- It is summer here in Japan and we climbed to the top of Mount Fuji. Instead of the usual route from 5th station, we started our climb from station 1.
We hope you enjoy the video! :)
Note: This itinerary allows us to summit Mt Fuji on day 2 and another time on day 3 morning to catch the sunrise. This plan is also subjected to the individual's physical fitness and the environment. So do your training, toughen up your leg muscles before heading for such feat.

I'm a Japanese but I have never climbed Mt. Fuji, however your video made me feel as if I were there. These days, the increasing number of foreign tourists has become a constant problem everywhere in Japan, especially at Mt. Fuji. I hope everyone is like you! You and your friends look well prepared, well equipped and very pleasant people. Also, I've seen many other Fuji climb videos but yours is the best. Kudos on an excellent, touching and beautifully made vlog. I (a Malaysian senior citizen) summited on 28th Aug 23 on a day hike from 7am to 5pm, grateful to God for fine weather and injury free climb. I love the unity and bond of comradeship amongst the 4 of you which made your climb an memorable and unforgetable experience. I found my climb tough difficult and challenging and despite doing it with 2 other ladies, i was alone 95 per cent of the time. But yes the scenery out of the mountain was unique and awesome. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful experience with us.

@melvinexploreslife I did a day hike... took the earliest bus at 5am from Fujisan Parking Lot, reached 5th station at 5.45am ... acclimatised for 1 hr... started climb at 6.45am, summited at 1.15pm and descended at 1.30pm to reach 5th station at 5pm .. took the 5.30pm bus back (last bus 6.30pm). I shuddered to think what would have happened to me if I sprained my knee or ankle (which could easily happen) during descend alone. Thank God all went well. 😊

great plan to make the video, ascent to the top on day 2 to have a great video, and then ascent again early morning on day 3 for the sunrise. congrats! We hiked from the bottom as well last August, the bullet climb way 😂

We also took the same route that you did from the Fuji Sengen Shrine going to station 1. We started early morning and really took our time to reach the summit before the sunrise and back to the Fuji Sengen Shrine before lunch of the following day.

Isn't the top of mount fuji supposed to be covered by snow?
How long is it in total to hike from base to summit please?
There are different variations of this climb. Some will speed climb in a day which is not advisable. But if you stay in the huts for one night at station 5, I would say 2 days and 1 night to summit :)
@@melvinexploreslife thanks I am staying on hut station 6. My plan is start at base hike to station 6 sleep until 1am then hike to summit for sunrise. Just trying to figure out what time to start hiking from the base station 1
@@AngleseyFightNight Thanks for sharing! If you are starting at Fujiyoshida Sengen Shrine (Usually the starting point), that is about 3-4 hours of hiking to 5th station about 10km gradual climb. Then from 5th to 6th station is not that far. All in all, I will consider about 5-6 hours with good breaks to reach Station 6th.
