Isn't he too slight for International rugby? Costelow is not the answer, so Ben Thomas is the only option we have. I will be honest, I haven't seen much of this lad but he looks little small for me. Hope I'm wrong.
There's been a lot of talk about letting Dan develop in the league...think he's ready now. He was invited into camp last summer but was suffering from concussion so couldn't. If Gatland doesn't call him up for the 6 Nations this year, he really will be showing how out of touch he is.
Surely this lad has to be in the next Welsh squad, even if he doesn't start I'd play him against Italy, (No I'm not saying we will beat Italy) but that would be the game I'd put in for, As long as Gatland let's him play and not just kick the poxy ball. Doesn't look like he has any fear at all and loves to play with the ball in hand.
Well said he's got that sudden acceleration and an eye for a gap and a good offload too.following Wales from afar (New Zealand) all the best for the upcoming 6nations I hope he makes the squad
As an outsider looking in who remembers the U20 6n in 2022 he looked pretty good for Wales in that tournament even though Wales weren’t great in it. He is the one they should be putting everything behind and is or certainly will be better than what Wales currently have.
A young 10 in side that's constantly under pressure, he's going to be targeted, like Teddy and Morse it's s only a matter of time before the shirt is his.
I think it's a good thing that he hasn't been picked yet. He's still learning, and rather than suddenly being pushed into a poorly performing Welsh team, he's got the opportunity to learn game control at URC level. I feel that there's a few players in the Welsh team who have really been picked too soon and has completely undermined their confidence and development. I'd be happy if Edwards had the rest of the season, training with the Welsh squad, then was introduced for the Japan tour. The same should apply to Ford and Wilde, talented players who need time to develop.
Fair enough but the team needs another 14 players too. One person cannot win a match or shall I say that it does not really happen these days. I am South African and remember the early days with Wales and Gatland. They were virtually unbeatable even against the Springboks
Yes an attacking creative no 10. Watch some grebo flatten him after the ball. One promising career ruined. Late hits on no 10s need to be red carded imo else we lose that creativity from the game. That's why I've watched the game for decades.
No listen people Focusing on individual players will never work Use a wholistic approach to this game or you won’t beat South Africa or New Zealand. Get powerful forwards and back line players or you won’t make any of it
Which URC star do you want to see highlights of next?
Tom Rogers Or Kieran Hardy
We have not had any joy filling the 10 shirt since Biggar retired. Dan Edwards is the real deal.
I did however love the way he combed his hair before taking a penalty kick lol.
He definitely deserves his chance.

@@Rebelass74 Smaller in the backline is more speed and agility.
@Rebelass74 I always think of Damien Mckenzie when it comes to these things, and he's roughly the same height as Dan Edwards and lighter actually.
It great to see some good young Welsh talent coming through. I hope this is a sign of more to come.
Handy looking player. Nice to see a Welsh half, happy to drop a goal
Dan has now been named in Wales' Six Nations squad 🙌
As a Cardiff supporter I can say after watching him against us he ran the show very impressive best option we have I think ❤
I seriously cant understand how costelow is rated above him! Absolute madness.
Probably something to do with how he trains or his mentality. Gatland is a stickler for how players behave when in camp.
@@RhysWilliams-u3oEdwards has never been in camp so gatland wouldn’t know

Really good young player.

Italy is probably Wales' biggest game this 6N

What a player!
Great potential, and we need it!
Ospreys 9 & 10 should be in the six nations squad (Cardiff fan).
Ospreys fan and no, Tomos Williams should be the 9, no question
I agree, they look to have established a good partnership and understanding of each other's play.
Agree Tomos should be first choice, but amazed RMW isn't in the squad after the season he's having
Quality player…he has it all….i predict a big future for him 👍
Oh dear. A good Welsh fly-half and scrum-half (Gloucester).
Upcoming Welsh Legend
These highlights make the Ospreys look good 👀
Best Welsh region by a country mile
And there's so many of them
He's head and shoulders above Costelow already. Given the time to develop, he's going to be the real deal.
Been the best performing Welsh Regional 10...so naturally gatland hasn't picked him
He may not train well, or be distracted while in camp. "Too small" is another Gatland favourite.

Wow, I can't wait to see Dan Edwards in the six nations. He is certainly a bright light who I'm sure will take his chance to shine.
He’s way better than Sam Costellow, that man is terrible at club level how he’s playing for Wales I never know!
@ I Agree, only good thing this 6 nations is he’s out lol 😂 gutted max llewellyn ain’t in the squad
"Oooh... like a young Jonathan Davies..."
I'd give him a shot. looks like he has more to his game than the current crop of out halves Wales have at there disposal!
The kid box office
Tenacious D.

There's a bit of Barry John about this lad..
I wonder if Gatland will give him a shot.
Sack Gatland and build around him
Who will be a suitable coach?
I want him in 6N bad, but is it better for him to wait for Japan tour to not have Gats / Howley ruin him??? Same for Reuben MW and others

Do wales still play rugby.
