It was Called Uncle Charlie's, it was a great place that opened up in the 80's when MTV first came about, Big video screens and TV monitors....Closed in 1997....Rare and very cool video's.
Bang bang! (You've been shot!) It's great that different folks have different tastes.... I'm not a huge fan of Kim's early stuff, but when "Another Step" came out, I was hooked! Fun to dance to! And "You Came" is one of my favorite songs evah! Cheers!
I think I'd listened to Kim's song on the radio when I was little back in 1980s. She's a best sexy English singer I've ever love that she sings the remake of Diana Ross & The Supremes' version, Keep Me Hanging On.
@atlffee - OMG you are so right we used to watch that vid of Stevie and try to copy her dance steps in that crowded backroom. Seems like only yesterday and not twentry three years ago.
@TheMjblades I agree. "Kids In America" is a fair song. However, it is not a song that should be taken to seriously. This song on the other hand is a song that would be make someone a Kim Wilde supporter! It is infectious, classy, persuasive!
DID KIM WILDE TURN ME GAY? I always loved this video in the 80's, but I thought I was in love with Kim, and I am, but looking back, I watched it for more than that! THANK YOU MS WILDE I LOVES YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
The guys in this video are so hot. Especially the short spikey haired guy who is dancing when the video ends. Mmm. Kim is amazing though. This is one of her best songs.
I have always and still do loves Kim Wilde. Snapshots it AWESOME! This was not one of my fav songs, but I loved the video. Now I know why. Because its a big ol gay fest!
I was 14 when this came out and it made me gay, lol. Ok, didn't make me gay but it sure pushed it a long. This video and the international male catalog.
I actually do not think there is something gay with this video. I really don't understand why it would. Of course, I understand that gays could enjoy the video. I actually enjoy the the whole video, but that is because I put myself in their place. You could see it like they are fantasizing how Kim would touch them. For me that is what the video illustrates, the guys emotions when thinking about this woman, but being to shy. And not only that it is complex... now bring on the gay accusations :D
I'm sorry, but there was ever no such thing as dance floor filler before this song made wax, then this would definitely be the start of it. As much as I wanted Kim Wilde to rise above her debut album I never got the impression that she ever did. You clearly feel differently and power to you... As for the output of any American band in the 80s. If you are going to over look all the black music that Kim was imitating ( Prince, SOS Band, Cherelle, The Time, etc) then you've just lost credibility
My God- i remember those days..Mr Arckley and Adam Perry. The London west end night life of the late eighties..I wonder what these guys look like now, 20 years later..I know Thomas has blown up and living in LA as a bar tender..Looking back, they look so gay although Adam shagged thousands of birds and Thomas could tell you a thing or 2 about Simon Cowell's ex bird....
tease and dares was really one of her worst record, another step one of the best with Close . This song is really good and the video is an example that one can be sexy and of good taste at the same time!
Was it really banned from MTV? And that's what prevented this song from being a hit? Joking or what?... Even if the song has arrangements similar to G. Michael's '(I want your) Sex', I don't understand... Kim just shoots dead in this clip and song!!!
I was a V.J. in a video bar in NYC Greenwich Village....we played this video every night, It's soooo good to see it again!!
It was Called Uncle Charlie's, it was a great place that opened up in the 80's when MTV first came about, Big video screens and TV monitors....Closed in 1997....Rare and very cool video's.
Never get tired of this
Best Kim Wilde song...Love this longer version
What a great song and video, good old Kim never lets me down
Bang bang! (You've been shot!) It's great that different folks have different tastes.... I'm not a huge fan of Kim's early stuff, but when "Another Step" came out, I was hooked! Fun to dance to! And "You Came" is one of my favorite songs evah! Cheers!

First, she is channeling Kim Basinger in '9 1/2 Weeks' in this video. Second: She looks and sounds amazing, so good for her!
superrr,musicaaaa....
@hobojon ... my badlands memory is "i can't wait" by stevie nicks. "say you really want me" is my capitol corral (raliegh) memory. :)
@atlffee - OMG you are so right we used to watch that vid of Stevie and try to copy her dance steps in that crowded backroom. Seems like only yesterday and not twentry three years ago.

Kids In America had a distinct edge to it that makes it timeless. This sounds like dance floor filler of the era.
i like this remix
DID KIM WILDE TURN ME GAY? I always loved this video in the 80's, but I thought I was in love with Kim, and I am, but looking back, I watched it for more than that! THANK YOU MS WILDE I LOVES YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
cool... off the "Running Scared" soundtrack (wish it had this version though!), usually they have the short song edits for videos but not this one!
There are a few video bars around, but will never compare to uncle Charlie's....it was the original.
Get rid of the guys and put Kim Wilde back in everywhere and you'd have one helluva video.
Her family are pop Royalty
it's the extended (12") version :) - the regular version isn't as long
such a cool video and song
Wow, what is going on Kim? This is deffinately wild!
One of my alltime favorite, but is this a censored Version ?
My Video runs 9:30 Minutes.. hmm strange
do ya do ya do ya do ya do ya do ya
Just think the women mtv vj's threatened to walk out over this video
Where did you get this information from?
Telegenics baby!
cool.
It's quite amusing to think that this video was deemed racy back in the day... long sleeves and all!
was def the man on man action it inferred....
The guys in this video are so hot. Especially the short spikey haired guy who is dancing when the video ends. Mmm. Kim is amazing though. This is one of her best songs.
WHO CARES IF THE " MEN ARE " GAY OR " STRAGH " AS LONG AS THEY ARE " HOT " !
it's a pity she grew old.. she was so fit back then !
Dude in the leather jacket reminds me of Michael Dudikoff
I have always and still do loves Kim Wilde. Snapshots it AWESOME! This was not one of my fav songs, but I loved the video. Now I know why. Because its a big ol gay fest!
That dress looks like it's right out of one of Robert Palmer's videos, ha! She's wearingenough pearl necklaces, what is that supposed to mean? ;-)
@puacino
Agree!!!!
I was 14 when this came out and it made me gay, lol. Ok, didn't make me gay but it sure pushed it a long. This video and the international male catalog.
Kim and madonna and bananarama all said they were better dancers, and kim felt more comfortable ;)
8 minutes?! [dies]

Yes gay heaven, she was flawless
My God- i remember those days..Mr Arckley and Adam Perry. The London west end night life of the late eighties..I wonder what these guys look like now, 20 years later..I know Thomas has blown up and living in LA as a bar tender..Looking back, they look so gay although Adam shagged thousands of birds and Thomas could tell you a thing or 2 about Simon Cowell's ex bird....

@AllTimeSteffy nope
wow 2006 was a really differnet time
tobiassssssssssss :it was 1986 ,not 2006 ;
If only 2006 had music this good...the 2000's wouldn't of been so shitty
Was it really banned from MTV? And that's what prevented this song from being a hit? Joking or what?... Even if the song has arrangements similar to G. Michael's '(I want your) Sex', I don't understand... Kim just shoots dead in this clip and song!!!
It wasn’t banned on MTV but the original video was edited to be played on MTV
Gay, bi, hetero sexual, who cares!!! It's just a great video and song!!!
this video was pretty racy for its time!
Gay or not..The hot thing is Kim.
Kim Wilde is/was gorgeous, but this song & video both are really boring! :(
