Carrier ops are hands down my favourite part of Il-2 1946.
When they finally become part of Il-2 Great Battles is when I might finally give it a go. But, we are so spoiled by the number of aircraft and maps now in Il2-1946 that Great Battles just seems so limited, in spite of the obviously better graphics and more detailed aircraft and environment.
Eddie I dropped IL2 1946 for Cliffs of Dover new modern graphics easy mission builder, but very limited. I went back to 1946. I have the entire BoS series I do hope it moves to the pacific it is a good game again I felt the limitations, and went back to 1946. I wonder if BoS is just toying with our emotions pay to play wise? That is why the majority of my combat flight sim time is with 1946, still a good game!
F4U and WW2 Marianas map coming to DCS.
@@yoosta22 I have DCS, and I am looking forward to the F4U. The Marianas map is free. The new map is stunning however from what i can see it is in a modern era not WW2.

@@yoosta22 that is great news. Do you run DCS? I have both FW’s 109k4 the p51 and the spitfire. The K4 is my favorite especially when I land a hit with the 30mm auto canon.

I hope the video was useful. I remember way back when not knowing what the chalk brakes were for and they were not mapped so I was stuck on a plane that would not move till I figured it out.
@@callsignnictmere465 very useful thanks. Made my first catapult launch with Corsair. Then crashed nose over landing on peleliu.
@@yoosta22 congrats on the catapult take off. Landing can be hazardous even on a land based runway. Are you putting flaps down on final approach? The F4U has some tricky flaps. Full down acts like an air brake sometimes.
@@callsignnictmere465 yes. Full flaps. Touchdown is good, when it slows down it noses over. Might be the training mission

@@hariszark7396 In vanila the controls are all over the place with my HOTAS set up. No amount of tweaking seems to stabilize flight. But with BAT, Doug (aka my old Aces High buddy _Nichtmere,_ ) seems to have that problem licked

Doug, does the BAT mod fix the flight modeling wobbly Wonky controls? Please Doug, _boost your Mic between 250% & 400%_ on OBS so we can hear you better.
I am not sure about the wobble on the controls I do however feel that flying high altitude difficult for me to line up a shot floating around. But below 15k feet I do not see any issues.
