Look up 4 chords by Axis Of Awesome, but in any case if you are too lazy to listen to that song, its called the 4 chords of pop and its named that because its probably one of the most overdone 4 chords. Most people say its most blatant/original use was in Don't stop believeing by journey, but it may have been ripped off as well. It doesn't really matter anyways its still really overused.

Maybe classical music, but even classical music has a similar pattern. I am always quite annoyed when someone says that the world is dumber than the past....humans have always been dumb, we are animals, and we have animal minds. We aren't all knowing Gods, there is no way we can know all there is to know about the world without getting mixed up, and it cannot be expected of humans to be smarter than they already are. You would have to be a creationist to believe that we are waayyy smarter than our cats or dogs or apes. Let me tell you this, the "system" is stupid people using their smart expertise to exploit other stupid people, who will somehow exploit that person somewhere else in return. There is no one smart guy watching over his rats. Its just a endless cycle of stupid people exploiting other stupid people. I know this doesn't have much to do with music theory, but its something that I have noticed.
Your mind's limits are only created by your mind... Like I said, I don't expect you to believe, but know, that musical time & formula are a real thing, not some theory.. The structure of popular music in any genre is an industry standard, and while yes, there is an exception to every rule.. When each song on your album is written to fit this standard, musical boundaries are not being pushed. This girl played at least 50 songs from pop culture from the last 10 years (at the most) in a 4/4 time 4 cord progression, and no... Popular music has not always had a 1 formula standard in fact

I just listened to your album. I think it's great but I don't believe you're singing naturally. Your songs and lyrics are good but it sounds to me like you're trying to be Lady Gaga. Just because you have the range doesn't mean you have to use it.
