100%. I do not know how anything printed in the past few years is going to be worth anything in the future. Be like all of the 1987 Topps I held from childhood thinking they were going to be worth big money. Still love the 87 Topps though.
I don't understand how a rookie QBs 1/1 sells for 200k, they've done nothing and chances are will be out of the league within 5 years. I think about this kid I watched buy 2 sam Howell NT RPAs for $1600 each, they might be worth $20 each now
Did you see our interview with Steve Charendoff of Rittenhouse? The way they do things is the right way and he makes sure they are putting out great products. I don't know if they have the ability to scale or the desire to do so, but at the very least it would be smart for a company like Topps or Panini to look at how Rittenhouse has done things and try to copy what they do.
Agreed, and yes of course I watched that interview! :) Was awesome, I'm going to reach out to you more specifically on this, would like to contact Steve as well for my new 'Inside the Mind of....' series
@@TheSportsCardDad He's so knowledgeable about the hobby. I would love to have him back again this year just to talk about his time with Fleer/Skybox in the 90's!
In 1975, a pack of cards was like, 15 cents or maybe 25 cents which is equivalent to maybe, a $1 in 2025. The reason why vintage cards can have value, is because they were not made to be so. Topps/Fanatics has created so many artificially manufactured ''1/1''s.'' The Caitlin Clark card which you said sold for, over $200, 000 dollars. So there's people out there who have money that will buy it. My concern, however would be the gambling culture, that has quite frankly been in the hobby for years. To me, it's basically the junk wax era. On steroids. Hope you have a great new years!
I think now that TKO has control of PBR there will be an increase in rodeo / bull riding popularity due to the production value about to be introduced to the sport. This will spillover to an expansion in the trading card market.
I'm looking forward to WNBA Prizm as a collector. My concern is that last year I got a hobby box for $85 and this year I expect one to cost at least $500, maybe closer to $1,000. Maybe I'll just buy the Sky in a PYT break...
I don’t like the designs and concepts topps has used for basketball so far. It all feels very outdated and ugly. I’m gonna miss Panini tbh. Things like Flawless, National Treasures (not the past few years where none of the jerseys are game worn, talking before that) are classic sets and sorely missed. Classic inserts like Downtown, Kabooms, all the different parallels in prizm, contenders and contenders optic…man, end of an era 😔 If it’s not licensed then I ain’t buying there stuff.
I’m a big fan of nonsports/movie cards. I think there’s a lot of fun to be had in the hobby there if people begin to take interest. But I’m also someone who happily bought a graded Last Action Hero card last night so maybe I’m just the weird one 🤷♂️😂🙌🏻

Welcome to 2025, and another year of playing your videos at 1.25X, thus making the theme song more of a banger than you might realise 😂
lol 😆
Once people realize we are in a junk wax slab, auto and insert era , ultra modern has to come crashing down

I think a lot of people do but we still just enjoy it. Like we did in the 90’s.

how much does a container house cost where you are [walkin walkout]? easy to get local council approvals ? can understand if you don't want to divulge

Better advice, just buy the Fever……
