apply them as best I can in my own style!

A collab I wasn't expecting, but wanted to see it happen ⭐️
best artist to vibe with while you urself create art
Wow! Thanks Sam and Josh...I like to hear that you like to leave the sketch in as well. I have always loved the effect the sketch contributes to the creation process!
His style remind me of Disney. I don't know why, it just gives me that vibe. Maybe cause of the big eyesss.
Now I wanna see Sam do an ErgoJosh style and make Josh critique it!
istg this man lays his pinky on a drawing and its suddenly 10x better. he did like 2 stokes and the face went from a frog to a goddess I DONT UNDERSTAND
Best collab with my favorite youtube artists! I Learnt SO much about contrast here, and how to apply it on my art. Thank you so mych for this, Sammy!
But the paint over is so gooooooooood although it's rough. It makes me so happy just watching this. And you're welcome.
i love your style! i wish i could draw in your style. actually, you're the reason i am still working on humans.
