In case you guys didn't know, this was the first time they played this song live in its entirety (they had teased fans with bits of it over the years) 26 years after it released. Props to Helsinki for making good use of the Metallica by Request Tour.
Frayed has been in my top 5 Metallica songs since I discovered Justice and i never understood why it wasn't played live. IMO it's one of their 2 most underrated songs along with a big ol' fat motherfucker called "THE THING THAT SHOULD NOT BE" \m/ \m/
I was at this show pretty close to the front. The important thing here is this song is from 1988 yet it's the first time ever Metallica played it live (2014). Over the years they teased fans by playing 30 seconds of the intro many times between songs, but since this tour was a "by request" setlist where fans voted for the songs, we in Finland finally got our chance and voted Frayed Ends of Sanity, while most countries wasted their votes picking generic songs that were already played a lot. Frayed was definitely a treat for the fans, while the casual crowd didn't really know any better. And yes, it was indeed a cold and rainy evening :)

When i got out of the train in Helsinki it was about 5 degrees celsius and a really, really cold wind.. When we came to the beach where the festival took place, the wind was even colder and i remember saying to my friend. "It could be worse, it could be raining.." F*ck.. i shouldn't have said that... It got colder and rain was hitting us from all angles. Water even went "through" my leather jacket... You could see the guitarists struggle with cold fingers from time to time also. Anyway, it was an awesome experience and i will never forget it!

It was the 28th of May 2014. Before that we had had temperatures over 20-25C during several weeks in May in Finland. But then it was under 10C and the rain. Of course, the rest of the summer (Jun-Aug) turned out to be one of the warmest summers ever in Finland..

Take a look at Master of puppets from manchester. They do a show in fully rain. I was in prague in 2014 and they were playin in 1 hour heavy storm, not judt under roof. In a fucking heavy rain, water was everywhere. James after few songs tell us something i will remember forever. Its just water, its life, enjoy it.

A band called vengeance has a guitarist that can fly and drummer that's absolutely sick. You don't have react to it but at least listen to song called accension. There's no way you won't tell that it's phenomenal no way. Come on jump out of that comfort zone of popular and step into other greatness. There's so much out there. Faster guitar then this song.
