Toy Story 3 was released when it did so that people who grew up with the original were at the same time going into to college and thus mirrored Andy going to college. I remember about to go into college and seeing this movie and feeling like letting Woody go spoke to me, a transition of sort. It felt like I was always saying goodbye to woody, saying goodbye to my childhood and moving on
THIS. This is something that sometimes gets forgotten with reactors that do them in order in the span of just weeks. Growing up with the originals and then having this one come out 11 years after TS2, not only improving animation quality and whatnot, but making most of us that grew like Andy, feel like him once again by the time most had moved past playing with toys (let alone at a time in 2010 when most kids were starting to ask for like iPads and smartphones instead of toys) made it all the more hard hitting.

I was 15 when my family and I saw this film. I literally grew up with Pixar and Toy Story. I was born in 1995, the same year that the first Toy Story film premiered. I also grew up in a Spanish speaking household. So I would watch my movies in Spanish as well. The Latin Spanish dubs are iconic in their own right, and that applies to almost every Pixar film made so far. With that said, Pixar will always have a near and dear place in my heart. They defined a greatness in my childhood, and now we can pass these stories on to future generations… al infinito y más alla! On another note, this moment is dedicated to Ned Beatty - the voice of Lotso. July 6, 1937 to June 13, 2021. And Estelle Harris - the voice of Mrs. Potato Head. April 22nd, 1928 to April 2nd, 2022.

This movie hit a lot of people who grew up watching the 1st and 2nd movie. Just like Andy more than ten years has passed by and all the little audiences have grown up with Andy. It is an awesome movie to learn how to let go and move on to better things.
I was in my 20s when I first saw this in theaters and i was bawling in the incinerator scene and when Andy was parting ways with his toys. Like how can you not cry?
I remember watching this in theaters. Everyone actually was worried they were all gonna die in the incinerator. Like the entire Theater you could feel the tension and some people were looking at each other like "IS THIS FOR REAL?". Then the sighs of relief and cheers when they escaped.
5:40 after watching a documentary about barbie doll values that girl 10+ years later gonna go "wtf did i give her away?!?!" you be surprised even a used out of the box barbie doll still got lots of value depending on how many of that specific model they sold and what accessories they come with. due to for barbie dresses they do get known fashion designers to help recreate the dresses in that size.
Why does this movie make me cry no matter what?? Even just watching it on here. Still remember my mom walking into the room the first time I watched it, I was at the part where they held hands bawling my eyes out and her looking at me like I was nuts. My Facebook memories for today from 10 years ago was me watching this with my nephew for the first time. So glad y'all have been watching these movies. They are must sees.
This movie means so much to me, i didn't see it when i was going to college like a lot of people who are attached to it did, but toy story is my childhood franchise, and to have this end such a beautiful trilogy with a masterpiece of a movie is amazing Yes i know there's a toy story 4 lol, it's got some great moments, but i dont include it when i talk about how great this franchise is
We never truly realize when the last 'playtime' we have with our toys is, it just kind of ends one day and you move on. For Andy to get that send off and one final playtime with the gang, it just felt so touching to see happen with movies I grew up with like so many others. Will never fail to make me teary-eyed! Also, I'll never forget an old RUclips video of someone pulling a prank on their family members by cutting the movie up to actually end with them all holding hands and descending into the incinerator, with credits and nothing after. Was hilarious to watch everyone completely shocked and upset as to how they believe it ended.
The incinerator scene broke everyone in the theater when I went to see this. Like it just went so dark unexpectedly. And because it was in 3D, the moment Buzz extended his hand it was almost like he was reaching out to us as well, asking us to join. And then the little green men came and saved the day and we all sighed with relief and cheered.
it's a weird trend that nobody in the toy group ever believes in Woody, I guess when they thought Woody pushed Buzz out of the window was the reason they will never trust his word ever. Lotso has to be one of the most evil villains in PIxar, even after they saved his life he still wanted them to die and I like the small detail when Lotso was making his rant on that every toy is meant to be thrown away his workers all looked at each other probably thinking "we were working with this guy? I didn't know we were all expendable to him" it's a great detail that even in the credits you see all of them help out Ken it really shows how Lotso was truly the evil one as the best way to describe him by Ken "he made us into a pyramid and he put himself on top!"
This is my all time favorite Toy Story movie! The story, the characters, and the tone were all excellent, in my opinion! Plus, Andy growing up and leaving for college was so special to me because when this movie came out I too was also leaving for college. I'm so glad y'all are continuing this Pixar Reactions!
Same for me this movie was terrific. The humor, drama, and feels were all there. This came out summer of my senior year and I was going to college in a month. This movie is very special to me along with TS1.
I had a lot of toys when I was a boy and I really love them. I totally understand why Woody is so special to Andy. When you play toys, just like playing role-playing. You always have a toy that represent you. At first, you come up a story. Then your toys just like a bunch of actors to play the story. And your favorite toy and you are the leading role of this story. Your favorite toy goes on adventures instead of you and fight instead of you. You ARE your favorite toy and another toys just like your friends or enemies. Andy is lucky. I didn't even get a chance to say bye to my toys, mother just threw them and didn't even ask me before it. The ending scene always make me cry. Maybe I'm just so jealous because of his luck.
This was a trainwreck for us 90s kids. We grew up on this movie and by the time it came out I just graduated High School. This was the perfect finale for me.
i didn't get to see this movie in theaters but i literally grew up with these movies so i felt like Andy through the trilogy. I Finally got to watch it on a plane ride with my whole family (destination wedding)... i had NO IDEA what this movie was going to be like and fighting the whole ending to not bawl my eyes out on a plane. When Andy goes through each of the toys at the end it was just tears in my eyes the whole time unable to see the screen... When it was over i was like i wonder if anyone else on the plane is watching, i move my headphones and just hear the entire plane sniffling and crying. I agree with Jen as my favorite of the 3 and agree 10 out of 10 for me too!
This was such an emotional experience watching this movie for the first time. Like many others, I was a kid when I saw the first two Toy Story movies and was 22 when I saw this one. I felt like I grew up alongside Andy & knowing it's the same actor from the original movies made it hit all the more. Thankfully I watched it with big 3D glasses that hid my tears.
Buzz and Jessie romance chemistry started off near the end of Toy Story 2. Funny humor: End Credit/ Bloopers (the one with Buzz's wing was written by Woody as "This space"[left side] and "for rent" [right side]).
Something I like about Lotso's backstory is how similar it is to Woody's role in the first film, both being the favourite toys of their respective owners and experiencing a moment of being "replaced". In that regard, he's basically what Woody might have become if he didn't befriend Buzz and undergo all the character development he had in the first two films. He's a great villain in that regard, probably second only to Syndrome in the rankings of "greatest Pixar villain".
This one will always be my favorite Toy Story movie, and probably my favorite Pixar movie. It's just so relatable and as an adult, it makes you want to be a kid again. Definitely much better times back then. That ending though. Whew, it always tugs at my heart.
I definitely remember seeing this in theaters as a kid probably 10-11 and crying at the end of the movie because you grew such an attachment to them especially when you’re young
When I moved I remember all the toys I gave away but one of the few things I kept was a randomly builty Lego spaceship I made that I still keep to this day. I'm impressed how I never took it apart and put it in the Lego box but I'm glad I still have it to this day
“My Neighbor Totoro” is part of the Studio Ghibli essentials. Personal favorites include “Princess Mononoke”, “Nausica”, and “Spirited Away”. I’m sure you’d love them too!
As Holden said there are the kids that grew up with the first two and then there was the generation that had Toy Story 3. I loved the first two but this is the first I saw in theaters and I was at an age where I was starting to leave my childhood behind. Graduation was getting closer and as time went on, this movie changed. When I graduated the movie was a goodbye to my childhood. I watch it today after moving away from home and it’s a goodbye to family. If I have kids who grow up I’ll then see this movie through Woody’s eyes saying goodbye to your kid to go off and do great things. It’s a movie that truly grows with you and works for any age. Not only is it my favorite Toy Story film it’s one of the most influential films I’ve seen!
I'm with Jen. Toy Story was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and Toy Story 3 topped it. Getting ready to leave for college right as this movie was released made it hit even more.
OMG Jen trying to be body positive for your dogs and say they are not fat they are thick is hilarious. I'm glad Holden listened when the vet said something. XD
This is not only the best Toy Story movie, but it's one of the best animated movies of all time. It's very close to being a perfect movie. It looks stunning, the performances are fantastic, the writing is emotional and beautiful and it does an incredible job of not only finishing Andy's story, but setting up a great place to move on with the characters we love and those great new additions.
Awesome Video!!! I LOVE THIS MOVIE SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! It makes Me cry every time Lotso is such a Great Villain He's probably The Most Evil and Diabolical Pixar Villain ever. The Scene in The Incinerator always gives Me Goosebumps it's crazy that people thought The Toys might actually die but that just shows you how Bold Pixar is. And The Scene at The End where Andy gives all of His Toys even Woody to Bonnie and They get to Play Together One Last Time always makes Me Cry. This Movie was The Perfect Conclusion to a Perfect Trilogy and not just One of My Favorite Pixar Movies, But One Of My Favorite Films Of All Time!!!
Andy passing the toys on to the girl made me cry when I saw the film myself, and again just from seeing the bits in this video. I'm 22, watched TS1+2 a lot as a child. I had a Buzz and my brother had a Woody. I had a huge toy story blanket on my bed growing up. The ending of 3 just breaks my every time.
I never noticed the Baby on the Swing scene with them hiding in the sandbox is an homage to The Fellowship of the Ring when the Hobbits first hid from the Nazgul.
Toy Story 2 came out in 1999, the same year I was born. I loved Toy Story as a child. But my mom was bawling her eyes out in the theaters because she watched the Toy Story trilogy as she was growing up, from high school on. This was her last movie before she passed away in 2011.
Back when this movie started getting tormented, someone made a cute down version where the credits begin where they were holding hands at the incinerator and put it on torrent sites disguised as a normal toy story 3 file. Somewhere, there exists at least one person who experienced this movie for the first time, thinking they all died
When I saw this in theaters, when we reached the fire moment, the whole audience was tearing up and you could hear the sniffles throughout the crowd. Then, right as the whole audience was about to reach the peak of sadness, the woman sitting next to us suddenly burst out in a loud cry saying, "I don't know why I care SO much!". At that point, the entire audience was cracking up! LOL. One of my all time favorite moments at a theater. LOL
Like Holden, _Toy Story_ and _Toy Story 2_ were integral pieces of my childhood. When _Toy Story 3_ released, I was approaching my teens. My mother took me to watch it knowing how much the original movies meant to me. It didn't feel like another movie to me, it felt like catching up with old friends. Pixar was on a roll in those years. 2007 saw _Ratatouille,_ 2008 saw _WALL•E,_ 2009 saw _Up._ 2010 saw the return of not only _Toy Story,_ but the return of my earliest childhood memories. It was a gift. I may have the more personal attachment to 1 and 2, but 3 gave me a precious reminder. No matter how much time passes, or what change will come, you will still have a friend in me. These movies are precious to me, as they saw me through the important, formative years of my life. They will continue to do so... _To Infinity, and Beyond!_
“i hope you werent too attached to em” is the funniest part of this video 🤣🤣🤣 .. but yea this one was great.. my 2nd favorite after the 1st but the best ending of them all..
Did you know...that Andy was voiced by the same actor for all of the Toy Story movies? John Morris did the first one when he was 11 and by the time we get to Toy Story 3, he was 26. Great loyalty by the producers to keep the same person behind Andy's persona. It made me appreciate this movie even more.
Love this film. One of my All-time favorite animated films. Best TS entry to me. The "So Long Partner" is up there with the Furious 7's Paul Walker sendoff ending.
12:00 the main difference between Bonnie's play-style and Andy's play-style is that Andy is the omniscient narrator in his games and Bonnie is a character in her games with her toys, and I love it!
*wipes away tears* Anyway, did you know the actor who plays Lotso was Otis in the first two original Superman movies? Ned Beatty passed away just 2 years ago.
I watch this film every Christmas Day - which was the first day I saw it - and it never fails to physically hurt me. As someone who grew up OBSESSED with the first two, this one is still my favourite.
Man I remember seeing this in the theater. Grew up watching the Toy Story movies and I’d started college the year this came out so I really felt like I had grown up alongside Andy. This movie was such an emotional ride for me and honestly it was a perfect ending to the franchise had they left it alone after this. Not to say Toy Story 4 isn’t good cause it is, just felt unnecessary. I always go back and forth between this one and the first movie as being my favorite of the Toy Story franchise and both hold a place in my pantheon of greatest movies for a variety of reasons. The first film was the first movie I saw in a theater and it holds a special place while this one brought me back to my childhood as a young adult. I miss this kind of Pixar.
27:51 This is probably my favorite scene of all the Toy Story movies! Andy being voiced by the same person as in the first two made it al the better! This scene is literally the perfect way to end the Toy Story trilogy.
The ending of this movie always brings me to tears, no matter how many times I see it. I remember when I was a kid after seeing the first movie I'd hide my plastic soldiers in the Christmas tree. Looking back on when I graduated High School getting rid of all of my toys, yeah this one comes close to my favorite of the Toy Story movies
Agreed this was a perfect ending, in fact it was suppose to be the last film, but ya know Disney saw those dollar signs and there was no stopping them.
"I hope you aren't too attached to them" xD I remember the first thing I did after this movie came out was to check out Lotso at a disney store to see if they really smell like strawberries
I remember there's a video out there of someone editting the movie to "end" with a fade to black as they enter the furnace, then playing the "you've got a friend in me" then showing it to their family or whoever who had never seen it. It's pretty hilarious.
Theres actually an interesting moment in Toy Story 3, when barbie is ripping kens clothes, that can be misheard. He actually says "oh, Barbie!" but if you arent paying full attention sometimes you'll hear "F***, Barbie!" Its bizzarre. I didnt believe it until i heard it myself.
I was in the third grade when the first movie came out. By the time this one was released, I was a grown adult and I was SOBBING at the end of this movie, in theaters in front of tons of people LOL
As much as the first 2 hold a place in my heart, this is the best of the Toy Story movies and was a perfect ending. They would have done well to leave it there with that final "So long, Partner." I'm not crying! You're crying!
I still remember that video online where the guy edits the movie to end at the trash holding hands and made his family watch it thinking they all died lol
Toy story was a crazy emotional franchise for some of us who happen to fit perfectly on this time line for 1-3. It was around time some of us were going to college and growing up to be adults leaving childhood, homes and parents behind. Saying goodbye knowing its never going to be same, was done so perfectly capturing our feelings in this movie. This maybe goodbye but its not the end.
Keeping in line with the Star Wars references in Toy Story, the scene where Big Baby throws Lotso in the trash is a reference to when Darth Vader throws The Emperor down the reactor
Toy Story 2 and 3 are my personal favourites from this film series! I remember seeing the 3rd one at the cinema! I also saw the 4th one at the cinema and haven't watched it since...
There was prank played by a kid to his mom where he cut the movie to end just before the claw saved them and passed it off as the ending of the movie 😂😂😂.
When barbie rips up the clothes and Ken goes "oh barbie! Those were vintage" watch it back thinking "oh f**k" instead and it 100% sounds like that's what he says 😂 😂
Andy's "one last" time playtime was so heart breaking. The decision to focus only on toys was so powerful.
The weakest one of the franchise my ass
yeah it was a real tear jerker

No

you be surprised even a used out of the box barbie doll still got lots of value depending on how many of that specific model they sold and what accessories they come with. due to for barbie dresses they do get known fashion designers to help recreate the dresses in that size.
This movie means so much to me, i didn't see it when i was going to college like a lot of people who are attached to it did, but toy story is my childhood franchise, and to have this end such a beautiful trilogy with a masterpiece of a movie is amazing
Yes i know there's a toy story 4 lol, it's got some great moments, but i dont include it when i talk about how great this franchise is
We never truly realize when the last 'playtime' we have with our toys is, it just kind of ends one day and you move on.
No just potato head always criticizes woody
This is my all time favorite Toy Story movie! The story, the characters, and the tone were all excellent, in my opinion! Plus, Andy growing up and leaving for college was so special to me because when this movie came out I too was also leaving for college. I'm so glad y'all are continuing this Pixar Reactions!
Same for me this movie was terrific. The humor, drama, and feels were all there. This came out summer of my senior year and I was going to college in a month. This movie is very special to me along with TS1.
@@olli-lfe Totally agree. 😁
“I hope you weren’t too attached to them” lmao then Boston’s side eye 😂😂😂😂
I love the Toy Story series! The third is a great ending, while the fourth is more an epilogue. Can’t wait for the fourth movie reaction!
Ned Beatty (Lotso) also played the Mayor in "Rango" 😁 Didn't realize it until watching this video. Lot of great voices in "Rango"🦎🦎🦎🦎
No movie makes me cry more than this movie. 10/10 masterpiece in my book
I'm impressed how I never took it apart and put it in the Lego box but I'm glad I still have it to this day
I really wish Holden pulled the “alternative ending” prank with this one 😂 It wouldn’t have worked anyway since there’s Toy Story 4, but still
Just as long as it isn't as disturbing as the "alternate ending" creepypasta that still haunts me to this day, I'm game.
The garbage guy is actually Sid from Toy Story 1. You can see his skull shirt is the same and he's jamming to metal music.
“My Neighbor Totoro” is part of the Studio Ghibli essentials. Personal favorites include “Princess Mononoke”, “Nausica”, and “Spirited Away”. I’m sure you’d love them too!
12:09 That is Timothy Dalton who played James Bond in the 80s and also Rassilon on Doctor Who.
Not only is it my favorite Toy Story film it’s one of the most influential films I’ve seen!
nahhh this movie had me tearing up in my twenties. that close call at the ending was too much for my heart.
I cry my heart out at the end of this movie every time. This came out when I was off to college as well. Just , damn…hits me right in the feels.
Fun Fact: Him Varney (voice of Slinky Dog):passed away in 2000. So Blake Clarke took over as voice actor
Sorry for your loss. How did she pass away… if you don’t mind me asking
THE BEST PART - WHEN ANDY LEAVES TO COLLEGE & LEAVES THE TOYS. IM LEHIT GOING NEXT YEAR TO COLLEGE 😭😭
*wipes away tears*
Anyway, did you know the actor who plays Lotso was Otis in the first two original Superman movies? Ned Beatty passed away just 2 years ago.
8:06 Jen’s reaction (her sparkled eyes) 🫰🫶
One of my favorite facts was that this movie is one of the only three animated films nominated for best picture at the Oscar’s.
Still remember being in theaters hearing the whole room crying not knowing a 4 was coming out thinking they were going to end right then in the fire
The talking phone talking about the surveillance monkey gave me BioShock vibes lol 😅
27:51 This is probably my favorite scene of all the Toy Story movies! Andy being voiced by the same person as in the first two made it al the better! This scene is literally the perfect way to end the Toy Story trilogy.
Holden: "probably the most emotional"
Me: sobbing
The ending of this movie always brings me to tears, no matter how many times I see it. I remember when I was a kid after seeing the first movie I'd hide my plastic soldiers in the Christmas tree. Looking back on when I graduated High School getting rid of all of my toys, yeah this one comes close to my favorite of the Toy Story movies
Buzz and Jessie started in TS2.
At the end, when he sees her going to the door, his wings suddenly *ahem* extends...
There’s a version I saw somebody showed their mom where just as they got to the furnace it went black and rolled credits. 😂
This was the perfect ending. I don’t think they should have made a 4th. Emotional, but so good!
Agreed this was a perfect ending, in fact it was suppose to be the last film, but ya know Disney saw those dollar signs and there was no stopping them.
@@olli-lfeand now there's a 5th incoming
@@olli-lfe now there's going to be a 5th one
Apparently there is a 5th one coming
There is no “worst” Toy Story, they’re all masterful. My favorite happens to be 4, bc I saw it with my son & he loved it.
When this came out, I remember Kevin Smith talking about it on a podcast and referred to it as Schindler's Toybox.
They would have done well to leave it there with that final "So long, Partner."
I'm not crying! You're crying!
I still remember that video online where the guy edits the movie to end at the trash holding hands and made his family watch it thinking they all died lol
The security monkey scared the living sh*t out of me when I was a kid
Toy story was a crazy emotional franchise for some of us who happen to fit perfectly on this time line for 1-3. It was around time some of us were going to college and growing up to be adults leaving childhood, homes and parents behind. Saying goodbye knowing its never going to be same, was done so perfectly capturing our feelings in this movie. This maybe goodbye but its not the end.
Keeping in line with the Star Wars references in Toy Story, the scene where Big Baby throws Lotso in the trash is a reference to when Darth Vader throws The Emperor down the reactor
I remember when this movie came out, it suprassed all expectations and adults were bawling their eyes out in the theaters.
18:58- JUMPSCARE: (MONKEY SCREECHES)
WOODY- AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!
LMAO😅😅😅😅
21:20 - That doll baby reminds me of the large doll in the red light, green light game in the TV show, Squid Game.
25:32 - Holden, you're so mean! 😂
Toy Story 2 and 3 are my personal favourites from this film series! I remember seeing the 3rd one at the cinema! I also saw the 4th one at the cinema and haven't watched it since...
6:56 Actually, it's confirmed that that is Sid!
3:42 Damn the T-Rex sound is so on point, I'd think they borrowed it from a film that came out in 1993 🤭😌
