It’s always a sad but beautiful thing when a campaign finally comes to a close. The beautiful reminders of all of your past adventures flooding back into your heart as the last session comes to a close, and the sadness of knowing that you will never get to have those memories experienced with your character, your best friend, ever again. At least, not in the same way. I truly hope you love your character as much as I love mine Cami, it’s the least they deserve for all the adventures they give us.

You know, this reminded me of something. Every so often somebody asks me if I "won at DnD" or something, and they always get frustrated when I say, "you don't win at DnD". They always get this sort of sneer that basically says "then what's the point in playing". The point is, at least for me, those moments where I could be thinking about them months to years later and they'll still bring a smile to my face. Thanks Cami for reminding why I still play when I can.
To everyone out there, know that a good DM is just as attached to your long lasting character as you, and my fellow DMs love to tell their stories to you, no matter how chaotic you make it. So go out there and make memories worth keeping, because it's the stories we tell that bring these worlds and these characters to life. Not just the DM, but the player to.
we DMs are old travelers in are so mysterious world telling are great feats and recalling the memories like old adults watching our kids grow it hurts so much to see them leave but what they leave behind is a story better than any campaign or book ever god knows without them we are empty books with dust and no life

Are you TRYING to make us cry? 😭😭😭 But seriously, this is why D&D is such an amazing game! Because of how it brings people together, especially in times such as this. You clearly see this effect in Critical Role and other channels that are D&D centric; they all have amazing times throughout their campaigns and they all come out with stronger bonds for the better. The passion and the tone in this brings me back to one of my favorite campaigns. It was a Hunter: The Reckoning / Mage: The Ascension crossover, and spanned.. Hell, I want to say it was two or three years? It impacted me deeply, and nearly fifteen years later, it still resonates with me in a million little ways. This.. Brings me back to that. To a different time, a different place, and.. Funnily enough, a different Atlantis. It's bittersweet, but on the whole, appreciated. I've recently had a two year Campaign end; it was easily my best and favorite experience in TTRPGs, and it was a such a bittersweet ending, with the Party saving the world (And, making friends with the BBEGs). I'm nearing the end of my very first campaign with some friends i graduated with and even though our dm is a first-time dm, he has done an amazing job and has made this a great experience for me. Last night I finished running a minicampaign with my D&D group set in my homebrew setting that was heavily inspired by Atlantis. We've had our ups and downs as a group, but coming together and playing helps us just, make it through the week. So, I couldn't resist sending that group of adventurers off to this song. We still have many stories left to tell in my world, but its always bittersweet to leave off a tale like that. Thanks for being a part of it through your song, and thanks for your amazing music.

About a month late finding this but it made me emotional. What you said and felt is true and real. Tabletop rpg's, not just D&D, have such a huge positive impact on people if they only open their minds and hearts to it. The experience is genuine and cannot be discovered anywhere else. Many people, especially now in these uncertain times, are falling in love with D&D and Tabletop games in general. Point is that because of your discovery of D&D and the fact you just fit in and felt right at home, you found your voice. And it is a magnificent and bewildering voice. You and others may not see it but, your life, from the moment you discovered D&D has become a love story of a sort. I saw this pretty much the day it was posted and at the time I didn't have the words to express what TTRPGS mean to me, to all of us really, and what they should represent, until recently. The only word to really describe my experience with TTRPGs whether that be IRL or Virtual is "Empathy". It is through empathizing with others we truly connect. I have been at tables with people I never thought I would enjoy spending time with, but as I've been playing for well over a decade now I can to realize those feelings of unease would dwindle to the prospect of understanding... Because if we can't at least understand each other "What's the Point?" It is only through TTRPGs I have met people from all walks of life, and I have watched and witnessed the people go through the gift of "Growth" and "Change", the people whom I thought would never change their ways accommodated for those who felt lost and those who only looked one direction began to see other perspectives. And even now in my current games I learn things about myself I would have never otherwise discovered. For many years I didn't consider myself to be overly selfless, but when the pandemic hit I learned that was not the case. During the time of 2020-2021, I actively chose to continue to run games for my player groups, that was three separate groups, when the shutdown was announced I made a split decision. I would run games for people, sure they weren't live face to face anymore, but for a few hours a day in a week I could give people a place to connect and escape the harsh uncertainty the world offered. Those years I learned a lot about myself and what I would sacrifice for the sake of others. And it turns out I'll sacrifice a lot. I have learned I will traverse hell to let others leave theirs. So what does that say about this song? It means you have a great friend! Empathy to me ultimately means "Connection". And so through games and song I hope you continue to find that.
