Good day, Luke, thank you so much for sharing your opinion on the mod :) You are absolutely right about small issues here and there (and I will keep updating and improving the stuff as possible). Also you may have been noticed that in your video female player kinda quickly "skips" the dialogue, because of speech pack not installed. Interesting thing related to this: that recently I have received a message from CDPR stuff asking me to remove all AI-generated voices from the mod, which I took from Witcher 3 game. Just to make it clear: they are not against AI, but against abusing voices from their games. It's fully understandable from their side and kinda silly from my side to think that it is allowed. So I had to remove all the AI voices I made (Ciri/Triss/Yennefer) and made a placeholder "muted voice" (lipsync mouth animation with no sound), but also asked the community if someone from female VAs ready to help me with that (record their voice for me to make new AI models which won't break CDPR copyrights) - and I was pleasantly surprised with few suggestions came soon after, so there will be community voices (at least for English).
For me a third person AAA game needs to have a well written main character to succeed at the highest level... that's why I don't think that a custom character would work as good, the reason why the previous Witcher games were so great was because of Geralt of Rivia, his Story, his Personality and all the lore behind it. Of course there are other great single-player titles like Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls titles like Oblivion and Skyrim, or the Fallout games, but for those games it works because they are mainly played in first person mode, and the "lack of a main character" is no problem because it actually feels like you (the player) are the main character... This is why playing Cyberpunk was so weird to me, we're playing in first person but we are also someone else, aka. V, i never really connected with V... like at all, there was almost no backstory, all of the lore seemed to be about the Night City itself (which was good don't get me wrong). But yeah, for the Wither 4 i want them to create a completely new character with an already established story and lore, with previously established relationships with other characters in the game, histories ect.. I don't want to play as Ciri because she's just way to OP..., I mean at the end of the game she was basically a demi-god who was able to teleport at will during combat, heck even travel through other dimensions and other worlds... She wont be a good character in my opinion Unless* they NERF her heavily down to the point where she's on a level of a "Master Witcher" like Geralt was... Simply put a Witcher game should be about a "Witcher", a sword for hire that specialises in killing monster, that's trained in the arts of alchemy, tracking, hunting, swordsmanship and magic, that creates potions and oils which he uses to stain his two blades, a steel one for humans and a silver one for monster... that's a Witcher game to me, Ciri couldn't provide that experience if she' not heavily nerfed.
And then there's the whole matter of the dialogue having to be written in a certain way to address the protagonist in a generic manner. When you have a set character like Geralt, the dialogue flows far more naturally.
To each their own, I prefer BG3 and Fallout 1,2 and NV precisely because the character is highly customizable and it doesn't take away from characters like Joshua Graham or Mr House just because I can't play as them. I can immerse myself in the world and relate to the protagonist way more than I could as Geralt, as Geralt always has some white knight opinions and makes a lot of not so smart decisions I just go with because the game tells me I have to.

Seems to me like they're the people who actually care about the story and want it to get better but instead of labeling them diehard fans they label them haters for understanding the lore better than the showrunners do. If you talk to them they'll tell you they don't want to be right about it being shitty but as fans of the story they're not going to stay silent when shit is what they're given. Same way if I'm a fan of a video game series and they release a shit game I'm not going to praise it just because it's a series I like I'm going to tell them exactly what's wrong with it and I don't think that makes me a hater or troll.
What if they went the way of one of the board games and went The Witcher: Old World? It would be a time when there were many witchers, when there were many monsters, many witcher houses.
I still wish we get Geralt in The Witcher 4. Yeah its pretty much confirmed we can't play him but a man can dream.... The characters were the most memorable from The Witcher 3 for me.
Funny enough, I played Witcher 3 in it's intirety once as Morvran Voorhis, Imperor of Nilfgaard. Made possible by a similar mod called "doppelganger...something."
Hey Luke it seems like you love replaying games to see if they still hold up/ if they fixed or improved upon I recommend checking out the latest no man's sky update which overhauled almost everything from planets and graphics to gameplay changes 🙂
I hope we don't..if they do it like in CP77 where you can change the appearance okay..but not like in skyrim. The story would suffer from thst immensely and story is soo important for cdpr games
When i first heard that Witcher 4 would no longer have Geralt as the main playable character i thought it would be ruined. But after playing through CP2077 multiple times both as male and female V i have no worries at all. And i did not even like the cyberpunk genre at first i was always a medieval fantasy fan but 2077 ended up being so good that its my most played singleplayer RPG.
The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. My book grails. My favourite games of all times. Have all of the books and guides. Baldur’s Gate 3 is trying to sneak into your my holy grail too LOL.
As a long time fan of the Witcher IP (played all 3 games, the third numerous times, tried the spinoffs, and even started reading the books) I would not be mad in the slightest if the fourth game took the "create your own Witcher" route. People tend to overlook how well V worked in Cyberpunk as well as the shear amount of gameplay possibilities inherent for such an approach. Plus, it's always nice to see yourself in a universe you appreciate so much. Oc, playing as Ciri would also be a great option.
Can not wait for the moment that with the new Red kit full story mods will be made ... In order for me to jump back in the world of the Witcher until the remake of the Witcher 1 is here or its time for the Witcher 4
A character creator would be super cool for this franchise, given the interesting distinctions between each witcher school, their methods and their fighting styles. I won't lie though, I'm a bit concerned that we'll lose that more personal narrative that The Witcher has done so perfectly with Geralt previously.
They already showed the new game's medallion is some kind of a cat. And the School of the Cat is the only one known to train women, after they went AWOL. So would also give a fully lore friendly basis for full character customization.
I don't have any info on that, but I actually think (and I could bet some money on it) that the new Witcher will come out in 2026 for current gen, and then in 2028 they will release a next gen version. That's just a smart way to do it.
@@PostScriptumPL The Witcher 3 full production started in 2013 (pre-production in 2011) and it was released in 2015 which gives 2 years of full production (and less than 4 years in total). With smaller team and technology that caused a lot of problems. The pre-production of the new Witcher game started in 2021/2022 so we have basically the same time, but the team is bigger, they restructured their workflow to be more efficient and they have help from Epic with the engine. I think it is actually very possible to release in 2026. Also they confirmed that remake of the first game will come after the main one.
If they can maintain the quality of the writing we got from the original games (& yes, that's a big 'if' given the state of the writing in most modern media), I'd love to play as my own witcher that's fully customisable. If anyone can pull it off it would be them so there is some hope.
Since it’s already established it’s the school of the lynx that doesn’t exist in the lore it will most likely be set at least a few decades after Witcher 3, I personally hope that means they’ll retcon a way we can be a female Witcher since it’ll probably be character creation based with a set character like V but I would understand if only male is available to be lore accurate even if it’s set in the future, now I will 100% try that mod tho
They should honestly just repeat what they did with cyberpunk and make a v like protagonist again. Enough established lore to help guide the story but still enough room for you to let you make V your own.
I think W3 should have gotten more DLCs, especially one that would give us more witcher simulation tools. New tracking quests, secrets, and random things around the world.
I am definitely going to try out this mod! For me, Witcher 3 is hands down, one of the best games ever made! The story, the characters, the entire world is fascinating. I have high hopes for the Witcher 4 game, but I also am sceptical that the studio(and modern day writers) will be able to make anything to even comes close to the experience of its predecessor. They may not be as bad as Disney's writers, but that has become a very, very low bar!😂
Seems like a neat excuse to revisit the game. I hope the next Witcher title doesn't go the route of "unnamed custom character" though. Games like the Witcher, Red Dead Redemption, and even Disco Elysium are all standout stories in part due to how much their protagonists feel like complex, well-defined and established individuals, who existed well before the player arrived in the world.
We simply do not need this for the next game as it is the beginning of a new saga in this universe. With CDPR implying it’s a saga they are indirectly saying that they will have their own character made up that you’ll be playing with for 3 games. NOT a game where you can create your own character. Now I have no objections to them doing a spin-off with either Ciri heading the game OR a spin-off where you can create your own Witcher with your own “Witcher school background” this would be really fun just not for their next saga imo. Hoping they make the right choice and just give us an established character.
Oh and I almost forgot. CDPR showing us the lynx medallion at least shows that if they happen to have a character creator you’ll have no control over their “background” in terms of the school. So that may be another clue as to why they won’t have a character creator
I love when people say "It's called The Witcher, where is the Witcher", like dude, never ever read the books because you will be reading 200 pages without a mention of Geralt lol
Question: I just recently got grandmaster ursine armor and the chest plate is level 270 but others that I've watched play the game they seem to have the same armor at a higher level or sometimes lower, what determines that? and can I level up my armor? and this goes for all the armor pieces. ... I stopped purchasing from Western developers a while back. Now, I only buy from Eastern companies such as Nintendo, Capcom, FromSoftware, Atlus, and others. Hell, even Chinese and Korean developers, who once made soulless games resembling mobile ads are now creating very impressive titles. Remember, vote with your wallet!
Just got the game and coz Im souls gamer I thought that hardest difficulty should be hard enough for my taste. So yeah I can relate to being surprised if I dont die after two hits lol.
I really hope they release patch 4.05 sometime this year. Its been a year since 4.04, and theirs so much more to add and fix. Personally as a console player I really dont want to get the short end of the stick. Not everyone has 4000 grand for a high end PC to run a game like this.
I really hope that cdpr won't make fully customizable chars in the next witcher. At the least, make it like in CP77. Story is sooo damn important for their games and it is just impossible to make a better story with a random char then with a pre established one
I imagine this mod is for PC only 🤔 I just posted a video of me reaching level 100 on the PS5 version and it took over 500 hours and still not done with the game. so much more to do in the game, thanks for the fantastic content as always smashing that like button 👍👍🧑🎄
Ciri can’t be the protagonist in the next Witcher game. I don’t understand why folks are oblivious to this. That would mean cdpr would have to invalidate 2/3 of the Witcher 3’s endings and millions of players choices. Not good. Spoiler: because Ciri can die or become empress which obviously makes her unavailable for the next game.
I'm kinda scared for the next witcher game and the w1 remake, seen cdpr hire some weird people, senior writer included and well... it might end up being very ruined.
After the backlash with the show and how much gritty shit was in cp2077 and the witcher 3, I don't think it'll be as bad as what we've seen. If it is then we riot and eventually they'll cave, they seem to always reverse issues after the cp2077 fiasco and the show.
@@James-u1y Their reputation took a massive hit, cdpr was always bad at managing their team and ending up in crunching. Cp2077 is forever going to be a meme even though it's fixed and brilliant now. Story writting and crafting is the best thing they have so if you add DEI hires that ruin that, witcher is definitely in trouble.
So, As far as I am awar, CDPR can no longer use Geralt due to them not being able to use any of the books to base the game on. The author already tried to finagle a little more money which then cont promptly shut down by the Judge. But in the agreement with the author, it stated CDPR can only use up to 3 books to make the game, these books had Geralt as the main character. But, The Witcher, the game, is CDPR's IP. so they are still allowed to make a game in the same Universe, based on the same lore. Just no longer Geralts journey. Which is likely also why they pivoted to a completely different school, A story about the return of Geralts school would have been amazing, but that would be too close to the books probably so another school it is. BUt that is about all I heard of it and I have no way to validat this then to google. so take this with a pinch of salt
CDPR and Sapkowski reached an out-of-court agreement. CDPR can use the IP for games (video, board, card, p&p, and related merchandise). Sapkowski got more money and kept the IP for books, movies, and TV. The cause of the lawsuit lies in a querk of Polish law. Whereas in most (Western) countries, contracts about IP licensing are final, there is a loophole in Polish law. If the compensation is far off because the product of the licensed IP was much more successful than expected the IP holder is entitled to a higher (adequate) compensation. Considering the millions CDPR made with their games and Sapkowski only got 10k this was more than reasonable. On the other hand, CDPR offered Sapkowski royalties from the beginning but he insisted on the lump sum, so CDPR was a little bit annoyed by the author's demand. But the people in the management of CDPR love the books and are grateful for the success they've had with the IP, so they negotiated for an amicable solution for all involved parties and reached it. Press release by CDPR: CD PROJEKT S.A. Solidifies Relationship with Witcher Books Author Andrzej Sapkowski December 20, 2019 CD PROJEKT, creators of “The Witcher” series of games and upcoming role-playing game “Cyberpunk 2077”, together with Andrzej Sapkowski, author of “The Witcher” books, would like to inform that today both parties signed an agreement further solidifying their relationship. “We’ve always admired Mr. Andrzej Sapkowski’s works - a great inspiration for the team here at CD PROJEKT RED,” says Adam Kiciński, President and Joint CEO, CD PROJEKT. “I believe today marks a new stage in our continued relationship,” Kiciński concludes. The agreement satisfies and fully clarifies the needs and expectations of both parties, past and present, and sets out a framework for the future cooperation between the two sides. The agreement grants CD PROJEKT new rights, as well as confirms the company’s title to “The Witcher” intellectual property in video games, graphic novels, board games, and merchandise.
Yes, it's been nine years since this game was released and that's already a long enough wait for a new fix. I just want to remark on your comment on the graphics at about 9:37... I think it's about time we stop talking about next-gen game experiences as primarily a question of graphics. We know that developers spend far too much time with how a game looks and thus too little with every other aspect of the game. Graphics used to be a major selling point but I think many people agree that now we have reached a point when most games look so good that graphics are no longer a significant distinction between titles. Developers and reviewers alike should put gameplay front and center in my humble opinion.
What if they used ai to adjust the voice to fit your character. I know it is scary to go that way, but these games necessitates some shortcuts in the character customization somehow.

Actually brought this game last night..how strange lol
Bro, you are so lucky to get to play this masterpiece for the first time. Enjoy!
Ngl, this would be a dope Witcher game CD Projekt Red could make. I'd definitely play this.
I would absolutely LOVE a Witcher RPG with a character creator!!! Def need to check out that mod soon
I still wish we get Geralt in The Witcher 4. Yeah its pretty much confirmed we can't play him but a man can dream.... The characters were the most memorable from The Witcher 3 for me.
Geralt is the GOAT. No one will ever top him
They'll at the very least bring him back in some offhand mention. He's too popular to just forget.
@@Jenna_Talia Yeah that'll definitely happen and most people will probably shed a tear when it happens.
@@martiananomalyhey man don't worry too much, we still have The Witcher 1 remake coming that will be similar in design to what CDPR does now!
Just finished another playthrough on my ps5 ... this game always manages to blow me away ❤
Funny enough, I played Witcher 3 in it's intirety once as Morvran Voorhis, Imperor of Nilfgaard. Made possible by a similar mod called "doppelganger...something."
Hey Luke it seems like you love replaying games to see if they still hold up/ if they fixed or improved upon
I recommend checking out the latest no man's sky update which overhauled almost everything from planets and graphics to gameplay changes 🙂
I hope we can create our own character in The Witcher 4!
No wtf 😂
Or make a new witcher character or maybe play as young vesimir even
Yes, W4 needs character creation for sure!
@@xx_HI_xx7 Yes!
4:48 - Finally can play as Philippa Eilhart with eyes
Wow great showcase, guy's just riding around
I would like to Play As Letho in Witcher 4 game , CDPR need to expand LETHOS story
Do they? He’s the last living Viper school member I’m pretty sure. There’s not much of a base if he tried to fulfill his dream of reviving his school
Oc, playing as Ciri would also be a great option.
luke bro where are the handheld videos, i feel like this video was a big missed opportunity. the witcher 3 on the steam deck is perfection
Not the best way to play it or mod it. Steam deck is great though
@@Gerlaffy name a better handheld that can out preform the situation

Nothing but a sweet and cozy day at the island and watching Luke Stephens content! Good work sir💪
This comment section is really bad lol, like twitter mixed with 4chan and truth social.
Hopefully things kind of lighten up over time :/
GOMG i love mods and the community thank youuu, time go to back in the witcher 3
They already showed the new game's medallion is some kind of a cat. And the School of the Cat is the only one known to train women, after they went AWOL. So would also give a fully lore friendly basis for full character customization.
Do you know who is also a women? Someone very important to the Witcher series and apparently she got a Witcher sword
It was a lynx and CDPR confirmed it. But there isn't a Lynx school...
@@martiananomaly the game is likely set in the future, I say
Wow redkit truly is capable of doing the crazy stuff
This is weird. On one hand it's awesome to be able to do this in such a great/somewhat older game. On the other, it's your boy Geralt.
I don't have any info on that, but I actually think (and I could bet some money on it) that the new Witcher will come out in 2026 for current gen, and then in 2028 they will release a next gen version. That's just a smart way to do it.
they won't make new playable Witcher in just 2 years. we will get remake of 1st one and even that might be a fool's wish
Luke can't contain his excitement for the Witcher 4 😅
The potion DOESNT show up in my inventory despite following guide
They should honestly just repeat what they did with cyberpunk and make a v like protagonist again. Enough established lore to help guide the story but still enough room for you to let you make V your own.
Giving me an excuse to play the Witcher 3 for the first time. About to cook in that character creator so hard
Therell be the Witcher 1 Remake before the next game ^^
Actually, there was a female voice mod included. But it was taken down.
You're commiting sacrilege by defiling the Witcher 3 with a 'character creator' but since it's still the Witcher 3? I'm here for it!
I think W3 should have gotten more DLCs, especially one that would give us more witcher simulation tools. New tracking quests, secrets, and random things around the world.
A DLC in Ofir/Zerrikania would be nice
I am definitely going to try out this mod! For me, Witcher 3 is hands down, one of the best games ever made! The story, the characters, the entire world is fascinating. I have high hopes for the Witcher 4 game, but I also am sceptical that the studio(and modern day writers) will be able to make anything to even comes close to the experience of its predecessor. They may not be as bad as Disney's writers, but that has become a very, very low bar!😂
about time! Looks awesome
this is all i wanted for the witcher!!!!!!!!!! :,DDDDDDDDDD
well that and stealth mechanics but yeah
All the talents who made Witcher 3 are gone from CDPR so i don't really care for whatever bugs they sell me in 4.
Hope we get a character creator in The Witcher 4
I love when people say "It's called The Witcher, where is the Witcher", like dude, never ever read the books because you will be reading 200 pages without a mention of Geralt lol
Question: I just recently got grandmaster ursine armor and the chest plate is level 270 but others that I've watched play the game they seem to have the same armor at a higher level or sometimes lower, what determines that? and can I level up my armor? and this goes for all the armor pieces. ... I'm level 53 btw ..
guess I'll never know
The next Witcher game senior writer will be an ex sweet baby writer, so don’t expect much storytelling wise
That doesn´t mean anything, besides she´s on Orion- Cyberpunk sequel. Witcher is pretty much written, they don´t need new writters.
@@CZJames20 you can say the same about the Witcher show, but you know how that ended.
@@CZJames20 at this point it's a huge red flag.
@@xx_HI_xx7 My red flags will be up when I notice the writting and characters are shit in the next CDPR game, nothing else I really care about.
Well, i've been playing witcher 3 again since the start of July..you know why now.
Just got the game and coz Im souls gamer I thought that hardest difficulty should be hard enough for my taste. So yeah I can relate to being surprised if I dont die after two hits lol.
Wrecking everything with Anna Henrietta is gonna be FUUUUN !! Muhahahahaa or Yennefer or Triss or Ciri :D
PS 6 will be released in 2030 roughly and the next Witcher game 2027
I really hope they release patch 4.05 sometime this year. Its been a year since 4.04, and theirs so much more to add and fix. Personally as a console player I really dont want to get the short end of the stick. Not everyone has 4000 grand for a high end PC to run a game like this.
July is empty, cmon man lots of good indie games in this month
Witcher eithout geralt Sounds like Netflix
It's gonna be like Fallout 76😂
its cool, but all the quests and dialogue still reference you as geralt so what's the point?
I really hope that cdpr won't make fully customizable chars in the next witcher. At the least, make it like in CP77. Story is sooo damn important for their games and it is just impossible to make a better story with a random char then with a pre established one
I'm absolutely downloading this
I imagine this mod is for PC only 🤔 I just posted a video of me reaching level 100 on the PS5 version and it took over 500 hours and still not done with the game. so much more to do in the game, thanks for the fantastic content as always smashing that like button 👍👍🧑🎄
Where is the Baldurs Gate 3 critique? is it still in the works or did you drop it?
oh yeah sure, something that console will never have....
let's hope someone will bring back cut content
Ciri can’t be the protagonist in the next Witcher game. I don’t understand why folks are oblivious to this.
That would mean cdpr would have to invalidate 2/3 of the Witcher 3’s endings and millions of players choices.
Not good.
Spoiler: because Ciri can die or become empress which obviously makes her unavailable for the next game.
Just sharing, I just bought The Witcher 3 a few days ago during a cheap sale on Steam. I want to download it, it's just...my internet is very slow!! 😭
witcher without geralt is not witcher for me
I'm kinda scared for the next witcher game and the w1 remake, seen cdpr hire some weird people, senior writer included and well... it might end up being very ruined.
Press release by CDPR:
CD PROJEKT S.A. Solidifies Relationship with Witcher Books Author Andrzej Sapkowski
December 20, 2019
CD PROJEKT, creators of “The Witcher” series of games and upcoming role-playing game “Cyberpunk 2077”, together with Andrzej Sapkowski, author of “The Witcher” books, would like to inform that today both parties signed an agreement further solidifying their relationship.

Sir, can we have one for Star Wars Outlaws to?
Witcher 4 will surpass Elden Ring, just wait
