Not just fitting, I lost my composure at that.
It’s also funny that Fox says it at the end.

Hey, I was hoping you'd get around to checking this out! Hour long stream seems about right for this since it's not like too much can happen in a game like this.
Fun fact, there is a Star Fox 64 decompilation effort happening at the moment and it is getting REALLY close to completion. So, we'll hopefully start seeing more mods like this coming up soon!

seeing star fox 64 again really makes me wish we would get a Star Fox Prequel. I would LOVE to see Peppy in his prime, James's death, and even Pigma's betrayal.

You should check out the 2nd episode of "A Fox in Space". It serves as a prequel to Star Fox 64, and you see Pigma's betrayal.

i think its cool we are suddenly seeing Starfox 64 have romhack stuff after decades of just nothing at all.
like holy shit, there has just literally been nothing until this month it feels. first i saw a "super charged" mod
and now we have a randomizer too.
It's like we're in a N64 renaissance. Romhacks, decomps, recomps, ports, randomizers, speedruns, and all the stuff we dreamed about as kids. Full-fledged custom story modes for SM64, Custom OOT dungeons, a "Master Quest" mode for Paper Mario, and now, actual mods for SF64!
I think we now have a generation of amateur and professional programmers who grew up on these games and are now able to work on these sorts of things as "passion projects" in their free time, just as previous generations did (and continue to do) with 8 and 16-bit console games.

What handheld would you recommend for playing N64 games/hacks on the go?

Switch does a decent job with N64 games too, especially if you can inject them into the NSO app
Finally, a game i know well enough to appreciate a Randomizer.
I like how slippy fecking dies, team says they'll go look for him, so they go back to same level. Couldn't dang find him, so they cut their losses and then got high. Afterwards Slippy is gone for iirc the entire rest of the game, shows up at venom

I love this game, this hack was the funniest thing I've seen in the last few months, it did the right job of mixing up the dialogues.
that intro dialogue on the first level was priceless. actually could have been lines in the game

I recommend Whisker Squadron: Survivor. It doesn't have the same weightiness when it comes to feedback, but it's a really good time for Star Fox fans!
I love Whisker Squadron but it's really more a random/roguelite shooter first with some starfox elements, an indie game that's more directly "starfox-ish" I'd say is Ex-Zodiac (though it has other stuff like pretty obvious space harrier levels, etc)
He already played that in a previous stream.

The robot legs thing is a myth. They're just metal boots.
While the robot legs thing was conclusively disavowed and debunked by Nintendo representatives, the early Star Fox artwork which spawned the fan theory clearly depicts mechanical legs. We can chalk that one up to "artistic license".
It's still a pretty rad theory though, if you ask me.
