I have been a vegetarian for 5 years and it looks like I stopped aging too...it feels great :)
Vegetarian food is in fact significantly cheaper than non-vegetarian food. When you consider the cost of health problems, this difference becomes even larger.
I have always been healthier and happier as a vegan. I smell better too.
I'm a vegetarian because I care about humans, the environment and ethical treatment of animals. That said, I don't think arguments for vegetarianism are helped by falsehoods. It is not accurate to say that humans are born to be vegetarians, that we can not eat raw meat, or that meat rots inside the body. All of these topics are touched on in an introductory university level biology class.
A few more details on that in my next comment.

we are gifted with such a complex and highly intelligent mind.
to make the most of this mind we must make wise decisions, and we can decide what lives or what dies. We have been given so much power yet people still slaughter innocent beings on a daily basis.
In the Buddhist tradition and belief, we do not wish to bring pain or harm to any sentient being. This practice is called Ahimsa. Hindu will also understand Ahimsa. So to fully practice Ahimsa, one must abstain from all meat.
Namaste
I love your speech. thank you so much for sharing it. I just said to another man, he was "forced to eat meet because he was at a family dinner" And so I said to him why would you eat for some other person. If you are not hungry for a food that somebody gives you, take it and eat it later!!!!
Thanks again for your video
Did nature rely on us to construct tools for hunting animals? Did nature rely on us to discover fire to cook our meat so we dont get sick? I feel I can relate to this guy, what he's saying couldn't be more true.
i tried to be vegetarian last week but i only lasted 3 days, but i did feel more calm for those three days. I dont eat that much meat now so it kinda worked.

michaellaguerre, the common sense is that eating animal corpses is NASTY.
This is very true when swamiji says that cows are entranced by music...Search for Jazz for cows on youtube...
wow, i don't even know what to say to this. there's just too many places to begin so i'll just say namaste.
yes, vegetarians should either avoid milk product or consume only organic milk where animals are treated humanely with no hormones injected.
We're your 100% vegetarian rock band!
well not to be biblical but... in corrinthians? the old testament we were not to eat animals with hooves, that fly or certain sea creatures or that eat rotten nasty stuff. i may be incorrect in the book from the bible. but honestly i did read that in the bible. i was a vegetarian when i was 14 i lost soo much weight. i have changed my diet to vegetarian again. simply because i want to. i thinks it's more healthy.
Yeah I agree, his voice is very relaxing.
In human society, yes.
In nature, no.
Even if you don't agree with him. He is very peaceful sounding.Lol. He literally put me to sleep.
I very much agree that the human body itself is not made for consuming animals, but with the same token the human body has adapted over the years to eating meat. The human body at one point had flatter, more dull teeth and also had use of the vestigal organ known as the Appendix.
The appendix was originally used, according to many theorists, for processing cellulose in leafy plants and potentially wood in trees. Today, humans are unable to process startches to the fullest potential and...
there is so much crap going on with meat now a days. why not go vegetarian. there are so many products out here to buy. it's expensive but i love all the choices. tastey too.
I hate it when people claim they're vegetarian, even though they add stuff like "I'm sort of vegetarian because I only eat chicken".
On a related note: I hate it when people claim they're straight edge when they're really not... "I don't drink a lot of alcohol so I'm almost straight edge..."
Regarding lifestyles like vegetarianism/straight edge/veganism, there is no "almost", either you are or you're not, period.
@marekiller8 Very true. TOO many people are in denial, meat is not an essential part of a human's natural diet, animals are tortured like crazy (just because they're not there, or ignoring it, doesnt mean its not happening..) If people just woke up and realized what damage meat produce is causing to the beautiful natural world, all the bad would turn good in no time, and improve at least instead of just keep on getting worse & worse & dying out slowly :( that is the REAL world trouble.
It's true. I used to eat alot of meats. I ended up getting very sick so I went vegetarian. I think it saved my life. After having a baby I had to eat meat again to bring up my iron. Not only did I keep getting sick, but I cannot loose weight. Going back vegetarian to once again save my life.
@MrInjerreau But not as many are being killed because vegetarians aren't contributing or supporting the industry. It is estimated that if one person becomes vegetarian, 100 animals are saved per year. Therefore, 100 animals are not killed for that person to eat. So there is some help in that.
Thank you for the video Yogeeshashram :-)

CaptainGarryRules, don't judge by yourself. Not everyone is an escimo, even inuits can substitute animal protein for tofu(for example).
Vegetarianism is cool, veganism is better.
p.862-863 of Campell and Reece's "Biology 7ed" explains how humans have teeth and a digestive system for eating both meat and plants.
p.443 "Biology: Concepts and Conections 5ed" explains how milk and meat contain the right balance of essential amino acids for making human proteins. Also explained on p.443 is that these amino acids can be derived from a plant based diet but it requires attention and know-how or a vegetarian may suffer disease caused by protein deficiency.
to continue....
humans have many characteristics that suggest that they are meant to be omnivorous. Humans have reduced forms of pointy canine teeth (either side of front row of teeth), which true herbivores don't have at all. At the same time, we have molars (back) and incisors (front), which suggest that we are also suited for an omnivorous diet...
Now to quickly reply to a reply by 456josh to a previous post, fat is not harmful, but in fact beneficial in many ways...
killing is always murder..
Trivia point; Hank Aaron the all time home run hitter in major league baseball was a lifelong vegetarian. He was huge AND strong AND fast. No meat OR steroids. "Hammerin" Hank Aaron was a powerful vegetarian!!
Really liked your video!
@Frogstomp121 the way that animals are handled in todays western culture is just shameful. I'm sorry that you had to see such a tragedy.
@MegaCherryCat You pick a grape from a grapevine, the vine lives on; You help this species by spreading its seed when you take the fruit. This is the way that is beneficial to the plant, the animal, and the human.
2 years? GOOD JOB! i mean GOOD CHOICE! ive been one for 1 year 7 months. :]]] And i think it was a Amazingg choice too. (:
great video
Be a vegetarian and know how.
I am a vegetarian since one year and I feel great being a vegetarian. Stop killing poor and innocent animals, stand against animal abuse.
You know, he brings up surprisingly good points. In terms of claws, teeth, and GI tracts, he's correct that humans are much more suited to be vegetarian. At the least, ovo-lacto vegetarians. However, it comes in stark contrast to the human psyche, which has dictated that people hunt for as long as people have hungered.
He has a point people! Everything he's saying is true, meat is bad for you and we shouldn't be eating animals anyway! YAY FOR ANIMAL RIGHTS!!!!
I agree.!
Meat is murder, ppl need to quit saying that "god didnt make them for us to stare at the stupid animals" no God made them for us to LOVE them. Go Vegetarian.! (:
We're getting off topic here but... It's not only USA's demand, it's the world's. Demand for our food exports rose nearly 40% this year. Every acre matters, and to protect it, we unfortunately have to sacrifice some innocent animals. Sad, but true.
If we all tried to be zero-touch vegetarians as suggested, there would be a lot of starving vegetarians.
ok. Which vegetable to you get Iron from?
Very interesting, liked the Krishna story, first animal rights activist.Peace.
very nice
magnetmanca
I don't know PETA, so I cannot answer.
But why didn't you answer my question:How human meat is different from any other mammal???
That's a good argument. Can you imagine burger joints and all those places that depend on meat going out of business if people stopped eating meat products?
You guys who are mean to him, cut it out. I don't 100% agree with him, and I still think that you need to give this guy a break. I am a vegetarian that believes that human bodies were set up to digest meat. This does not mean that I think that humans HAVE to eat meat to be healthy. We have the choice to eat what we want, and we are blessed in that way. Plus, most of the meat today contains a lot of harmful hormones and chemicals. This guy is just one guy with an opinion. Give him a break.
Fabulous video! We don't have to kiill to eat but it's human nature to do harm and destruction. Cancer is the result of a diet consisting of meat, especially red mest. For the disbelieves! Well! you'll just have to wait and see for yourselves, Thanks for sharing this inspiring video@

There's hundreds of vegetarian animal species with canines larger than humans: elephants, hippos, gorillas, horses, zebras, camels, water deer, etc...
i call myself raw eater but i eat rice 3 times a
i call myself vegan but i eat pizza once a week.
i call myself a vegetarian but i eat sushi twice a month.
everything is with moderation, combined with ethics and benefit.
tdegenna, when I was FORCED to work on fields in USSR as unpaid child slave I didn't witness any killed animals. And field burning, as far as I know is used by Australian Aboriginals and other meat eating tribes.
Yea, I notice people let their emotions override the truth - such as dietary habits overriding a natural diet. That's why I thought you were a veg: because meat-eaters often start trying to justify their eating habits when the truth is put before them.
But that has nothing to do with their eating habbits. It is because of "fatigue" of joints and cartilages which are used more than they are designed for. Without meat they would suffer the lack of energy needed for intensive training. It is 100%. You can ask whoever you want to that knows little about medicine and body structure. Being a vegetarian is not natural. It is forcing the body to be something that it isn`t. Most of people are vegs just because they hate to eat meat, but body needs it.
if everyone don`t buy it.You solve everything with that logic
nuts and seeds have protein
"they're just animals"
don't complain when you have to care for your self and you enter the food chain.
Strong point man. It's all true.
1Ti 4:1 In the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy;
1Ti 4:3 Commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
1Ti 4:4 For every creature of God [is] good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
1Ti 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer AMEN
well, I'm already 7 years vegetarian.
I would love to become a vegetarian. Much more Energy efficient since it takes aproxemately ten times as much energy to create flesh then to create an equal amount of plant-matter. And not to forget all that stuff with animal suffering. Tough in my way there is a problem: I can't stand vegetables, Mostly because if find their consistency absolutely disgusting: watery-crunch-gooey.
Then again there are lot's of vegetarians who didn't think of that :D
@mellamosean Really? Because Charles Darwin was an expert in anatomy, and he concluded that like the other great apes/large primates (i.e., gorillas, orangutans and chimps), we are plant-eaters by design. Of the great apes I mentioned, chimps eat the most meat at 1%. This is not nutritionally significant. They do it for ritualistic reasons and to attract mates--like humans. I would wager that Darwin was a little bit better versed in comparative anatomy than you are.
Why do you eat meat? Maybe you can provide a few good answers!
(I'm a vegetarian, but not for the same reasons provided in this video, as many do not make scientific sense.)
For me it is not about whether it is healthy or not (I believe vegatarianism it is)it is about u want to kill or not or rather you want to make other being to suffer or not I am not eating meat for something like 6 months (not long) I've recently watched meat the meat (sth like that) and that did it, no more meat not because of killing (it is a part of life and quick death doesn't seem something bad but what do I know) but about making other living forms suffer.
"People all over the damn planet have the right to eat whatever the fuck they want"--Maybe you mean whoever instead of whatever???
ok. number one. It isn't processed vomit. Tofu is processed vomit. Eating meat based products is good healthy and natural. That's why man invented spears millions of years ago.
Man didn't start out as farmers they were hunters
@onlinefriend4ever according to us (vegetarians), it means that animals and humans are both alive beings
i m aware life is ...a great mystery
and death is the same for everybody!
respects from France
how? what makes us superior?
It isn't already?
So are you - and I. And how is that a problem?
he talks so slow because he thinks before hes talking i think !?, anyway .. be vegetarian is maybe one of the most hard parts in the todays western culture
1) "...put animal life over human life...". How your life will be endangered???
2) If tens of billions of animals fit in small enclosed death row jails, they will fit in all areas where humans don't live. Do you think the Earth is one giant Singapore or Hong-Kong, have you been outdoors sometime???
3) "...if you think most people would want to live amongst wild chickens, cows, etc ur crazy...". I didn't know that chickens and cows are such dangerous animals. Did a cow bite a piece of your ass?
Another closes minded response, grass, ha! Thanks. Message me when you suffer from Prostate cancer.
To be frank, this man is not very well informed on modern knowledge of nutrition and diet. Let me try to correct a few things from what I know...
Humans don't have the longest intestines relative to body size. Although it is true that carnivores like lions have shorter intestines, herbivores have much longer intestines than humans do (relative to body size) in order to accommodate digestion of a primarily plant-based diet, which is tougher on the digestive system than a meat-based diet...
@Ctupper1990 You have to eat something to survive. Plants do not have brains or nervous systems. Without a nervous system, you do not feel pain/suffer. Is mowing your lawn the moral equivalent of chopping off an animal's leg? You know it is not. If you have to eat something, you should eat something that does not suffer, or suffers the least. Fruits are made by plants to be eaten, so that they seeds they contain are spread. You are not "killing" or hurting anything, like with meat.
I'm sorry to hear about your experience.
My comment may have been ethnocentric in that I was talking specifically about the States, where we use field burning. We also routinely hunt and kill birds, groundhogs, rats, and other pests in order to protect our crops. Many harvesting methods use machinery that actually kills many animals in the process. We need to do this to keep up with the demand for food. With today's demand for food, it's unrealistic for everyone to be a vegetarian.
I cant be a vegetarian because im a Zombie.
Well I guess to answer your question.I supposed there is no real differance other than its from another mammal. I don't supposed texture comes in to play huh? heh heh.
@Frogstomp121
i got the pretty much same story : - )
it's awesome that you are vegetarian, we are proud of you :)
yar jab hi to insan ashraful makhlukat ha because we have mind greater then any animal
Well, I have to disagree. Humans are omnivores, not carnivores, not herbivores, but both. Therefore, people who reject meat, have bad blood (lack of eritrocites), they are not as strong and have lack of energy. Almost no ahtlete is vegetarian, because you need meat to get specific nutriens for muscles. You also can`t compare my dog to who I have emotions to the cow I didn`t know. I am against abusing animals before slauther, but I am not against meat.
I agree it isn't right to be treated so badly. Animals don't deserve that kind of treatment.
But you have to think.
The world just can't decide to just stop eating animals. Think of all those people who will lose jobs and plus how would it affect the economy?
My mom stopped eating meat and her health went down. she had to take iron pills.
I don't understand how people can abide and enslave the animals that give them the delicious fairyland meat. It seems messed up. If people want to take from animals, at least they should treat them with respect and gratitude.
My point was not to say that they were cute and cuddly coz i dont roll like dat, my point was dat they have souls too.. you might aswell go and eat any random stranger on the roads then init? They (animals) have the same rights we do! >:(
This guy speaks to slow but i think he's got ok points...although red meat isn't apparently totally bad for you, alot of it lies in genetics and lack of excercise
A vegan lifestyle still means
animals have and will die for you. Name any product you have purchased or the shelter you live in or the transportation you use the environment was harmed and animals were wither harmed or killed.
if god didnt want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat ?
@MegaCherryCat But plants my dear have no central nervous system. Thank u.
Every vegetable or fruit contains iron.
and not to be funny... but i think this man's lack of energy, sluggish pace, and evident inability to think clearly is an indication of what can happen if humans don't eat a natural omnivorous diet (as was done by human ancestors for several million years before the advent of vegetarianism by silly humans in the past 3000 years)
investinethics:"...our position as vegetarians..."
-----------
If you were TRUE vegetarian you wouldn't write "The taste of meat and the bite is a very important category for most meat eaters." Is this carnivore cooking video??? What does it mean "...taste of meat and the bite..." Are you saying it is ethically accepted behavior to eat dismembered animals???
Meat is nasty! Its disgusting to eat other animals flesh, just imagine eating your own poor dogs flesh or another humans flesh. I personally think that being vegetarian is healthy and organic because eating other animals is harsh and not nice! They have souls aswell and they have eyes, ears, nose and feeling too, and just think about the way the animal is killed, its killed in pain and just imagine u eating an animal who suffered... It kind of means ure heartless :( Dont eat animals! Save them!
contined... could potentially poison the human body.
investinethics, do you take into consideration the interests of crocodiles too??? That would be more justified because crocodiles have physical needs, not a perverted interest in everything violent and pathological like some humans do.
You don't understand my argument. Please re-read.
well put imbrickle. logic over and reason over moral weakness.
Really? What have you done to feed the starving lately?
Aj, do you know how much hate mail/comments I recieve because I'm a Muslim?
@Ctupper1990
any proof of the suffer ?
lol. That wasn't logic I was saying just a fact man. we are all omnivores. Man can have it both ways.
Would you consider a lioness taking down a wate buffalo murder? Thats just nature.
