Hi there. I am interested in making my own bonsai pots. I have been doing pottery for about 1 year now and I have a few bonsai trees that are young but I hate the retail pots they are in. What would you say are the most important aspects to bear in mind when throwing or building bonsai pots. I look forward to hearing from you.
Lee-Ann McCleland Very much like if you were buying a pot, size, depth, and drainage holes are all important aspects. From a more technical side, you should use stoneware clay and fire it to cone 6 (not 06) so it will be strong enough to withstand use as a pot. Good luck!

Aaron Stratten Thank you. I do use stoneware and fire to cone 6. I will do a couple of practice ones and see how they come out.
