You have nothing without gimbals, it’s all between the floor boards!
The trangia is my long held favourite. It’s a comprehensive package and inside the kettle you can put the burner, matches, t spoon, salt +pepper, t bags, sugar and cup a soups. With knife fork +spoon on top before the final cover (pot). But human nature tells us we must complicate our lives, but we always look back at our simple past with ever growing joy. Cheers!

Great video. Thank you. For anyone interested, CleanCook, a Scandinavian charity, now own the Origo tooling and are producing the stoves again under their name.

Are these available to purchase to the general public though? I can only see information and nowhere to purchase.

Short and sweet. Helpful. You can get a gas conversion kit from the Trangia which will make it heat faster.

What a great quote! … “Progress is man’s ability to complicate simplicity”. All too often true.

Says the guy with 5 different types of stove. None of them wood fueled.

Not sure I'd want a wood fueled stove on a small boat. :-/

I have one of the last Origo 1500s. Great stove! I would not go camp cruising without it! While I never timed how long it takes to boil water, good to see it does not take that much longer than the butane.

Love my Trangia. And Im awaiting delivery of my German made HPV Mambo - the replacement for the discontinued and sorely missed Maxie metho stove..:-) Another informative video Jo and Matt, thanks..

I have the one burner Mambo. I'm concerned there's the ability for fuel to slosh about. I'm going to go for the Origo copy with the glass fibre felt to stop fuel leaks.

I have a $30 clone gas burner for my Trangia which gives me the ability for a fast boil when needs must and a more reliable simmer. I still use meths for its peace and quiet, like the smell too! The Trangia is the best windproof stove in my experience.

I need/want a metho burner but can't find one with gimbals which I really need given the type of sailing I do ... very frustrating.
