Great collection of clips! My great uncle was Al Duffy. My family noticed him and many of his brothers throughout the clips. All I have are pictures of them so it was great to see them walking around as they were back then.
I’m so glad that you were able to view them. Those old films we’re getting kind of brittle so I was glad that they were good enough to make digital copies. Incidentally, Al Duffy was my mother’s godfather.
I got to see my grandmother Julia Johnston, and 2 of my 4 uncles Web and Ollie Johnston. Spent much of my childhood there in the 50s. Thank you so much for this post.
The population of McKeesport peaked at around 55,000 in 1940 to around 17,000 in the last 2020 census.Much more safer and vibrant times then in McKeesport.
That old comedian Marty Allen always used to mention McKeesport in his bit. EAST McKeesport if I remember correctly. I lived in Irwin when I was very young
The 3rd word is the section of mckeesport that is on the hill that faces port vue, it is the most abandoned and demolished section in the entirety of mckeesport

I live in this city now. This is very cool to see. I live about 20 blocks at the closest to where this was shot.
Amazing. Thank you for posting

Weird seeing an active 3rd ward, considering that 90% of homes in it have been demolished and 7% are abandoned
So nice seeing this born and raised in 3rd. Ward.
Wonderful old film. I enjoyed watching the video.
Where is Third Ward? McKeesport looked a little different when I grew up there.
Was wondering the same the only ward I know is 10th
