I’m at my parents visiting for Christmas, been taking pictures with my Rolleiflex TLR f 2.8, and a roll of expired Kodak 120 Verichrome from 1977 I only have around 25 rolls of expired film, just experimenting with this role to see if it can create anostalgic look Your RUclips videos are wonderful 🎥✨🙌🏼
The Kodak CPS is Ektacolor Print Film. ISO 100. It was the “consumer” grade color negative equivalent of Vericolor, which would have been Vericolor II during that era. It was used by professionals for weddings and portraits optimized for neutral skin tone, and white wedding dresses.
one thing I learned about expired film without the box is you can search the DX code and it might give you the approximate age of the film (atleast the years that version of the emulsion was made)
Just to let you know that you actually have four rolls of Rollei Retro 400 and two of Retro 100 at 3:04. Don't want you rating the film at the wrong speed and getting terrible results!
Hi graincheck. Last time (in comments) I wrote, I would love to hear your voice as "a meditation instruction (guidance)" And here we are now... You, gently talking about one of three main subjects in buddhism, annica (impermanence)... :) / Wish you Happy New Year
I used up all my films pre - year 2000, but I still got plenty of (mostly pro slide films), all fo them from early 2000's. However, all those films I bought myself, and all of them are FROZEN, meaning once I decide to use them, they are as good as new 😊 Films as those are the best, and everything else, well, I wouldn't call them trustworthy...
The Fuji NHGII 800 was a beautiful color negative film back in its day. It was popular in the late 90s. I believe it was replaced by Fuji NPZ in the early 2000s. Similar to S-800/Press 800.
I know I'm going to sound ignorant, but as someone who doesn't know much about film, why do you have film that has gone out of date? Or buy it if it was out of date before you were born?
I love this video - and you voice of course. I didn't know that there were so many different films in my past. I shot Kodachrome 64 or Fuji Velvia 50 only because of the saturated colors. Greetings from Northgermany, Thomas
great video about your expired film, i have a small collection of expired film the oldest is a roll of Kodak Verichrome Pan b&w in 127 format, exp.1981 , thinking of using it sometime in 2025 ?
Just saw your video on Freemont and thought I found a local photog buddy. Womp². In any case, I'm digging the content and learning a bit as well. Thank you. 😊 Oh, and Merry Christmas!
I've got three rolls of Fujifillm Pro 400H (120) that expired January 2010; two Ilford HP5+ (120), expired July 2011; 16 rolls of Kodak Portra 400VC (120), expired December 2010. I've also got some 35mm rolls with unknown expiration dates (though I think they all date back to the late 2000s or early 2010s): 3x Fuji Superia Xtra, 2x Kodak BW400CN, and one Kodak Max 400. Then quite a bit of expired instant film: partially used Spectra (exp. August 2008), Artistic Time Zero Fade to Black (exp. October 2009), Impossible Project PZ600 (B&W for Spectra; produced sometime in 2010), Fujifilm FP-100B (exp. April 2009), Polaroid 100 Chocolate (exp. October 2009), partially used 665 film (exp. November 2001), 125i (exp. January 2009), 100 Sepia (exp. October 2009), partially used 100 Blue (exp. April 2009), and a double pack of 669 (exp. March 2009). And there's an unfinished roll of something (can't remember what) in my Yashica A.
@@sumbohdee2luv i think that feedback is important for content creators. If i made videos, i would definitely want feedback like this to get an idea what people that regularly watch my videos think about something newish i‘m trying. I love her other videos but this one was unfortunately unwatchable for me.
You don’t have to comment, you have the option to just scroll to the next video. Her voice is calming and it’s how she likes to create. I doubt she will change her way of editing just because you don’t care for it, and you shouldn’t really expect anyone to. Before you say you didn’t say she should, evaluate why you felt the need to comment in the first place if it wasn’t in hopes she would read and respond then. Your comment was just unnecessary either way.
@DreamRoadRonny are you OK. Sounds like @mrkeith57 is looking forward to potential future videos where taylor goes out and shoot some of the expired film and shows the results. Do you need anything else explained for you.
So what does expire mean for film, will it not take photos anymore? It's chemicals sealed in airtight package. See this is why I need a woman, I'd either try and find out then just toss the rest in the garbage. All the memories and nostalgia washed away, like tears in the rain.
It's kinda like best before with food, assuming it is kept in the right storage conditions, which is in the fridge. The more expired it is, the less sensitive to light it is. Black and white film last much longer than colour and you can happily shoot it thirty years past its expiry, but you will need to 'pull' the film say from 400 down to 100. If you kept the film on a windowsill that gets a lot of light, it probably would not last till the expiry. But then, what are you doing leaving film in bright sunlight? These are rough guidelines, just like the ten year 'rule' (ten years past its expiry and you are meant to pull it one stop, twenty years, two stops, etc) as you will never know who it was stored if you bought if off eBay for example.
Everyone’s gunna be having expired film dreams after this..
Have a happy new year graincheck

I hate expired film.
Im feeling much better about the 1 roll of Kodak 400tx 35mm i just found last week in the back of my fridge that expired 11/22.😂
Loved this video! And the 35mm roll around the 10:30 mark looks exactly like my Lomo 800 roll.
Came here to say this too
one thing I learned about expired film without the box is you can search the DX code and it might give you the approximate age of the film (atleast the years that version of the emulsion was made)
You have good rolls of film. I'm using IFP4 black and white film and I'm from Asia
The unknown Kodak 120 VP at 7:26 is Kodak Verichrome Pan, I believe.
Yep! ISO 125. Very similar to Plus-X, only available in 120 in its waning production years.
I've been a loyal viewer from South Korea since the early day of your RUclips journey. Wishing you a Merry Christmas!
Cool video! I have Ektachtome X on 120 that expired in 1969. I bet that mystery 800 speed film is Lomo 800.
Just to let you know that you actually have four rolls of Rollei Retro 400 and two of Retro 100 at 3:04. Don't want you rating the film at the wrong speed and getting terrible results!
Expired film ASMR = EFASMR! Was very soothing to hear your voice and see the warm colors. Happy holidays!

I have a whole refrigerator full and you should put it in the fridge as well.
Expired Film ASMR !

Please let us see some heavy expired film in the wild ♡
What a trip down memory lane! Thanks for the video. 👏🏻

The nameless 800 film is Lomography.
This video feels like a cosy goststory...
😮😮😮

I love fujifilm so much! Not just for the images and I still enjoy the dials :) on the XT-30II miss that camera 😢
The mystery roll of 800 is the exact cartridge of Lomography 800 I have in the fridge, except it has the logo above the 800.
I love this video - and you voice of course.

Happy new year to you 😊
I shoot expired film most of the time and i would avoid 35mm. You can still get nice results with expired 120. Just overexpose a lot.
Expired film ASMR. Nice!
this made me sleepy

Elite Chrome is 1991-2012 era ... So at least 12 year expired.
This video could have been 3 minutes
They maybe stinky, but its way cooler than funpops.
Endless collection 😊
Great video, love the ASMR voice 👍🏽
Kodak is already expired as a company corporation nowdays, you better buy films from other companys more suitable in the futur

So what
I’m digging that Kodak bag!
Didnt know i we needed a video like this..Great video btw. Love to see all the films that arent made anymore..
not a fan of the ASMR‘ish voice.. I unterstand that some people like it, but it‘s way too much for me.. 😅
just because opinions are valid doesn’t mean everyone needs to hear yours
Uh oh, someone has intimacy issues 😂
Then don’t watch it loll

Thank you Taylor, enjoyed seeing the different expired films.
Is this really just a video of you showing expired film without shooting any? Ok…
OK? Looking forward to the ones you decide to load
You ok?

I put this on repeat and I’m away to KodakColor dreams before the repetition starts 😊
Two days after, not a single response, no like from the author. It's worrying. I hope you're doing well.
ФЁРСТ!😀

I have two things to say to you:
1. Marry Christmas
2. Will you mary me?
