But how to get the standard scores and calculate the strength and weaknesses using the mannual? It is really confusing, it will be extremely helpful if any video would be available on that.
Hi Kathleen, I'm confused about scoring the Vineland-3. How do I calculate the basal when I don't have 5 consecutive scores of 2? And how can I then calculate the ceiling when there's no basal? Please help! Thank you so much.
I'm afraid you need the manual or scoring software in order to calculate the percentiles. Check out www.pearsonclinical.com/psychology/products/100001622/vineland-adaptive-behavior-scales-third-edition--vineland-3.html
Thank you for this..so, if I use the parent/caregiver form or the teacher form ---the respondents will be answering the forms on their own, so i will have to teach them first how to do the basal scorong, right? Thank u
The Comprehensive Parent/Caregiver and Teacher forms have a basal and ceiling rule of 5, not 4. The ceiling rule is noted on page 3 of the rating form itself. The VABS3 manual also notes a basal/ceiling rule of 5 on page 42. However, the Comprehensive INTERVIEW form has a basal/ceiling rule of 4, as did the VABS2 (to the best of my recollection). That might be what you're thinking of.
Ah, you're asking about the second edition! This video is about the third edition. To the best of my recollection, the basal rule is 4 on the VABS2, so you would move ahead. However, I don't have a protocol or the manual in front of me to double-check that, so you'll want to seek verification elsewhere.
Thank you for explaining what to do with the 1st 5 of 0 or 1, (5) 2s, (5) 0s and what to do next!

For vabs edition 2 are the rules for scoring basal and ceiling same? except that there 4 consecutive stuff instead of 5?
Thank you for the video. Can you do a video on how to calculate the raw score and the calculation of est%? Thanks!

why are you saying 5 scores of 2 as basal/ceiling, when the test booklet specifies 4?

How do I calculate the estimated percentage?
You'll need to refer to the manual for scoring instructions. The purpose of this video was administration only.
any one can share in soft?
What if your 4 first scores are 2, do you we have to move ahead or backward in VABS 2?

Qué bueno sería escucharlo en castellano! Gracias igual
Is Vineland-3 Adaptive Behavior Scales test only for children? Can it be used for adults?
Pearson states that the VABS-3 Parent/Caregiver form is normed for ages 0-90, while the Teacher form is normed for ages 3-18..
Thanks a lot !!!
Thank You
