    The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade account for 50% of all large SUV sales in the US. GM makes 340,000 of them every year and exports about 80,000 to 31 countries. They’re made in GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, which is said to be the most profitable assembly plant in the world. We estimate they generate $20 billion in revenue for GM and about $4 billion in profits. Autoline Daily.

    Not too long ago the escalade was 60k. Now its 120k, they were already at a huge profit on their caddy brand because of the cross platform sharing at the 60k, in the last 20 years whats doubled the cost? You can say all the electronics but I say not. They have done away with all the metal, have gone to plastic trim, still have plastic interiors, switches, led lights, they don't even use forged wheels they use heavy cast wheels. They use dirt cheap engines, troublesome transmissions, same frame chassis, cheap carpet thats been standard for 30 years. Basically been putting lipstick on a pig for 20 years. Tossing touchpads where dials were previously, adding speakers where bolsters were before and to back it all up they again do more deceptive shit by switching to Nm torque shit that nobody knows or cares about..

      Especially used. I have an '18 ESV premium CPO that I bought in Feb of '19 for $64k. 6yr / 100k warranty. I couldn't find a Yukon for that price. The trick is to let someone else take the initial depreciation hit.

      All luxury vehicles depreciate like crazy. Lexus may be the only exception. I drive an '18 ESV Premium. Bought it in Feb of '19 with 9k miles. Paid $64K. Sticker was $97.2. CPO with 6 yr / 100k warranty. Wouldn't buy one new and I would never buy a first year redesign of ANY brand.

    OLEDs tend to have image burn in issues. Not sure it is the best technology for a screen that basically lives its life as a static image. Sounds more like a marketing selling point than functional technology in this application.

    The yukon at4 is more bang for your buck in my opinion because it has most of the escalade bells and whistles and can off-road with so it for the off-roaders and the family of five and they can go camping and to the beach with a jetski or something the escalade is just a status symbol but it can be used for the casual day to day but the yukon is more capable and tough and is probably cheaper to fix

    It couldn't help but notice the exclusion of the night vision camera on
    this model. I was wondering if it was an extra option of if they
    discontinued it. If so, that would be a step backwards for a flagship
    model. Also, was the engine cover removed or does it come like that?
    In any event, I think its hands down the leader of its American SUVs and
    well ahead of the Lincoln just like it did before. Although I have to
    give the Navigator an honorable mention for having the best in class
    seats in the auto industry, even if it falls short on the other luxury
    SUV amenities.
    As to how well it compare to its German rivals well it still has a ways
    to go. All the players from the VW Group are competition off-road
    vehicles and offer active anti-roll shocks, in addition to 4-wheel
    steering. Something no American SUV offers at any price. Also curious
    that Cadillac doesn't have its own distinct engine this go-round or a
    plug-in hybrid. One more thing, the hatch opening badge was stolen from
    Bentley, who stole it from VW.

    • @342boss
      @342boss 4 года назад

      They do need to add the Black Hawk, Black Wing 550 V8 in this SUV. I only shop for the ESV or L versions. Ford & GM are the only players. No foreign SUV can come close to towing and interior room.

      Smh. GM may be cracking up after reading this. Please explain the logic behind your comment because I can’t find any. According to this logic, you must also expect the Mercedes-Benz GLS580 to have 580 horsepower, the Lexus LX570 to have 570 horsepower, and a BMW 550i to have 550 horsepower. Am I right? Lol.

    • @TheProminentWord
      @TheProminentWord 4 года назад +1

      mybro727 because Mercedes uses “GLS580” to represent the model of the vehicle... unlike GM with this gem “Cadillac Escalade” and then they put a 600 next to the model.. what if Mercedes put 699 next to gls580 just to show how much torque in Newton-Meters the vehicle has? It’s pretty stupid.. Hennessy performance has the right idea by putting badges of the horsepower output on the vehicles they work on. I just think it would have been awesome to see 600 on there to represent the horsepower of the vehicle.. it adds a much better cool factor to the vehicle itself when people see the badge and say damn that thing has 600hp.. GM can laugh at me all they want but that’s the reason they’ve had to be bailed out lol because they don’t listen to the customer
