But it's like Beyonce and Cowboy Carter album, it's a great album. She completely changed the lyrics to Jolene though, why not just write NEW music for the NEW lyrics? Love the meaning of this song. Very social. Taking biblical themes and shining the spotlight on social issues.i take this song very personally. It cautions the 'high and mighty' in their 'high places' to not take themselves to seriously (pride goes before a fall) and it lifts up the lowly, humble, meek every man one the street.
+rowdymax1 Hmm. Too bad you know nothing of US history. The only thing our founding fathers hated worse than monarchy was corporations. The Boston Tea Party? Not so much a rebellion against England as it was a rebellion against a corporation--the East India Company. All the tea was theirs. "No taxation without representation?" it was about corporations having enough influence to have Parliament enact a law--the Tea tax--while the colonies had no vote at all. the "anti 1 percenters" were a lot more patriotic than I imagine you are. The US only granted 7 corporate charters in the first 15 years of our country. That's how much they were despised. Then came Manifest Destiny. and as for 'poopy pants?" You're right wing hero Ted Nugent wore the same pants for 30 days and then pooped in them so he could avoid the draft. And molested young girls. Sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think your stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

This song is really amazing and i really love the sound of the guitar because it sounds awesome, this is without a doubt one of the best songs from the 80's i've ever heard in my life. 🙂
I remember hearing this song probably 1984, at a friends house being played really loud......and I thought it sounded with such sentiment and mysterious feeling to it....that it just grabbed my soul at once.... The problem was, I didn't know who played it, and the only other time I heard it, was on a bus, and I could not hear the name of the band .... 39 Years later, I come to youtube and while I was playing "And we danced", a suggestion was there and not really looking I pressed the tumb, and went on to make my coffe.... As soon as I heard the Synth intro.....I froze....the song that I have looked for so long....and haunted me....was all of a sudden, there, being played loud again.... I tore... I have some memories with it, and I had no idea, The Hooters, the band that played one of my favorite songs....played this Beauty also.... Not fair....but I guess I have found it.
Same here. I had it on cassette ("what's that?") back in the day. Believe it or not, there is a main-stream grocery store in my town with THE best music you could imagine...Stones in the cat food aisle, Ramones in the frozen section...then this came on. I knew I liked it, but I couldn't place it...DOING! I got it. Good to hear it again. I never saw the vid until now...so well done. Take care, my friend.
Die hard metalhead here, I grew up with original metal, Blue Cheer, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest... This is one of those songs that blurred the genre lines... Good stuff!

High above the golden calf
Went to get the Ten Commandments
Yeah, he's just gonna break 'em in half!
All you zombies hide your faces,
All you people in the street,
All you sittin' in high places,
The pieces gonna fall on you
No one ever spoke to Noah,
They all laughed at him instead
Workin' on his ark,
Workin' all by himself
Only Noah saw it comin',
Forty days and forty nights,
Took his sons and daughters with him,
Yeah, they were the Israelites!
All you zombies hide your faces,
All you people in the street,
All you sittin' in high places,
The rain's gonna fall on you
Holy Father, what's the matter?
Where have all your children gone?
Sittin' in the dark,
Livin' all by themselves,
You don't have to hide anymore!
All you zombies show your faces,
All you people in the street,
All you sittin' in high places,
The pieces gonna fall on you!
All you zombies show your faces,

Going to their concert tonight! They are still going strong.
You can tell some great minds write music like this. Just brilliant.
One of the greatest guitar solos ever.
Nothing like this when it was released in 1985.... Sounds better than ever in 2022. Eric Bazliian was one of the coolest guitarists and songwriters of the 80s. So many people didn't realize they were the core of Cyndi Lauper's mega zillion selling first album.
Everytime I listen to this I realize some brilliant minds had to be behind the songwriting.
Oh, wow.... I didn't know that!
Just read the credits on the album. 😊
Plus Eric Bazilian is one of the most beautiful men I have ever seen.
Totally underrated band!
Nervous Night was an amazing release.
arguably,/ 80s choice bro
Underrated by whom? They were massively popular.
Best song of the Hooters
I'm 30 now... been playing it since i was a very young boy. Never understood it till recently. It has more meaning today than ever before.
This song could make a come back today!! My boyfriend played this one day for me back in 1994. It really is a masterpiece. Thank you!!
Orena Lyte😊😊😊
I heard it on my local radio station a few days ago and it gave me a big grin!
@Lord Farquaad: I'm the Gingerbread Man! God.
Just had it recommended to me by another RUclipsr's playlist of 80s tracks. I knew Satellite but this was one of three songs on the list I was unfamiliar with. Better late than never hearing it.

Very imporant message.Never loose your faith in Jesus.Lets go Hooters, and rock on in 2022
80's teenager here. Had completely forgotten this song till I heard it after 20 yrs.! Remembered it IMMEDIATELY! Perfect for where we are today. Darn i wish I would have been old enough to pay attention. It has been right in our faces for SO SO LONG!
Haven’t heard this in 37 years but it must of stuck because today I searched “they were the Israelites”, and I found it!
My favorite Old Testament inspired pop rock!
Still can't get enough of this group's music
The Hooters were my first concert! I saw them at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg VA. Loved their music, I am still dumbstruck at why they weren't more popular.
Still Rocking In 2021 Let's All Hope This Year Is Better!!
there will still be Covid believing zombies, but we’ll make the best of 2021
@Mathew Ross Hello Ross, greetings. Don’t get me wrong, I believe there are people “losing taste and small” and so forth.........people unfortunately losing lives to pulmonary issues etc.........but I theorize it’s from “A” “B” “C” and “D” (all of the above). An accumulative concoction of Monsanto’s GMOs, from the air we breathe, from electric ⚡️pollution affecting our cellular structure............and even malevolent man made diseases made in labs to fulfill the Luciferian agenda of the “Georgia guide stones”.............”bring the human population to 500,000,000”. Peace ✌️

Halloween 2024 and this is still a great song
Once in a while, somebody writes a real song.
Yes today some artists do it once in a while, in the 80's and the 90 the artists wrote real songs all the time in my opinion.
Once in a while - back then.
But it's like Beyonce and Cowboy Carter album, it's a great album. She completely changed the lyrics to Jolene though, why not just write NEW music for the NEW lyrics? But some other stuff on that album really is great. But the Jolene thing kind of knocked it down for me, smacks of big ego to do that to a classic song.
Whoever produced this recording knew what they were doing. They made a good song sound exceptional.
Rick Chertoff who also did "Girls just wanna have fun" and "Time After Time" by Cindy Lauper
He didn't hide the drums. Brought them right up front. Big bass and crash cymbal.
One of the greatest songs ever!
ja gleich nach Johnny B :)
Got ask to go to see TheHooters in 1985 in Springfield Il. They opened up for Loverboy. Listened to their music on radio, just didn't know what to expect. Got 11th row on the main floor and got to see two bands that sounded exactly like their albums. No added or left out words, beat count right on, no extra rifts just like it sounded on the radio. All I can say is we sang and we danced and we were loving every minute of it!
Being a big fan of the Seventies... my teenage years... I have only recently reappraised how good the music of my twenties were. The Hooters had everything...musically speaking. All you zombies is a great showcase for their combined talents.
Holy Moses met the Pharaoh
Yeah, he tried to set him straight
Looked him in the eye, let my people go
Holy Moses on a mountain
High above the golden calf
Went to get the Ten Commandments
Yeah, he's just gonna break them in half
All you zombies hide your faces
All you people in the street
All you sittin' in high places
The pieces gonna fall on you
No one ever spoke to Noah
They all laughed at him instead
Working on his ark, working all by himself
Only Noah saw it coming
Forty days and forty nights
Took his sons and daughters with him
Yeah, they were the Israelites
All you zombies hide your faces
All you people in the street
All you sittin' in high places
The rain's gonna fall on you
Holy Father, what's the matter
Where have all your children gone
Sitting in the dark, living all by themselves
You don't have to hide anymore
All you zombies show your faces
All you people in the street
All you sittin' in high places
The pieces gonna fall on you
All you zombies show your faces
All you people in the street
All you sittin' in high places
It's all gonna fall on you

I was 16yrs old cruising in the back of a mates 1967 ford falcon its 1983 this song comes on at full volume and takes me to another world what a ride
This song helps me out of a sad mood - with war raging, with so many young people dying senselessly. Thank you for this beautiful song!
Some songs are timeless this is one !💕
Indeed 👌🏼❤
One of the only song's that so proudly speaks of exodus and mentions the Father's Children on mainstean.
This song is timeless.
One of the greatest songs of the 80s.
2022 anyone guys? I love these guys Robby Hyman and Eric so underrated.
From Wikipedia - "Eric Bazilian told the Chicago Tribune in 1985 that he didn't know the meaning of the song despite having written it. "People ask us what it's about ... the weird thing is we didn't consciously put [the heavy stuff] there." Hyman later told Songfacts that the biblical images, including Moses and Noah, were not part of any agenda, though some radio stations refused to play it. "I love songs like that, you just listen and every time you hear it you kind of wonder what's going on."
yeah, it´s not truly religious. So I can still like it 🤣 because Im atheist.
+Triplet Tam Pretty darned good revisionist history, right there!
you're....not your. You need to be more careful if you're going to call someone stupid.
I wonder if Klaus S.( and the rest of the WEFcult) has ever listened to this??
“Good comment sir”. Well spoken.
Natch. This is way superior to the last 30 yrs of modern sludge music...
One of my alltime faves. Excellent musicians, all of them, as far as I can tell since I don't play any instrument.
And above all, two great singers. This is music with a capital M.
Eternal masterpiece is simply brilliant, and I'm certain that it resonates with millions of people who love God ❤️
Absolutely fantastic song. One of the greatest tunes ever.

Reviews From The North amazingly beautiful top 80's tune
What a song! We need music like this to come back...miss that...
It’s ok.
Especially by the Hooters. That was really the only song I really loved by them
Remember my ma cranking this back in the 80s when I was a jit....never forgot the best taste in music, and continued the saga long after my parents aged...if you weren't alive then, just imagine all these 80s and 90s songs when they were first on the radio, buying that album and playing it while sk**** dipping in a backwoods spring with your friends...best days ever!!
Walmart Radio brought me here. They are actually playing it right now as I type this. I am a 90s kid who grew up 80s music but I have never heard this one till recently. I love it
Increase your awareness. Read Heinlein.
Hard to believe this song is 42 years old. Brings me right back to Thurston Street. John Carol, Mark, Robyn, Mike Jim. Florida sunshine, no PCs or phones. Good times.
The best Hooters song.😉
My mom got me liking that lol.😉
Wicked Kink Yes we parents who were young in the 80's have great taste in music!

Really sorry for your loss 🙏🏽
I remember this guy's when they first debut with this breakout hit on a Philadelphia rock station back in the mid 1980s. Back then I was in the US Air Force stationed at Dover AFB.
Boy, those were some fun times. And now, I'm 56 years old. :-(
Time is moving too fast....
Wmmr still plays this song .
This song is really amazing and i really love the sound of the guitar because it sounds awesome, this is without a doubt one of the best songs from the 80's i've ever heard in my life. 🙂
Absolute Masterpiece! God bless y'all and stay safe everyone.
Found this little gem after not hearing it for many years, still a great song by today's standards, worth a listen.
@@judejames158 , Glad you found it, love hearing old tunes that you somehow forget, then all the memories come flooding back....best feeling ever!!
I agree and "500 Miles" is also good but the rest of Hooters songs are garbage.

I honestly just discovered this recently. I've always been a fan of lots of old music, but never heard of these guys before. I love this though! So underrated.
The Hooters were a Mid 80's band and they played many places including shopping malls and outdoor venues. In this video they are playing inside of the Baxter Water Plant on State Road. All those i wonder how the reverb was in that location?
Holy Moly. Heard this on the German radio and I'm Indian living in India. Can't stop listening.
