I had also made a similar map when i thought of the 17 th century and 18th century power struggles and if the marathas were able to resist british rule. I believe the federal states of maratha would be larger as their continous onslaught on bengal meant that bihar jharkhand would probably be independent states or part of maratha empire, also if marathas had won panipat, the nawab of oudh would probably become a vessel state and later absorbed into the federation, meaning that hindustan union could be part of the maratha federation. But it depends whether the marathas could have modernized their army and united their factions such as scindias, bhonsles and peshwas to be able to absorb its surrounding kingdoms and maintain influence in oudh and bihar. Later on in turn of 19th and 20th centuries revolutions like russian revolution could become widespread in maratha empire turning it into a federation or communist union of states. Now in the south their would be strong colonial influence in tamil nadu, kerela as french and british would occupy small portions and colonies in the south with power dynamic of mysore and nizam of hyderabad. The south could have been more fragmented with kingdom of travancore being a seperate nation, cochin and malabar coming under french influence and tamil nadu being governed by british and small pockets of french in pondicherry. I dont believe telugu people would be united same as in modern day india, the nizams regions of hyderabad would become a seperate nation and hindu majority of coastal andhra pradesh would become a seprate nation probably after civil wars or strife during the 20th century. Bengal would have high probability of being a colonial state of british given it had lost battle of plassey, most likely the surrounding areas of calcutta and sunderbans would be still ruled by british till the 1980s or 1990s like hong kong before joining united bengal, similarly ahom kingdoms and 6 sisters would succumb to bengal in the 20th century after bengal has modernized its military with help of british that would have militarized bengal to halt japanese invasion of ww2. Now in the north, Punjab would definitely emerged as an independent nation after sikh empire, but would be an unstable nation given the nation would have been muslim majority but power would be mostly held by influential sikhs, also being close to the soviet union and powerful federation of marathas, meant that it would be in a tight spot continuosly spending on defense. Finally I dont know whether rajputana would become a seperate nation it is plausible it could have joined marathas, but in 18th century their relationship with marathas had become strained due to increased chauth and taxes. If the marathas existed in harmony with rajputs and made changes in governance they could become united, but if the marathas would have imposed unfair tax practices with lack of unity among themselves, the rajputs could have revolted and during the communist or democratic revolution in maratha empire would have broken apart. Rest i feel is fine, this was my idea and analysis which i had done

I am from Punjab and a socialist Punjab is absolutely crazy. To say, Punjabi society has had some obsession with socialism in the real world too but still the leftist parties could never find support here. Love such a universe. Federal republic makes sense too. That is something the actual Emperors of Punjab might've ended up forming.

There wouldn't have been a Cooperative Republic of Bangladesh. More like the Bengal, unchecked by the British would fall to the westward expansion of the Konbaung Empire of Burma. Besides even if we assume Bengal wouldn't have been conquered by Burma, I don't think that the Bengali would have the stomach to fight the Burmese in the jungles and valleys of Assam. Also would the Marathas even allow the Bengali sultanate to become belligerent? I don't think so.
@@stormshadow5283 the backstory is different from what you are speculating. I will add it someday. The Burmese angle is interesting. Will look into the geopolitics of the time.
Bengal already defeated a Mughal army and then a number of Maratha armies. Although Bengal continued its cooperation with the Mughals, it also had a treaty with the Marthas. And for Burma, it may not have conquered Bengal because Bengalis fought a 40 year long war (1576-1612) against the Mughals during the time when Mughals were the strongest in South Asia and Burma was not that strong enough, given the nature of their tribal decentralised situation.

@@originalstories.pravyavnav Just Baroda and maybe one other princely state, that's it. Kathiyawad and Kutch even have family relationships with Rajasthan and Sindh. Kutch, Saurashtra and North Gujarat would either have been part of Rajasthan or would have been independent. If you are interested, just read about kings and kingdoms/princely states of Gujarat , you might not find major wars like Delhi, Rajasthan or Marathas, but it has a quite rich and interesting history of its own.
