    Thanks for an easy to understand tutorial. I’ve also seen loopy flower ‘Loom Blooms’ with a button in the center. But for my current project, I really like the idea of making a center of contrasting yarn like yours much better. I plan to make a little flower to sew onto a brim of a funky, colorful loom-knitted hat I made. 😀

    Hi thank you for this video. Your loom must be a Boye brand. I use the Kniffty Knitter brand. It doesn't have the groove around the top part of each peg. And I like it better that way :) Can't wait to make Springtime flowers. Just bought lots of spring color yarns. Thanks again. Byeee

    Can you use the tails from the center part to attach the flower to a knitted baby hat or headband? I make them for my sister's work because she works with first time moms and every little bit helps but I saw this and thought that it might make them a little more festive for spring.

  • @SilentRunnerIAm
    @SilentRunnerIAm 10 лет назад

    It's called a knitting hook, and you place it in the grooves facing the pegs, not away from them, not on the back side of the pegs then rolling the hook toward the front and pulling the yarn up over the pegs sideways. You can damage the pegs doing that and ruin the yarn you are working with if you snag it and it tears the yarn. It was tight because 1. you were using the hook wrong, and two you were lifting three rows of yarn at once instead of lifting one row at a time.

      Yes, I own a flower loom, and have made several scarves on mine. I like it for scarves, actually, because its small size is easily portable, so I can work on a scarf on my lunch break then stuff it in my purse when I'm done. Don't expect a wide scarf, obviously, but I find that it makes an ideal width scarf.

      Tracy Do Great question! Some looms have the peg, some have a little slot that you can stick the yarn in, and some have nothing. In that case just hold it the best you can with your thumb in the area where the peg would be.
