Assalamu alaikum I'm curious to know one thing, how did the people on Mecca get to know about the martyrdom of Hussain ra. You did mention there were a couple of hints, but apart from that, how the message of Hussain ra's martyrdom was sent? And what happened after that?
For those asking how could Mu''aaiyah (RA) allow his son, Yazid to be the Caliph, IslamQA has a good explanation islamqa.info/en/186682. Here are some excerpts: "When Mu‘aawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) saw the extent of the dissent, division and turmoil among the people, and the extent to which they were prone to internal conflict, he feared that their division might become worse after he died, and that dissent and turmoil would increase. So he decided that the best solution was to take allegiance for his son after him. He consulted the senior Sahaabah, the leaders of the people and the governors of the regions, and they all give their consent to that. Delegations came agreeing to swear allegiance to Yazeed, and many of the Sahaabah also swore allegiance to him, to the extent that al-Haafiz ‘Abd al-Ghani al-Maqdisi said: His caliphate was valid; sixty of the companions of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) including Ibn ‘Umar, swore allegiance to him. It is proven in Saheeh al-Bukhaari (7111) that Ibn ‘Umar swore allegiance to Yazeed." "What prompted Mu‘aawiyah to give precedence to his son Yazeed and appoint him as caliph, rather than anyone else, was the belief that this would serve the interests of the Muslims by uniting them and bringing them together behind one man, with the approval of the decision-makers at that time, who were from Banu Umayyah, because at that time Banu Umayyah would not accept anyone (as caliph) except one of their own number. They were the strongest clan of Quraysh and the ones who had the greatest influence." "Moreover, the most that can be said concerning this matter is that Mu‘aawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was the caliph of the Muslims, tried to work out what was the best option concerning this issue. He would have two rewards if he got it right, and he would have one reward if he got it wrong, in sha Allah. What happened in this case or others of imperfection or shortcomings on his part may well be overlooked and forgiven by the Most Gracious, Most Merciful, and the Companions of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) are more deserving of being excused and pardoned by Allah, may He be glorified and exalted." And Allah knows best
If Muawiya RadiAllahu Taala Anhu knew what history will be written after he would appoint Yazeed Bin Muawiya his successors he wouldn’t have done that. Yazeed was never known to be a fasiq and Fajir. Surely and without a doubt Hussain RadiAllahu Taala Anhu was more deserving and befitting of Khilafa. It’s also reported by Ibn Kathir RH that Yazeed never ordered the killing of Hussain RadiAllahu Taala Anhu but he became a zalim when he never punished the ones who committed this catastrophe. Furthermore, Muawiya RA Anhu has nothing to do with what Yazeed did, every man will bare his own deeds on the day of judgement. Hussain RadiAllahu Taala Anhu is a leader of the youth of Jannah that his stature in the eyes of Allah Alhamdulillah but Muawiya RA was also blessed with being a scribe of revelation as it was revealed. Do you know that the son of Yazeed when he became Khalifa and in one narration he was only in his teens he gathered all the governors of his empire and once he gathered them all he told them this is a khilafa that has a blood of Rasool Sallallahu Aleyhi Wassallam’s beloved grandson on him and I don’t want any thing to do with it. And he left and lived in seclusion as a random no one. Imagine the leadership of 1/3 of the known world the most powerful man but he left because of his love to Hussain RadiAllahu Taala Anhuma. Before you start judging, kindly read the history. Yazeed is a zalim without a doubt and his affair is within the hands of Allah InshaAllah and Hussain bin Ali RadiAllahu Taala Anhuma is a leader of the youth in Jannah. Alhamdulillah. Muawiya Bin Abu Sufyan RadiAllahu Taala Anhuma InshaAllah will also be in Jannah InshaAllah May Allah Azzawajal bless us with their companionship in Jannatul Firdoss Aamen
Assalamualikum waRahmatullahi waBarakatuhu let me clarify my comments about Yazeed. Majority of the ulema have agreed of Yazeed being a fasiq and a fajir. But Muawiya RA didn’t know about his fisq in his life time. I am agreeing with you that he was a fasiq as per the description of the Ulema of Ahlul Sunnah and following are the statements. famous ‘Al Bidayah Wal Nihayah’: ‘Traditions inform us that Yazeed loved worldly vices, would drink, listen to kept the company of boys with no facial hair [civil expression for pedophilia boys, a form of homosexuality], played drums, kept dogs [civil expression for bestiality], not a day would go by when he was not in a drunken state.’ 2. Ibn Katheer in Al Bidayah Volume 8 stated: ‘Muslim was ordered to ransack Medina for three days. Yazeed committed a major sin. Sahaba and their children were slaughtered openly; other heinous acts were also perpetuated. We have already mentioned that he had Ibn Ziyad kill the grandson of Rasulullah's (Peace & blessings be upon him) Imam Hussain and his companions. In those three days in Madina, it is difficult to mention the type of acts that were carried out. By doing this act Yazeed wanted to secure his governance, in the same way Almighty Allah broke the neck of every Pharoah, the true King (Allah) also broke the neck of Yazeed.’ 3. One who attacks Medina is cursed We read in al Bidaya Volume 8: ‘Rasulullah (Peace & blessings be upon him) said whoever perpetuated injustice and frightened the residents of Medina, the curse (la’nat) of Almighty Allah, His Angels and all people is on such a person’ 4. Ibn Atheer’s comments on Yazeed In Tareekh al Kamil Volume 3 page 450 Ibn Atheer narrates from Munzir bin Zabeer: ‘Verily Yazeed rewarded me with 100,000 dirhams but this cannot stop me from highlighting his state, By Allah he is a drunkard…’ 5. Ibn Atheer’s comments on Yazeed In ‘Siyar A’lam Al-Nubala’ Volume 4 pages 37-38, Dhahabi narrates: ‘Ziyad Hurshee narrates ‘Yazeed gave me alcohol to drink, I had never drunk alcohol like that before and I enquired where he had obtained its ingredients’. Yazeed replied ‘it is made of sweet pomegranate, honey from Isfahan, sugar from Hawaz and grapes from Burdah…Yazeed indulged in alcohol and would participate in actions that opposed the dictates set by Almighty Allah.’ 6. Ibn Jauzi’s comments on Yazeed ‘the drunkard’ Ibn Jauzi in Wafa al-Wafa: ‘Yazeed appointed his cousin Uthman bin Muhammad bin Abu Sufyan as Governor of Madina. He sent a delegation to visit Yazeed who bore gifts so that they might take the oath of allegiance to him. Upon their return they said ‘We have returned having visited a man who has no religion, he drinks, plays instruments, keeps the company of singers and dogs [civil word for bestiality], we declare that we have broken our allegiance to him. Abdullah bin Abi Umro bin Hafs Mukhzumee commented ‘Yazeed gave me gifts. But the reality is this man is an enemy of Almighty Allah and a drunkard. I shall separate myself from him in the same way that I remove my turban [from my head]….’ 7. Ibn Hajr’s comments on Yazeed In Sawaiqh al Muhriqa: ‘One group have deemed Yazeed to be a kaafir, another has stated he was a Muslim but a fasiq (transgressor), a fajir (one that commits debauchery) and a drunkard. There is consensus over his fisq (transgression). One party of Ulema have stated that you can curse him by name, this includes individuals such as Ibn Jauzi and Ahmad. One group made up of individuals such as Ibn Jauzi deem Yazeed a kaafir, others say he was not a kaafir but rather this is a matter that has caused a difference of opinion. The majority of Ahl’ul Sunnah all agree that he was a fasiq (transgressor), a fajir (one that commits debauchery) and a drunkard.' 'Loving and glorifying him (Yazid) is not done “EXCEPT BY A HERETIC” who has void belief because he (Yazid) had such characteristics that his lover deserves to be faithless, because to love and hate just for the sake of God is a sign of faith. [Publisher's name: Dar ul Kutb al iLmiyyah, Beirut, Lebanon, Book name: al-Imta bil al-Arba'in al-Matbainatus Samah, Author: Imam Ibn Hajr al Asqalani, Publication date: 1997, Page No. 96] Yahya bin Abdul Mulk bin Abi Ghania "WHO WAS AMONGST THIQA NARRATORS" he heard from Nawfl bin Abi Aqrab "WHO IS THIQA" he narrates: Once in the gathering of Umar Bin Abdul Aziz (Allah be pleased with him), people talked about Yazid bin Muawiya, someone among the people mentioned Yazid with the title of Ameer ul Momineen, hearing this Hadrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz (Allah be pleased with him) replied (in anger): You have called Yazeed Amir Ul Mominein? Then he gave order of 20 lashes to be given to the person [Imam Ibn Hajr al Asqalani in Tahdhib ut Tahdhib, Volume No. 6, Page No. 313]. 8. Muhaddith Shah Abdul Aziz’s comments on Yazeed In ‘Sirush Shahadhathayn’, Shah Abdul Aziz, the great Muhadith states: ’Imam Husayn did not give baiyah to Yazeed because he was a drunkard, a fasiq and Dhaalim.’ 9. Ibn Taymiyah’s (not from the Ahlus Sunnah wa Jamaat) condemnation of unjust Yazeed Ibn Taymiyah in Minhajj: ‘Yazeed had the sword and hence he had the power to deal with anyone that opposed him. He had the power to reward his subjects with the contents of the treasury, and could also withhold their rights. He had the power to punish criminals; it is in this context that we can understand that he was the khalifah and king. Issues such as Yazeed’s piety or lack of it, or his honesty or lack of it, is another matter. In all of his actions Yazeed was not just, there is no dispute amongst the people of Islam on this matter.’ 10. Imam Dhahabi condemns Yazid He (Yazid) was a disgusting Nasibi (i.e. those who hate Ahlul bayt). He drank and did evil. He started his kingdom with the killing of the Shahid al-Hussain (Allah be pleased with him) and ended it with the incident of al-Harra (i.e. besiegement of Madina which also makes him directly liable for Lanah as sahih ahadith prove). Hence the people hated him, he was not blessed in his life, and many took up arms against him after Imam Hussain such as the people of Madina - they rose for the sake of Allah[As Siyar al Alam an Nabula, Volume No. 4, Page No. 37-38] Imam Dhahabi writes: I say: 'When Yazid did to the people of Madina what he did and killed al-Hussain and his brothers and progeny, and Yazid drank alcohol, and performed abominable things, then the people hated him and rose up against him more than once. God didn't bless his life and Abu Bilal Mirdas bin Adya al-Hanzali rose against him.' [Tarikh al-Islam: wa-tabaqat al-mashahir wa-al-a`lam, Volume 005, Page No. 30] The list goes on and on. YAZEED WAS A FASIQ AND A FAJIR BUT MUAWIYA RADIALLAHU TAALA HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. Allah knows best
Muawiyah used to do tabarra on imam Ali in jummah khutbas how could he be rightful companion there had to be one person right and other wrong from the start banu ummaya wanted the khilafat

Sahl b. Sa`d reported that a person from the offspring of Marwan was appointed as the governor of Medina. He called Sahl b. Sa`d and ordered him to abuse `Ali. Sahl refused to do that. He (the governor) said to him:
If you do not agree to it (at least) say: May Allah curse Abu Turab. Sahl said: There was no name dearer to `Ali than Abu Turab (for it was given to him by the Prophet himself) and he felt delighted when he was called by this name. He (the governor) said to him: Narrate to us the story of his being named as Abu Turab. He said: Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) came to the house of Fatima and he did not find `Ali in the house; whereupon he said: Where is your uncle's son? She said: (There cropped up something) between me and him which had annoyed him with me. He went out and did not rest here. Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) asked a person to find out where he was. He came and said: Allah's Messenger, he is sleeping in the mosque. Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) came to him and found him lying in the mosque and saw that his mantle had slipped from his back and his back was covered with dust and Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) began to wipe it away from him (from the body of Hadrat `Ali) saying: Get up, covered with dust (Abu Turab); get up, covered with dust.

Assalamu alaikum
I'm curious to know one thing, how did the people on Mecca get to know about the martyrdom of Hussain ra.
You did mention there were a couple of hints, but apart from that, how the message of Hussain ra's martyrdom was sent? And what happened after that?
What happened during siffin and jamal war? Who was right and who was wrong? How could muaywai allow yazid to be a leader when he is known for the sins
SubhanAllah
For those asking how could Mu''aaiyah (RA) allow his son, Yazid to be the Caliph, IslamQA has a good explanation islamqa.info/en/186682. Here are some excerpts:
"When Mu‘aawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) saw the extent of the dissent, division and turmoil among the people, and the extent to which they were prone to internal conflict, he feared that their division might become worse after he died, and that dissent and turmoil would increase. It is proven in Saheeh al-Bukhaari (7111) that Ibn ‘Umar swore allegiance to Yazeed."
"What prompted Mu‘aawiyah to give precedence to his son Yazeed and appoint him as caliph, rather than anyone else, was the belief that this would serve the interests of the Muslims by uniting them and bringing them together behind one man, with the approval of the decision-makers at that time, who were from Banu Umayyah, because at that time Banu Umayyah would not accept anyone (as caliph) except one of their own number. They were the strongest clan of Quraysh and the ones who had the greatest influence."
"Moreover, the most that can be said concerning this matter is that Mu‘aawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was the caliph of the Muslims, tried to work out what was the best option concerning this issue. He would have two rewards if he got it right, and he would have one reward if he got it wrong, in sha Allah. What happened in this case or others of imperfection or shortcomings on his part may well be overlooked and forgiven by the Most Gracious, Most Merciful, and the Companions of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) are more deserving of being excused and pardoned by Allah, may He be glorified and exalted."
And Allah knows best
😢😢😢😢
With respect, Ashura and muharram has nothing to with what happened in karbala. Ulama should know this better
Muawiya was illigtimate to start with
If muawiya is a righteous man, why would he chose his son for khilafah .. he must know his son’s character..
I am agreeing with you that he was a fasiq as per the description of the Ulema of Ahlul Sunnah and following are the statements.
famous ‘Al Bidayah Wal Nihayah’:
‘Traditions inform us that Yazeed loved worldly vices, would drink, listen to kept the company of boys with no facial hair [civil expression for pedophilia boys, a form of homosexuality], played drums, kept dogs [civil expression for bestiality], not a day would go by when he was not in a drunken state.’
2. Ibn Katheer in Al Bidayah Volume 8 stated:
‘Muslim was ordered to ransack Medina for three days. By doing this act Yazeed wanted to secure his governance, in the same way Almighty Allah broke the neck of every Pharoah, the true King (Allah) also broke the neck of Yazeed.’
3. One who attacks Medina is cursed
We read in al Bidaya Volume 8: ‘Rasulullah (Peace & blessings be upon him) said whoever perpetuated injustice and frightened the residents of Medina, the curse (la’nat) of Almighty Allah, His Angels and all people is on such a person’
4. Ibn Atheer’s comments on Yazeed
In Tareekh al Kamil Volume 3 page 450 Ibn Atheer narrates from Munzir bin Zabeer: ‘Verily Yazeed rewarded me with 100,000 dirhams but this cannot stop me from highlighting his state, By Allah he is a drunkard…’
5. Ibn Atheer’s comments on Yazeed
In ‘Siyar A’lam Al-Nubala’ Volume 4 pages 37-38, Dhahabi narrates: ‘Ziyad Hurshee narrates ‘Yazeed gave me alcohol to drink, I had never drunk alcohol like that before and I enquired where he had obtained its ingredients’. Yazeed replied ‘it is made of sweet pomegranate, honey from Isfahan, sugar from Hawaz and grapes from Burdah…Yazeed indulged in alcohol and would participate in actions that opposed the dictates set by Almighty Allah.’
6. Ibn Jauzi’s comments on Yazeed ‘the drunkard’
Ibn Jauzi in Wafa al-Wafa: ‘Yazeed appointed his cousin Uthman bin Muhammad bin Abu Sufyan as Governor of Madina. I shall separate myself from him in the same way that I remove my turban [from my head]….’
7. Ibn Hajr’s comments on Yazeed
In Sawaiqh al Muhriqa: ‘One group have deemed Yazeed to be a kaafir, another has stated he was a Muslim but a fasiq (transgressor), a fajir (one that commits debauchery) and a drunkard.
The majority of Ahl’ul Sunnah all agree that he was a fasiq (transgressor), a fajir (one that commits debauchery) and a drunkard.'
'Loving and glorifying him (Yazid) is not done “EXCEPT BY A HERETIC” who has void belief because he (Yazid) had such characteristics that his lover deserves to be faithless, because to love and hate just for the sake of God is a sign of faith. [Publisher's name: Dar ul Kutb al iLmiyyah, Beirut, Lebanon, Book name: al-Imta bil al-Arba'in al-Matbainatus Samah, Author: Imam Ibn Hajr al Asqalani, Publication date: 1997, Page No. 96]
Yahya bin Abdul Mulk bin Abi Ghania "WHO WAS AMONGST THIQA NARRATORS" he heard from Nawfl bin Abi Aqrab "WHO IS THIQA" he narrates: Once in the gathering of Umar Bin Abdul Aziz (Allah be pleased with him), people talked about Yazid bin Muawiya, someone among the people mentioned Yazid with the title of Ameer ul Momineen, hearing this Hadrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz (Allah be pleased with him) replied (in anger): You have called Yazeed Amir Ul Mominein? Then he gave order of 20 lashes to be given to the person [Imam Ibn Hajr al Asqalani in Tahdhib ut Tahdhib, Volume No. 6, Page No. 313].
8. Muhaddith Shah Abdul Aziz’s comments on Yazeed
In ‘Sirush Shahadhathayn’, Shah Abdul Aziz, the great Muhadith states: ’Imam Husayn did not give baiyah to Yazeed because he was a drunkard, a fasiq and Dhaalim.’
9. Ibn Taymiyah’s (not from the Ahlus Sunnah wa Jamaat) condemnation of unjust Yazeed
Ibn Taymiyah in Minhajj: ‘Yazeed had the sword and hence he had the power to deal with anyone that opposed him. In all of his actions Yazeed was not just, there is no dispute amongst the people of Islam on this matter.’
10. Imam Dhahabi condemns Yazid
He (Yazid) was a disgusting Nasibi (i.e. those who hate Ahlul bayt). 4, Page No. 37-38]
Imam Dhahabi writes: I say: 'When Yazid did to the people of Madina what he did and killed al-Hussain and his brothers and progeny, and Yazid drank alcohol, and performed abominable things, then the people hated him and rose up against him more than once. God didn't bless his life and Abu Bilal Mirdas bin Adya al-Hanzali rose against him.' [Tarikh al-Islam: wa-tabaqat al-mashahir wa-al-a`lam, Volume 005, Page No. 30]
The list goes on and on. YAZEED WAS A FASIQ AND A FAJIR BUT MUAWIYA RADIALLAHU TAALA HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. Allah knows best
