I've had a similar mentality for the last 10 years or so. One day i got bored of video games and started working out, got outdoorsy (hunting, foraging, gardening, hiking, rock climbing, etc;) started learning how to spin and use a staff for fun (would just climb a tinier nearby mountain and practice once a week), archery, throwing knives. My goal has been to become a DnD monk without the whole monestary and years of isolation and silence.
Dude you look so serious and intimidating when using the weapon, but your voice is the friendliest imaginable, a great combo for any sort of instructor!
We need a fighting game where all the characters use obscure/unpopular weapons from martial arts history. Rope darts, meteor hammers, trident and net, etc...
I feel sorry for the sucker who'd be responsible for making the meteor hammer. Or they go full nuts and motion capture the meteor hammer somehow with something like a couple hundred sensors along the rope length.
Not gonna lie if someone spent much of their life honing the use of this as a weapon im sure they could be seriously lethal that second shot on the ice was scary ❤
there is a reason why historical weapons held by a rope were not popular, they're just not as good at transferring force, anyone with a big enough stick would be simply more effective in most scenarios
Genuinely insane how easily this thing can shatter a solid block of ice. I can't imagine the damage it could do if it hit someone. But this is cool as hell.
If i were to want to animate a character doing these moves i would watch this video. You’re good at explaining how things work and what you’re doing. Keep it up!
I'm glad you showed how to make a practice one because i counted at least 8 different points in this video where i would effortlessly cave in my own skul
i love this because this is the closest thing i have seen so far to some one doing like full spins and combo attacks in real life with a wooden staff. if you are careful its really fun to do in your back yard.
So, if I got the gist of it, you use the first few swings around the body to put the rope into position, and after that, you use the last few moves to actually store some momentum into the pendulum by shortening the length on the last few passes while the wraps are moving into position for the release and as you release it on the shortest arc, you aim and unfold the rope that easily uncoils from by merit of the previous preparation... I can see potential to make design moves that are faster and need less preparation.
work off your wrist to finger flick and snatch on repeat when so intentioned to continue at that range instead of seeking a grapple. You can get more than 1 flick per second of sufficient power. Rope darts are great and all, but pick > dart :P Leaving a long enough loop to let the pick straighten out lets you use it as a dart when you want, so its 2 in 1. If you like smashing ice, then you may like blowing through multiple layers of steel with a 15-20lb pick on a 15-20 ft rope.
How many outtakes happened after the fact you said “Rope Darts are just Spears that can’t get it up…”? 😂😂😂😂 cus you just said that with your full chest! 😂😂😂😂😂
I wish I could learn this but I don't have any legs/feet to do those cool tricks. But this was always my favorite offensive weapon. I remember seeing Jackie Chan improvise one in several of his movies and found it super fascinating.
I have no experience with this weapon or the names of the techniques, but I’m going off of 2 things here: 1) you start with the “dark dragon wrap” which is already a sick name for a technique 2) you wrap it around your lead elbow twice, same as when you do the overlord technique where it’s wrapped once around each elbow for 2 wraps total. So I’ll call it “reverse dragon overlord”. Overlord for the 2 elbow wraps, reverse because you wrapped it on the same elbow instead of different elbows and did the kick thing to reverse the rotation, and of course dragon for the dark dragon wrap at the start Reverse dragon overlord
How often/dangerous do the actual metal parts hit you? I feel like I would be constantly terrified if move wrong and accidentally cave in my skull because of it. 😭
If you're interested in trying it out/ practicing, he has a tutorial for making a soft practice one that's basically coffee beans in 2 socks. You'll still ring your bell if you mess up, but won't humpty dumpty your gray matter. Edit: I didn't realize because both just showed up in my scroll, but the practice one was released after this one. (Realized after I decided to check out the channel for more)
i was pondereing so much about its use in combat and the answer is stealth range knockout tool XD i mean you can spare cool flashy style into quick aand efficient one making this basicaly an extended club as you said
My dad and I were cutting some branches off the top of a 40ft tree with one of those saws on a stick once when I was a teenager. I was on my tiptoe on the top of a 12ft ladder with the pole fully extended just barely able to reach the branch we were aiming, not the safest setup in the world, when the blade got pinched and while trying to remove it, the extension came out of the pole and left the blade 10ft out of reach. We stood there for a second trying to figure out how to get it down when I ran to the garage, grabbed a rope and a crescent wrench, tied the rope theough the hole in the handle of the wrench, then used it as a rope dart to wrap around the branch with the saw blade stuck in it and pull it down close enough where we could retrieve it. I pulled off the throw in one shot and my dad just turned and looked at me like "WTF".
Would really love a longer tutorial series on the basics of meteor hammer
I need more meteor content in general , it's so rare I see people teachin our prop 😭
he's turning into Kai in kung fu panda
@@FreggFaeriethere it is, even the lames who do it cal it a prop not a weapon😂
“Somebody help me, my ball is stuck in the tree”
This hero arrives
with a sharp rope dart
You don't need your ball anyways once it's detached from your body.
*pops the ball*
@@DevilSpade isn't that unnecessarily cruel to the traumatised testicle amputee tho?
hah hah! I was the 999th like!
"Parry this you casual " would be one of your combat lines
Don't need to, I can just step into strike range finish the fight during the windup
Although I'm not a casual, so ig this doesn't apply to me
It's also good at close range but that's fair as that is a long wind up that you can't really just stop and switch until it's over @simsim4910
"To prove that I'm a video game character I'm-"
Yeah, I'm practicing with Staves rn, and this. Exactly This.
Do you know the youtuber called Fandabi Dozi?
@kenkubard Do now, thanks

Never thought I'd see a RUclipsr discussing their own frame data
Now I really want a fighting game character that uses a meteor hammer.
Dude you look so serious and intimidating when using the weapon, but your voice is the friendliest imaginable, a great combo for any sort of instructor!
There's something about his personality I don't like.
The way he says "I'm brainrot but interesting to watch" comes off odd
It's him! The man responsible for the shrinking ice caps in Greenland!
This is literally yo-yoing with your entire body 😭😭😭
How much freezer space do you have dedicated just to ice blocks?
Practical? kinda
Cool as shit? hell yeah
you must read this in the voice of the profile picture (engineer tf2's voice)
this is about as practical as a car without wheels
@@hazardeur fair, but it could still fuck someone up in the right situations (that's why I said "kinda" instead of saying its fully practical)
@@hazardeur practical doesn’t mean efficient, it just has to be useful, this is at least as practical as a car with ONE wheel
engineer gaming
You gotta go full Mythbusters and get a pig skull covered in gelatin and do this
We need a fighting game where all the characters use obscure/unpopular weapons from martial arts history. Rope darts, meteor hammers, trident and net, etc...
Itd be so sick for a video game. This guy could do all the motion capture
I feel sorry for the sucker who'd be responsible for making the meteor hammer. Or they go full nuts and motion capture the meteor hammer somehow with something like a couple hundred sensors along the rope length.
Castlevania
This is truly awesome to watch!!! Thank you for sharing this.
I REALLY like the slow motion play-by-play ty 😭
Not gonna lie if someone spent much of their life honing the use of this as a weapon im sure they could be seriously lethal that second shot on the ice was scary ❤

You'd be lucky if this worked on a paraplegic
You have no idea how much simply watching you move and you pausing is improving my anatomy drawing in motion ability
Word of the day: pirouette
I think your vídeos are soo cool , i think i will start training the meteor like you teached
This is how Scorpion should really fight in MK
When you would ever need a ninja rope idk, but the dedication is astonishing
Imagine getting into a streetfight, hearing "METEOR HAMMER!" and then being on the ground
"UUEUHEHEHUH! >:)"
I felt that
That over the shoulder one would really catch someone off guard, they'll be standing there thinking "aint no way thats gonn---- BAM"
This is super cool I'm glad the algorithm chose you to promote
dope bro, ive been spending 5 years blending karate and fencing into my boxing.
rufio's back and he knows kung fu
new favorite channel i used to love doing martial art but now i'm too sick lol
I don't know how I got here but I love it. this is very cool
Genuinely insane how easily this thing can shatter a solid block of ice. I can't imagine the damage it could do if it hit someone. But this is cool as hell.
this is actually really fun to watch crazy how complex this is
Realizing Mr. Bluesky was playing hit me like a piece of metal four times
If i were to want to animate a character doing these moves i would watch this video. You’re good at explaining how things work and what you’re doing. Keep it up!
lowkey my goat right here, made my feed turn away from skibidi toilet and turned it toward physical activity.
Using ice for a target is genius. Cleanup would just involve a mop
Absolutely amazing!
I cant even imagine how many times you half strangled yourself while learning to do this.
I'm glad you showed how to make a practice one because i counted at least 8 different points in this video where i would effortlessly cave in my own skul
I’m always a little nervous looking at this because I’m constantly thinking “oh god, what if they accidentally strangle themselves?”
Never knew what a Meteor Hammer is but now I want a dancer fighter that uses a Meteor Hammer in an action game
Oh look! Rufio left Neverland and grew up 😂
Ru-fi-o! Ru-fi-o!
i love this because this is the closest thing i have seen so far to some one doing like full spins and combo attacks in real life with a wooden staff. if you are careful its really fun to do in your back yard.
We can just call that move The Spidey Shuffle
hey be nice! haha
*scribbling notes furiously for my next dnd character
Im here for this content 🙏🙏🙏

Bro you need to put some of that on the internet.
That is really cool. Also confirms Scorpion's "Get Over Here" move CAN exist!
This actually looks so cool
If an enemy in soul’s games pull up like this, I’m quitting. Unpredictability is a soul’s player’s worst feat.
Agreed. I dont do ropedart, but I do balisong and poi which are other forms of flow art that can double as self defense.
In Wuxia novels, these moves would definitely get some sick ass name.
legit need this move set in a video game
The third throw is crazy is goes behind him and by his head…Training that sound painful lol
Scorpion been real quiet since this 👀
This shit makes me wish Scorpion used his Kunai for more than just the classic "GET OVER HERE"
OHHH SO THATS HOW YOU DO IT. Thanks!
GoGo Yubari been real quiet since this dropped.
Fighting, no. Martial, yeaaaa. Fun, 100%. Physically incredible, definitely.
Useful, kinda? Beautiful? Undeniably!!!! ❤
The yoyo tricks to long range melee weapons pipeline real.
i fucking love flow arts.
wow nice work!!!
“Twirl folding ice kick”
Bro Asia have crazy martial arts I don’t know how could someone invent this way of fighting with a rope and weight
How many outtakes happened after the fact you said “Rope Darts are just Spears that can’t get it up…”? 😂😂😂😂 cus you just said that with your full chest! 😂😂😂😂😂
I need to play a fighter with one of these in DnD
Whoa wtf is this how did I get here why is this awesome
these are some of my favourite looking near useless weapons
That must be hard to do indoors like that. 😮
Spinning back spear
Duuuuude thats sick as hell
That Combo name should be called "Ballerina's Kick"
The kicking snapshot
Now you just need a grappling hook and the ability to wield the fibers of reality, and you're an actual Destiny 2 character
That was sick 🕺

*other than scorpion
This looks amazing but I don't think I'll ever practice with one because I'll definitely knock myself out with it
this is sooo cool omggg
New warframe melee type just dropped
You know it’s fun about that that can be used in two different ways, to hit one individual person or crowd control
Bro's a soul calibur character lol
Jordanthestallion if he is a video game character
Wonder how many times he smacked himself in the head 😂
Where is my hamster with a leash for taking him on walks.
Trevor Belmont if the animators were given a bigger budget
real life Scorpion over here
I have neither the coordination nor the real want to be able to do this. That said, holy shit this is so cool!

This is the coolest shiz dude. But cant help but think of Indiana Jones.
So a meteor hammer is a frail but better?
