Historically, there were two Halloweens, one to celebrate going into winter, and the other to celebrate going into summer. The other one was the the last day of April, going into May. Some places still celebrate May day because of the old tradition. Realistically, there's absolutely nothing stopping us bringing back the other Halloween!

@@NiaJustNia well I don't know about the second halloween, but one thing you said is wrong, halloween wasn't to celebrate anything. It was actually mostly rituals to make sure no evil spirits could get to the people. The costumes were believed to make sure no evil spirits would follow you

@@merlijnmaassen8265 Halloween where I'm from was to celebrate the first day of winter and first day of summer (which is also their literal names in my language). It was believed that these two times of year are when the boundary between our world and the other world (so not just of the dead, but of faeries and things too) was at its thinnest and easiest to cross. Carving turnips into lanterns was done to ward off any negative or evil beings, there were villages games, festivities, story telling, rituals for a good harvest/ surviving the winter, warnings to the next generation about various fairies and spirits etc, and was seen as the time to practice communicating with the dead and telling fortunes, as it was meant to be the easiest time to commune with the dead, thus the best time to get any information on the future or make peace with lost loved ones.

Same here. I just sewed up a reduced handbag pattern to fit my 9 month old granddaughter for her Holiday outfit.
I told my daughter it was like sewing Barbie clothes as compared to sewing regular size handbags.
Love seeing her mother sew up these little clothes.

Gotta hand it to your mum. She deserves so much love for that skirt, it was just as much a masterpiece as the original. As someone that took 4 days just to sew a peplum tailcoat jacket with lining for my own winter project, a plush doll I built from scratch. I can only imagine how many hours she put into it~ ❤️

That petal skirt 😍 holy moly, that must have taken FOREVER. That she frayed the edges of each individual petal to make them fluffy is incredible. I’m in love with the whole doll. 101 Dalmatians was my favorite movie as a child, though I’m disappointed to admit I haven’t seen the new Cruella movie 😳

Please, please, please do the other Sanderson Sisters soon, please! As a small bonus, I have seen a few sites say Emma Watson could be a decent candidate for the fourth Sanderson Sister, Elizabeth. A few lighter tones here & there, but she could still fit amongst them. Maybe with a blueish color palette to help her seem more "good" & "pius"?
