Really cool stuff! We bought and downloaded. Works great in the viewport as an individual material, but whenever plugging into a vray multiSubTex the real time in the viewport breaks. Is there a trick to get it working or does viewport real time just not work with vray multisubtex?
unfortunately, some render engines/software do not display osl image in viewport, the plane will only display dark material, but when rendering it works.
EDIT (to self): Sorry for the rant, it seems that one step that I should have clued in on was *both* having a material modifier on the stack applied to the selected object (local mat ID's, per face don't seem to cut the mustard), and the other.. UVW mapping (*facepalm*). For this, I found unchecking "Real World Map Size" and keeping it on "Plane" will scale the map properly. I noticed this when fiddling with the *.exr as a standard diffuse map, I got some hefty "moire" effects, because the 1K map doesn't scale nicely to imperial units. I'm sure there's a way to scale it to "real units", but I can't see it mattering since your windows will keep things framed properly. Thank you for this amazing alternative- I'm stoked to apply this to my workflow! :) *** Hello there, I too also purchased your demo scene and am only able to output black planes. I have tried the 1:1 aspect plane primitive (as per your scene), and have designed the shaders like such: EXR LOAD>OSL PARAMS>MULTI MAP>CORONA MAT. I start with one single file load node dedicated to *.exr loading which, through "File name out" I plug into the "File Name in" inputs for three (slightly) different OSL parameters which all, by ID link to my Corona Multi-Mat. I have configured the Corona Material to have no diffusion, the only source is Self-Illumination at 1.0 x multiply and a black diffuse box and still I have nothing.. I tried resetting my corona renderer back and forth from the ART renderer (which worked for your scene), but not mine.. Not too sure what I'm missing, but I'd appreciate any advice :)
@@corydaboss Hello, have you tried to follow all the steps like in this tutorial: ruclips.net/video/YoPZ9R7WxHc/видео.html There is no need to make file name anymore, the EXR files should be loaded from the OSL material now. Also, it might be just a simple relinking problem, need to make sure your EXR and OSL files are linked to your hard drive. And do you use 3ds max 2019 or higher?
@@corydaboss yes it was probably the uvw mapping issue, forgot to mention that as well. Usually, the demo scene has everything ready to work out of the box, just needs relinking. Glad it works now!
Amazing work! But can You help me? I want to test this material on the plane, which is extruded from spline. But it looks like plane with wrong mapping :( And uvwnap doesn't help
Hello, this might be the problem with XYZ Coordinates, best way is to made a plane in front view. When making plane from a spline the XYZ might be flipped. Try doing Xform reset, we will also try some things to see how to work with spline.
@@wParallax thank you for your answer. I tried xform, but unfortunately it didn't help. If I made plane from spline + outline - it works :) But plane had wrong rotation :) But if I used extrude it didn't work :(
@@artmaknev3738 Self-illum generates GI too, as far as I know. At least in Corona it's even advised in documents not to use self-illum on a regular CoronaMtl if there are no other strong light sources in scene, because it will generate a lot of noise.
Hello I believe this "The textures will need to be relinked "manually", because Asset Tracking doesn't understand linked material in OSL script" Could be linked using Project manager or similar relink tool.
The problem is that OSL script is making the EXR texture kind of invisible to asset tracking, so many relink tools don't see the textures either. Hopefully, there is some workaround to this little issue, but for now need to do it manually.
I hope you're incredibly successful! This is a phenomenal tool for artists. Thanx!
I know it's kinda randomly asking but do anybody know a good website to stream new tv shows online?
@Karter Morgan flixportal :P
@Edison Morgan Thanks, signed up and it seems like a nice service :D I appreciate it!!
@Karter Morgan no problem :D
Работает только на 3dsmax 2019 и выше? Или может работать и на более ранней версии?
Guys this is must for some game engine like UE or Unity ! I´ll try to test this demo in it.
in unity & UE already have it for the longest time... its all custom shaders
looks incredible! looking forward to try it out. Very very nice!
Мужики, ну вы вещи делаете!
amazing ill give it a try!
This is simply magic :) amazing... thanks
Is this only Corona/Vray or can it be done in Arnold as well?
It works with Arnold too
not working in corona 7 daily builds :(
this looks fantastic, having trouble grabbing the free demo scene though. Link just goes back to the 'free scene' page and then nowhere.
should work now
don't have the corona option in the shader section! file downloaded from your link , wht tho ?
Hello, the 3ds max file includes corona render file as well. But 3ds max must be at least 2019 version to support OSL.
this is nuts. so good.
Is there a way to use this with vray for rhino/sketchup? It would be great! Thank you!

for some reason I'm not getting it to work, I just render black any ideas?
Have you tried relinking both exr and osl shader from your local hdd? Also make sure windowAspect is at 1.

not sure, are you referring the error when rendering or downloading the file?

Hi, this issue is fixed now with the new osl update, just need to apply uvw box modifier to extruded spline :)
when I set up self-illumination my scene is closing
The setup in this video is old, try to follow the new tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/YoPZ9R7WxHc/видео.html

Another question. Can I apply it on a light material instead?
Hi Caue, light material produces GI and can slow down scene performance, it is usually better to use regular material with self-illumination.
@@artmaknev3738 I dont think so. If emit light is on It even work. And emit off dont generate GI I guess.

how do we create our own scenes?
You can open the EXR in photoshop and use it as a template to add your own 2D images of furniture and walls.

@@serch2k You must add .max file and then choose material. After that use relink tools for change default path that came with pack.
Can you share this file on free bro
Please, make one for Lumion
lumion doesn't have osl and exr support, but some people were succesful using box method with png maps.
