- A deadly three-vehicle crash on State Route 76 killed four individuals Friday night, prompting the closure of the highway in North County, Cal Fire officials said.
Stupidity is the number one cause of these incidents.

Yes and careless disregard for safety. The I want to get there faster mentality. Add a mixture of drugs and alcohol and thats a deadly combination. Sadly innocent people are dragged to their deaths sometimes.
76 is crazy. People coming home from Pechanga/Pala casinos. Very open highway where people ignore the speed limits.

The driver who caused the crash was going eastbound towards the casinos
So that is the road that goes up into the mountains toward Pala, Pauma, Harrah's and Valley View. I thought so. Bad road.

His tone was gentle and concerning, as those who knew the deceased would likely be watching it. No one wants to report things like this, it's sad and tragic.
I remember in 2013 when I lived on a state route where it merges to 1 lane from 2.. I woke up to what was like an explosion.. and a semi crushed a passenger car.. a young woman was inside that car who accidentally went left of center (head on collision) She died instantly. I ran outside and thankfully others were already there (it was an eerie quiet calm) and as I approached, someone said you don't want to go over there, help is already on the way.
Later on, I remember seeing a young woman there at the crash site a week or so later where there was a small memorial on the telephone pole.. (it was her sister) I stopped my car and went out and told her I was sorry for her loss, gave her a hug and kind of wept with her and said there was nothing I could do as the crash woke me up.. I felt the least I could do was empathize with her and let her know I cared.
I think this reporter is doing the same thing.. he is trying to empathize and show concern and respect while reporting the story.
Even the first responders litter the roads 🙄

The person that caused the accident was driving eastbound. They were not coming from the casinos.

California casinos don't comp alcohol. Too greedy. Nevada is different.
It was 4 lanes where it happened, also he was going east towards the casinos a nd Indian casinos do not "comp" drinks.
Tow company contracts with law enforcement agencies always require the clean up of crash scenes. This Tow company should be notified. Fail to clean up, fail to re new contact.

76 is one of those roads where you have to be on your toes all the time. 2 lane curvy road late at night, bad things can happen.
I get tired of emergency and clean up crews always leaving trash and wreck debris behind, thats considered littering in my eyes
Legally and by contract the tow company is supposed to remove ALL debris I know that is fact because my brother did this for a living so does my neighbor it's not only littering but some items pose a hazard I myself last year had to help a tow driver clean up next day after a accident he left so much crap behind people complained they almost got fired and lost the contract which is a very lucrative and coveted contract to land and not easily obtained.
