The first 10 matches were definitely some of best dbfz action we’ve seen and was totally looking like we’re going the distance, but then go1 adjusted to sonic’s mixups and sonic does not have an answer.

That's because Sonics team only has one character with good mix up.
Al Vinn which is enough to rekt every US player, you gotta admit to defend all that mixup and react to dragon rush is quite an amazing feat
and even that, there's stronger mixups in other anime games that go1 has faced on, it's insane
GO1 definitely has the better team. Way better options to open you up. If you have Gohan with 2 lock down assists. you pretty much are guaranteed to open people up. When you get 5+ chances in every block string to mix... well, there's only so many times you can guess right.

What helped GO1 is that he’s super comfortable with all of his characters no matter the order, just like SonicFox. A lot of Vegeta players mainly keep him in the back for assist purposes, but he has no problem bringing him in and using him like a point character if need be.
GIR177 tbh I think he kept bringing him to show how “trash” vegeta is to sonicfox.
I think it's mostly because adult gohan too strong. but his vegeta is pretty cool.
I'm The Wabbit I Disagree with one point. Gohan is hella strong yeah, but thats definitely not the only reason, especially not when Fox has incredibly strong characters himself 16, Black, and Hit, so you can’t really say its just cause of Gohan. He was doing just fine with Vegeta and cell too. Sonic has fought tons of people, but he’s never fought someone this good who displays excellent usage of all three of his characters, and halfway through, Goichi was already in Fox’s head, you can see him trying to cover up being visibly frustrated. By that point, the set was already lost. Same thing happened with chris G, once Fox got in his head, the set was already done for
His defense and neutral in general are ridiculous. Gohan is super strong obviously but its not the reason he won.

I'm The Wabbit well vegeta was contributing a lot tbh especially defensively Go1 regularly calling vegeta up made sonic back down a lot and allow go1 to apply pressure instead of receiving it.
Vegeta can't be trash because DP is too good 😥 Also, Vegeta is super annoying on block & really small & stubby to hit.

So this is what happens when you put two of the best players in DB Fighterz together... Holy shit, Sonic started strong but then he got absolutely bodied. GO1 with cross ups, baits, staggers, mixups, assists, everything!!!! What an amazing display by him. I watched the whole thing, and it was so impressive that I feel I have to watch it again. Too much hype!
bodied by someone that rage quit in the middle of the match in a high tier event and they still let him fight......fucking should of auto lost because of that. You get mad and rage quit like that is when Sonicfox was disrespecting him is ridiculous. Not even a fan of his but raging like this is down right pitiful

kevin parker I mean it is just an exhibition match so it doesn’t REALLY matter but people will use it to talk shit still. Which ultimately sonic fox made him ragequit which says even more imo.
I love this video for so many reasons! It was definitely a set with much to learn for everyone, and even if one were to not even know either player, just looking at demographical backgrounds, these players are from completely different regions! Really glad that we can so how well we can compete on a global scale! Keep your head up sonic fox!
My two cents: Watch those tag-outs in the corner, especially when you already know that Gohan is pressuring your blocking string! You played well nonetheless! Superb matches by both parties!
Amazing! Finally got to see these two go at it. Wow, I wasn’t expecting Sonic Fox to take such a beating.
Also, the commentators are second to none. They really added a lot of excitement to the matches. And they are actually pretty funny. I hope to see these two paired up in more events.
Hopefully Sonic Fox will get a rematch soon. But wow, G01 is definitely the best player in the world.
16 and Hit have been shown to have a lot of great tools and set ups. But Go1 just has a better grasp of fundamentals. This was fundamentals VS character tools/set ups. Go1 is the stronger player today. Haha.
Super hype match. Bringing the hype train back to the fgc. This could be a fighting game that stands with the bigger esports titles.
Mortsvol fighting games are much too difficult for the masses to play for that. It's fun to watch but much harder to play than shooting games or mobas
shooters are also hard when we get to the top (cs or quake-like)
gia I play FPS and MOBA competitively, the games don't require you to study the ins and outs of the game like how fighting games require you to "lab" for 500 hours before you can play online. In FPS and MOBA, you get better as you play. 95% of gamers find "labbing" boring and drop the game.
thats only a detail if you want to enter online with an advantage already, you can join online on a newly released fighting game and do fine since theres a lot of noobs (noobs dont quit as easily on an fps or moba), the problem is after all the noobs left you can only compete with people above your skill level and you are forced to lab or quit, since fps and mobas keep more varied skill levels they can do matchmaking and let you progress at the speed you learn the game
before we diverge into miscommunication, I agree fighting games are harder for the masses (newbies), i only added that fighting games are not harder in general (at the top, all are hard)

This ended up being too free once GO1 learned the timing for when SonicFox wants to dragon rush.
Nah, to break grabs in a 2D game you have to recognize situations where they're doable, which can make it easier to react, same with ChrisG (who I think has never got hit by DR offline). There's only very few situations where you can get hit by DR in this game as opposed to other games or Marvel where 0f grab will mess you up so you gotta up your defense.

even if the command grab misses the beam still comes out so his offense continues.
Zekiel no, tfhe move sucks, it's too slow against people with reactions like go1. Did you see that confirm off an instant overhead crossup into spark combo? That's less than seconds of reactions.
This was so good to watch. The two teams I float between are A21/Hit/Goku Black and A.Gohan/Goku/Vegeta. I learned so much.

Insane how much the meta has evolved and how much better everyone is. I miss the old days when this game was new and we didn’t have covid. Don’t get me wrong the nationals were hype, but fighterz was at its peak here
Vegeta got so much leverage with just dragon punch (DP), but the combos outside of that were still really strong too. Maybe I don't trust tier lists for this game now.
Never ever trust tier lists from a game that was released for a couple weeks.
More generally, don't even look at them tbh
i believe vegeta is top tier. Best assists, solid normals. he also got a invincible dp. I can't believe in a game like this where offense is very strong, not every character has invincible dps to get off pressure if guessed right.
Establishing tier lists for 1v1 fighters is already hard (unless the game is extremely broken), but for 3v3 where team dynamics come into play, it is much, much harder. It'll take quite some time before any good tier list will emerge. And even then, they're based on a certain meta. I'm gonna stop here before I type up an essay about it :)
The tier list is still correct. It is just that GO1 has a better grasp of the fundamentals, displayed great blocking against Sonic Fox mix-up pressure game. Also displayed great anti-air defenses.
