I'm from this area. Pretty much all of western PA can look like this. It isn't that scary once you realize that the people that once inhabited these buildings left decades ago and these buildings have decayed as a result. It is a lot less of being in a haunted town and more like being in archaeological site.
I grew up less than 10 miles from here. It's been pretty awful once the steel industry vacated the area from the 70s through the 80s'. I can remember scores of dads from my neighborhoods being laid off over the years. The town of McKeesport then shrunk into its own horrible abyss of neglect and decay. It's not unusual to see the streets this deserted at night. Honestly, when you drive through there after hours, it's better to run the risk of getting a ticket by running red lights than actually obeying the law and stop at them. I am not kidding. This route was often a quicker way to get from downtown Pittsburgh to the east residential suburban neighborhoods. If you came this way after the bars closed at 2:00 AM, you never stopped in McKeesport. Ever.
So many people feel blatantly surprised by how quiet it is. That's just how it is in small towns. Heck, I live in a small town in Brazil, and that's just how it is after like 10pm. Everyone is inside getting ready to finish their day and get some sleep. After midnight, there will be simply no one walking the streets in downtown neighborhoods. It's actually amazing how people are so surprised by this. Just, lol.
As someone from another country, I always find it fascinating wheen looking at the contrast between these rundown neighborhoods and the nice, fairly modern cars. In other countries, there's a more notable congruence between people's homes and their cars.
I’m a home inspector in the Pittsburgh area. I do agree seeing McKees Rocks pop up on my schedule does always make me wary. However, I do a lot of these old houses that provided steel mill families a good home over the years. The stories I bet they could tell. Sad to see most of them collapsing in on themselves now.
One of the most jarring things as a pittsburgh native is how you can go from the "new growth" of modern buildings built post collapse and lively neighborhoods only to see entire streets abandoned from the bad old days that never recovered. Everything from how big our airport is compared to the actual size of the city to the actual layout of the city suggests that the population capacity should be much higher than it currently is. It went from over a million people living here to only 300,000 and it still shows.
The fact most of the roads are still brick/cobblestone shows the town has been hard on its luck for a while. Though I'm surprised a decent amount of people still live there judging by the cars parked on the road.
Born and raised on one of the streets you passed by within the first minute. Family is still there and I visit bout 2-3 times a year. Still proud to call it my hometown.
I finally spotted someone walking into the gas station store at around 6:30. Look to the left. Car parked at the pump and someone in like a white shirt and jeans walking.
In the 1960's when I lived in Pittsburgh, I use to visit relatives in McKeesport and Duquesne. They were housing for steel mill workers and other blue collar jobs. Now they are a gone by era, and decaying history.
I worked at a recording studio in McKeesport almost 10 years ago. We had some sketchy moments every now and then. It's crazy to see how much more deserted and deteriorated the city has become.
It makes me anxious you going in such bad areas after dark. No matter how bad the area there are always nice vehicles! Seems people in town know something you didn't - don't go out after dark. NO traffic at all!
I've never been to the states, but this looks much creepier than any of the villages I have visited in India, and some of them were bad. The poor streetlights, the abandoned shacks, the unpaved roads all give off a rural and primal vibe. I am kind of amazed in a way
Yowza! Some Hollywood location scout should see the opening minute-and-a-half of this. Looks like it’d be perfect for a horror film! 😮 Also loved the downtown - especially that “Daily News” sign and building. What a classic old sign! 😊
I live in south africa. Areas like this are fairly common in most towns. I think alot of people here forget that even "great countries" like USA can't escape these kind of derelict living situations. They use harsh words about our country but need to realize that there are challenges everywhere. This area is not too terrible
That brick/cobblestone alley in the beginning was nuts. Super technical engineering. I bet that whole town has it but long since covered up by tar and concrete
It’s strange how familiar and normal this feels as someone from Western PA. Seeing the Pgh skyline in the distance from the hills-man, how often I’ve been there. Strange and beautiful and cursed place.
Honestly I think it's beautiful. Maybe it looks different during the day. And no doubt it's unsafe but it has a certain haunting melancholy charm that I really like.
this makes me… intensely sad for some reason. my dad (RIP) grew up in collinwood out here near cleveland and he took us around his neighborhood when i was about 13. i’m 25 now and i can only imagine what it looks like.
There were way more cars parked at the first street in the video than I expected, that place felt like it was filmed for a horror. Looks very interesting though, love to see it. It all looks so different from where I live.
I lived in a small town about 20 minutes drives from there called Charleroi back in the 70s, reminds me a lot of this town. Thanks for the drive and video.
I used to work in downtown McKeesport where G. C.. Murphy Headquarters is located; it was bad in the 1980's. It's really bad now...sadly, it used to be a great town many years ago.
These roads are way better than average neighborhoods in Brazil. Come here to see what is a creepy street. You would know that an empty street is better than a strange soul in a middle of nowhere.
Crikey, this looks nearly identical to all those horror video games I like to play. Only thing missing are the zombies. It's really weird not seeing ANYONE on the streets at night.
This is fascinating. It's like we're right there in the car with you. It kind of makes me want to go and see what it looks like in daylight. Very interesting. 👍
I looked the town up on Redfin and you can buy an entire bar, complete with arcade games and four rental units above, for $890k. Not a single house for sale priced above $100k. Some of them were as cheap as $13k.
I lived in a town similar to Mckeesport in Pittsburgh growing up, it was awesome looking back. There were so many adventures to be had in your own neighborhood.
Really sad to see all that decay. I see a lot of older buildings and neighborhoods that would be so beautiful with some TLC. It is impossible to see this, and not see that all this decay of our cities and communities is all by design.
What’s up, my man! I remember when you had under 100 subscribers! I’m really proud of you! You put in the work, and got an amazing number of subscribers, congratulations! Keep going!! Greetings from Arizona! Steve.
So glad to hear from you Steve! I remember all the early subscribers. Hope your channel is doing good, theres a lot of ups and downs to this stuff but gotta keep chugging away lol
This is incredibly sad to see I lived glass port in the 1980s and used to come to mckeesport on occasions. I'm from England. I remember all the steel mills closing around these areas and all the devastating results of this 😢
What the hell is up with this place? No one around! There's some pretty bad places here in the UK, but even at 3.00 a.m. there is someone lurking around. Not sure which is worse - totally deserted streets, or the occasional low life prowling around and up to no good.
I run a supply yard in North Versailles down the road. The only time I’ve ever had to cancel a delivery was to a section of McKeesport that looked similar to the opening footage. Steep, eroding one way streets and no signage. Couldn’t get my delivery truck to the customer’s house and didn’t want to risk driving around lost. I’ll go almost anywhere but I refuse to deliver to that particular neighborhood in McKeesport.
first 30 seconds felt like a resident evil town.

Are these abandoned homes public housing?
So, it's mostly unihibited ?
Or both! You never know
I'm from Philly and I heard that lots of areas in PA are haunted especially Reading, PA
True, as a lifelong Pittsburgh resident, we still don't go to McKessport though.
Literally no one is out, no people, no traffic, nothing! Kind of freaky!

Born and raised in McKeesport, its sad but nothing in life stays the same, at least I have my memories of how it used to be.
Me too! So sad
I grew up in McKeesport, too. I told my family there wasn't a reason to go into Pittsburgh bc we had everything we needed.
How, how did it used to be?
How was it, back in the day?
This is more depressing than it is scary
Creepy as all get out and not a soul to be seen. What lurks in the darkness that keeps people locked in their homes?

Something enchanting about the decay. The lights in the distance too.

Thanks for the tour of my hometown! Haven’t been back in decades, looks like I’m not missing much.
If you showed 0:53 to someone in 1954 and told them it was Pennsylvania they would assume we lost a bad war at some point
Wow, that downtown is giving off Walking Dead vibes. Great video!!
Thanks for watching!
New Fallout looks great.
Couldn't find anything on the streets???
Not even an exhausted ghost, returning home after an extra shift of haunting activities?
The first sequence is beautifully eerie. Great video work.
Thanks so much for watching!

Drunk and tired. This is the perfect entertainment for me. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Same here
aww
Can confirm this is PA due to the roads.
I'm more terrified for your tires....those roads are horrendous driving on them
Reminds me alot of East Cleveland. Both were once booming, rich suburbs. Then the steel mills went away and the cities have been decaying ever since 😢
I have East Cleveland on the channel, and another special one coming up for it very soon!
I finally spotted someone walking into the gas station store at around 6:30. Look to the left. Car parked at the pump and someone in like a white shirt and jeans walking.
bien vu !
That’s a ghost.
Also the guy chilling on the porch at 2:00 in.
It was a ghost really
As someone from Eastern PA, sometimes western PA feels like another world.
In the 1960's when I lived in Pittsburgh, I use to visit relatives in McKeesport and Duquesne. They were housing for steel mill workers and other blue collar jobs. Now they are a gone by era, and decaying history.
"Bye Gone" era is how I was told.
I was waiting for Zombies to run out in front of the car! 😂
It's not what you see that's scary....it's what you can't see that's scary.
I worked at a recording studio in McKeesport almost 10 years ago. We had some sketchy moments every now and then. It's crazy to see how much more deserted and deteriorated the city has become.

That’s the hood for you terrible falling apart homes with lambos and Bentleys parked outside
I've never been to the states, but this looks much creepier than any of the villages I have visited in India, and some of them were bad. The poor streetlights, the abandoned shacks, the unpaved roads all give off a rural and primal vibe. I am kind of amazed in a way

It would be great for a movie!
If walls could talk. I love driving in other towns looking at old structure homes and buildings. Like history stood still. Great vid😸
Dude, this is the haunted ghetto
I live in south africa. Areas like this are fairly common in most towns. I think alot of people here forget that even "great countries" like USA can't escape these kind of derelict living situations. They use harsh words about our country but need to realize that there are challenges everywhere. This area is not too terrible
Those opening street shots are some of the worst I've ever seen! Looked like a bombed out war zone. Wild. Thanks for bringing us along for the ride!
That brick/cobblestone alley in the beginning was nuts. Super technical engineering. I bet that whole town has it but long since covered up by tar and concrete
Silent hill???
It’s strange how familiar and normal this feels as someone from Western PA. Seeing the Pgh skyline in the distance from the hills-man, how often I’ve been there. Strange and beautiful and cursed place.
I try to stay away from McKeesport when doing Uber, but sometimes I still end up there at night.
Not far from me. I’ve driven through here many times to take photos of all the abandoned homes. Very sketchy! Thanks for the video.
Thanks so much for watching!
Honestly I think it's beautiful. Maybe it looks different during the day. And no doubt it's unsafe but it has a certain haunting melancholy charm that I really like.

Watching this here in the Uk We have some spooky creepy places here but you must be crazy driving through some of those towns. Keep safe 👍
Used to be good bars there. Watching the coasters lights at Kennywood there across the river always made it a bit surreal.
Curious to know what time of night this is. This is one lonesome town😢
Great channel! I wish you would post what time it is as you’re driving around. Are we looking at 10pm or 4am? Thanks!
So sad that this was originally such a rich town. 😢
I have a friend that lives here. He does pretty good for himself, but I now understand his comments about the place. Life is what you make of it.
There were way more cars parked at the first street in the video than I expected, that place felt like it was filmed for a horror. Looks very interesting though, love to see it. It all looks so different from where I live.
Omg my old house at 0:48! Love McKeesport!!!
1:08 actually looks kind of beautiful like a scenic view of a small town lit up at night
I feel so nostalgic thinking about how people used to be happy and brought life to so many towns across America. Places like McKeesport, PA.
The decline over the past 20 years or so is just tragic.
I've never seen such a contrast between the condition of the cars versus the buildings
Everyone is hunkered down for the night, too dangerous to go out!
That was awesome. I love videos like these. It helps to calm me before bed.
Awesome! Thank you!
These roads are way better than average neighborhoods in Brazil. Come here to see what is a creepy street. You would know that an empty street is better than a strange soul in a middle of nowhere.
Pior que é mesmo, um monte de ruas aqui todas remendadas, fica horrível esteticamente falando
A lot of towns in Brazil are like this. Locals will downright refuse to go outside at night.
It is past 3 a.m. Not too many people would be out at that time.
After a minute, I started playing the 'Silent Hill' soundtrack in another tab ,and that gives this proper vibes.
Absolutely nothing going on in that town. And what I mean by that is I noticed most of the storefronts if not all are abandoned.
I love these old towns, its like time is standing still. No activity, no noise, strange but peaceful...
I live in a smaller town than this, but even at 2-3am there are still many people and cars on the road.
So sad. We drove through it many times in the late 60's early 70's. It was a nice town.
So weird that there appear to be nice cars parked in front of those dilapidated houses
New Silent Hill looks promising 🤩
Wow, some of those streets are jacked?! Reminds me of Escape From New York.
Crikey, this looks nearly identical to all those horror video games I like to play. Only thing missing are the zombies. It's really weird not seeing ANYONE on the streets at night.
I'm surprised at the lack of people; that, and how bright some of the areas are. It must help with crime.
It’s much darker than that in person. The camera brightens it up a lot
This is fascinating. It's like we're right there in the car with you. It kind of makes me want to go and see what it looks like in daylight. Very interesting. 👍
I have daytime uploaded on the channel check them out thanks!
Love your channel so juch. One of my favorites from Brazil 🌴
Thank you so much for watching!

Very amazing footage young man
Thank you very much for watching
i am thinking about the time when this was in its prime, with happy people settling in in their new homes
I grew up in North Versailles, left there in 1980.
So sad to see the surrounding areas look like this now.
Brave man, props for documenting this
Best place for driving learning
Crazy to think that these places use to be busling places with kids and familys playing and living in them. Pretty sad.
I sure learned how to appreciate my city after watching this.
Same for miles here in small town Connecticut. Not always dangerous, just can be lonely and depressing. Stay safe and care for your family and friends
This is the most realistic let's play. Scared me good.
This is incredibly sad to see I lived glass port in the 1980s and used to come to mckeesport on occasions. I'm from England. I remember all the steel mills closing around these areas and all the devastating results of this 😢
This is oddly kind of attractive.
Hi, what camera you are using? Super nice quality!
What the hell is up with this place? No one around! There's some pretty bad places here in the UK, but even at 3.00 a.m. there is someone lurking around. Not sure which is worse - totally deserted streets, or the occasional low life prowling around and up to no good.
Something so surreal yet soothing about this vibe.. this what dreams feel like
Night of the living Dead was filmed near McKeesport -- A movie about Zombies..
I can see myself going for midnight walks over there. This is the type of location I'm used to and I like. The place I live in is no better
I run a supply yard in North Versailles down the road. The only time I’ve ever had to cancel a delivery was to a section of McKeesport that looked similar to the opening footage. I’ll go almost anywhere but I refuse to deliver to that particular neighborhood in McKeesport.
Honestly kind of nostalgic for me. I’m from Northeastern PA - happy to have moved onto greener pastures but this video is still oddly comforting.
Very cool camera and video quality! I really appreciate this beautiful shot! ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much for watching
Good lord the first bit is like a post apocalyptic film
