Thank you. I'm always looking for tips on improving sound. Something that helped me: I was not filling up on each breath as much as I could. I was watching a master class by Chuck Daellenbach and he said to first take a deep breath through your nose and feel where all the air is going. Then when you breathe in through the mouth for exercises and playing, focus on getting that same feeling of where the air is going. I always start just taking deep breathes through my nose to "get the sensation" and translate it to my mouth before picking up the tuba. When I find myself not taking full breathes, I put the tuba down and repeat before picking it back up and continuing.

Happy Birthday is great. Danny Boy, America the Beautiful and America are my favorites to do.

Just came across this, wanted to say great video and very interactive, definitely showing this to younger tuba players in the future!

Might be able to move your first valve slide and push it in to raise the pitch while you are playing.
Or try it 3rd valve but it’ll probably make it even flatter

@@josephritchiemusic I discovered that and it did make it more flat
