    Here's what I've learned about science in general. It's all speculative. No doctor can give you a definite answer, but they can give you a definite price. Thanks for sharing this info guys.

    • @Pwanx0w
      @Pwanx0w 4 года назад +14

      lol it's not with speculations that you increase life expectancy by around 30 years, reduce infant death rates to near 0% when it was like 25%, make severe ilnesses dissapear with vaccines etc. And i'm only talking about medicine. If you look at science in general as you say, there is even less speculation.

    • @ThrivingwithOneil
      @ThrivingwithOneil 4 года назад +3

      Pwanx0w great point but that’s not all tied to science. There are numerous changes in society that have aided this progression. John Hopkins noted years ago that the 3rd leading cause of death in the U.S. is medical errors. Not withstanding all the good that science and medicine has done. It’s just good to be aware of both sides of the coin. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and insight.

    • @Padam91
      @Padam91 Год назад +4

      Science is not really speculative in itself, but when you study a complex system like the human body you will encounter the challenge of attribution. In other words, what other things could explain correlation or lack thereof. It is true, however, that we don't have an absolute certainty about anything in life, but that is not an argument against science.

    • @ThrivingwithOneil
      @ThrivingwithOneil Год назад +1

      @@Padam91 Great point! I'm not arguing against science. What I'm saying is that the price is absolute and precise, but the science is not. The argument could be that the economics should align with the science, but that is not the case. I could have articulated that better in my original commit. Thank you for the insight.

    In relation to the lack of established PRP administration protocols:
    Some clinics administer PRP treatment by 'smearing' it over the scalp, followed by DermaPen/Dermarolling over the top of the 'smeared' PRP. Is there any evidence that this approach is effective or is it wasteful?
    I would imagine some benefits would be improved patient compliance and that the 'smeared' PRP could be 'carried through' to the appropriate depth with the subsequent DermaPen/Dermarolling. However, this also seems like a waste of the majority of the isolated PRP, not only in terms of 'non-carried through' PRP. Is there any evidence for absorption of PRP through the epidermis?!

    Great video. I’m interested in PRP treatment though it is so cost inefficient as you will require x3 maintainence injections to keep the hair that has grown with this method a year. That’s $2,500 year, for the rest of your life. Alternatively, along with Finasteride and Minoxidil, you could swap out PRP for Microneedling at home with a proper $300+ pen, and perform once a week with 1.5mm needles. This works in such a similar way as it creates tiny wounds which draw blood to heal the area - and this blood contains growth factors like PRP. Could also consider LLLT and spending $500 on a laser diode hat. These attack the issue from multiple angles and compound the growth benefits. And are dramatically more cost effective for long term use. PRP will cost $2,500 every year for the rest of your life to maintain gains.

      You need 5-6 PRPs in the first year. For maintenance 1-2 is enough. But PRP is not the first step treatment. If you‘ve good results with Minoxidil, Finesterid, Microneedling or other cheaper treatments, then PRP is not necessary.

    I'd be curious how this stacks with TRT as I've read studies that say exogenous test use can increase platelet count drastically. It seems like if you have the money, PRP combined with trt or a test cycle can be complementary in the sense that you're increasing your own platelet count drastically and then injecting them all back in your scalp either canceling out the hair loss from the steroids or possibly even stimulating growth depending on other treatments

    I have a few questions on PRP. My blood has a low platelet count. Would you have to harvest more blood to compensate the lack of platelets? And also, does having a low platelet count have any detrimental affects to MPB?

      Won't work. PRP with Acell seems to boost the count.

    @The Hair Loss Show I have done a direct hair implantation procedure for the front/top and crown in April 2023. The results are already showing so I'm happy. I was also thinking of doing a PRP on 1st August. Do I really need it. My procedure was really painful and lost a lot of blood. I hate needles. Do I really need PRP because I've already also ordered the minoxidil + finasteride spray.

      @@user-wr9dh6yv1o I see great results. Now it been a year since I've had the procedure on 24th and 25th April 2023. To be honest I used the minoxidil spray (not the foam) more frequently than the finasteride pills because I feel somewhat uncomfortable in the stomach when I do. Note that it's different from one person to another. Another bad thing I did was not have them do the prp injections at least once a month for 3 months at least because I watched a video on how it's done and was afraid to go through the agonising pain during the procedure where even after 7 injections of anesthetic i still felt pain!

    No one's answered this question elsewhrere, I'm hoping one of you gents can: is there the potential of shock loss with PRP and/or microneedling? Certainly damage potential with the latter.

    • @ShockwavesFTW
      @ShockwavesFTW 2 года назад +1

      That’s what I was wondering too - from the comments in the videos, it looks like most people experience a shedding phase.

    • @dr.m6152
      @dr.m6152 Год назад

      People do experience follicle shock with microneedling that's mainly because if a derma roller is used aggressively it can stretch the follicles. Prp might cause shedding by pushing out the vellus hair to make way for terminal hair, this is why it's important to have 5-6 sessions of prp for full results

  • @KoolA1d
    @KoolA1d 3 года назад +3

    My question is regarding the PRP injection procedure specifically: I’m going to a specialist facility for hair loss, paying ~$1k per PRP session. (1) How complicated or sophisticated is the actual injection procedure? I ask because i have had one session so far and the doctor just made one injection on each side of my temples. It was my understanding that they needed to inject in the hair follicle individually? but he said he was injecting along some sort of “plane” and he knew how to do it. It took him all but 5 minutes and I was just a bit surprised i paid such a hefty sum for so little of his time…
    (2) Should i be willing to let a nurse practitioner perform the injection procedure, or should I generally opt for the doctor himself? They are trying to book the nurse practitioner to do it but since I am paying so much if it might make a difference I would prefer the doctor? Maybe this procedure is super simple and effectiveness doesn’t generally increase w/ more experience from the person conducting the procedure, in which case I should be fine with the nurse practitioner? Thanks.
