I think this would have made a great anime of 30 or so episodes if they just did it. I'm seeing more Salamander elements than Gradius, but then again they're pretty much the same game. Salamander's supposed to have been a spinoff. This was very cool.

It's a three episode OVA. Episode 1 is salamander. Episode 2 is gradius. Episode 3 is gradius 2. The first episode takes place after the second.
