Incredible how it sounds so peaceful and menacing at the same time
right? it sounds very ambient and thematic but also ominous and negative. its beautiful, but a storm is coming. I feel like the first 40 or so seconds really convey that vibe. this could be a festival song or a war march.
Es un comentario muy acertado

Favourite track in the game, absolutely amazing!!
I agree
I always found myself humming this song whenever I thought of or playing Civ 6
Check out this mesmerizing version: ruclips.net/video/OQbjy4k7ch8/видео.html
Sounds ancient yet Arabic. What a fusion!
The funny thing is the song's title. El Helwa Di means this beautiful one. never thought Civ could flirt lol
That's because it is Arabic. No one actually knows what the Ancient Egyptian music was like.
@X6 64 I can't really confirm that. No one knows what Ancient Egyptian music was like. But what I can tell you that this piece, is typical for Arabic music, and while Turkish music does give its influence. Arabic music is actually Persian in origin with tweaks made to fit the Arabic language. Turkish music is also based on tweaked Persian music. Can ancient Egyptian music have an influence in Egyptian music? Or even in Arabic and Persian? Perhaps. All I can say is that in the Arab world Egyptian music is very popular. It wouldn't have been as popular if it wasn't relatable for the Arab ears.
@@maths.solved6215 Wait, I can't believe it took me 10 months to realize El Hilwa Di ( This beautiful one ) refers to Cleopatra lmao.
@@blakops000007 but it fits. I mean when i hear this song and close my eyes i see myself in ancient egypt within a beautiful white long habesha dress with golden and colourful stitches and beads on it and on my hair/head, golden bracelets
it is an Egyptian song called El Helwa di composed by great musician called Sayyed Darwish in the early years of 20th century
You may notice, the title says “El Helwa di”
@@sineadthomas2024 but many ppl know nothing about the musician who should have been acknowledged or reffered to.
Mimo Limo Yeah, that’s fair
I composed this music man, stop saying that Sayyed composed it...
@@nafetscivoktalz1172 No i composed it,big gay stop lie now
Too bad I won’t ever hear this theme in my current game as Egypt is stuck in the classical era with 1 city left
How bad can someone be? 😂
Phrygian dominant
Spongebob in Egypt brought me here. I've been searching for this tune for months. Praise Shazam
if only this studio could have found a vocalist for this piece...it is such an amazing piece

We’re defeating the Crusaders with this one! 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It sounds really sassy and I love it
This is the best civ 6 music
This sounds Al-Andalus music.
How, 80% of Arab Maqams are of Persian origin lol.
@@blakops000007 Persian music evolved after it was borrowed. Simple.
They all use the same progression which I believe it's called Maqam Hijaz, if I'm not mistaken.
Because the Arabics conquered al andulas and left their history and their music, eventually influencing spanish music too to make flamenco

Guess what Ethiopia has arrived to civ
At beginning I thought it was civ5 ottoman theme and I thought I was blind
Remind me about Serious Sam
Feeling like Phalao and Pyramids.
Maybe, just maybe the fact that it's an Egyptian song nonetheless is why he likes to imagine the pyramids.
Younisab tod Thank you, I've searched El Helwa Di.😄
But when I play Civ as Egypt, I'm always a pharaoh.
@@mohamedkamal6671 it's clearly an Egyptian song and was done by an Egyptian artist. Egyptians were one of the first inventors of music so how can you say it's not 😂
this woud sound reLLY good as electronic music. My teacher wants us to remix a song so ima choose this !!!
It really sounds like Al Andalus music.
It's a bit unfortunate that they had to put Arabic music for this, since no one really knows what ancient egyptian music sounded like.
People forget that in the time of Julius Caesar, the pyramids were already as old as ancient Rome is to us now.
People usually say Cleopatra is nearer to us on a timeline than to the pyramids of Gizeh, that‘s a great illustration in my opinion
Best medical song in the game other than Russia and Brazil

this music is so.... Greek.
Any modern native Egyptians care to share their thoughts on the inclusion of their country in Civ 6? I'm endlessly curious!
Most egyptians are arabic. The ptolemies are what's depicted in game, basically. Finding someone tied to ancient egypt would be as hard as finding an assyrian.
@@reecebertrand1816 I understood that which is why I was especially curious about this one.
@@reecebertrand1816 Egyptians aren't arabic who tf told you this stupidity. Assyrians do exist m8.
@@guardiansing6572 don't listen to idiots who do not know anything about Egyptian history and assume we are arabs because of religion or language which is absurd. Im Egyptian and ofcourse I'm proud of the representation here but it's not wierd for the mother of civilisation to be in a game based on civilisation lol
@@Heo_Ashrafenko bruh religion and language are only half of it. Majority Egyptian ethnicity IS ARABIC
Sounds really nice but i wish he didnt put the hurdy gurdy in EVERY SINGLE MEDIEVAL TRACK
The hurdy gurdy reigns supreme
teacher:we are going to Egypt
girls:ooh the pyramids
boys:(music playing)
sounds like Ottomans
Why is it that the one queen/pharaoh of Egypt they show is the only white one in the entire existence of the great Egyptian empire. All the Egyptians were black, until the the most recent dynasties, of Tutankhamen and Cleopatra, when there started to be a mix of races coming from places like Greece, Persia, Macedonia, and other civilizations around the Mediterranean. How typical of them to whitewash Egypt again.
paxon droubli Nah
leviathonIx Nah? Yeah you can say that shit all day and night dude, but that's because you don't know the fucking truth. It's blatantly obvious the ethnicity of the Ancient Egyptians. Literally you don't even have to do extensive research, it's right there in your face. The Egyptians depicted themselves with dark skin, kinky or shaved heads, and round/flat noses. That's literally the definition of a black person and/or mixed person. scholars from ancient Greece and modern British, french and even Spanish scholars and professionals in Egyptology, have openly said that the ethnicity of the ancient Egyptians were negro in origin or, Ethiopian/African, originating from sub-Saharan Africa, and more southbound territories like Nubia (present day Sudan). Get your facts right before you say stupid shit in such a flippant and careless a manner. If I told you that those who built viking long ships, and conquered Iceland, and other areas with vigor and effectiveness, and held those areas with an iron fist, were of African ethnic origin, You'd be pissed off too. Because it's so blatantly obvious that they were not.
whoa whoa calm down.....
The real question is though, why didn't they just use Hatshepsut?
Egyptians were not black, they made a clear distinction in their art between themselves and the Kushite peoples of the south. Here is some art showing Ramesses II in battle against Nubians: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a5/Ramses_II_charging_Nubians.jpg
DNA testing has shown that the average Egyptian has a similar racial makeup to their ancestors, with more subsaharan admixture in modern times.
Although, the 25th dynasty of Egypt that ruled for around a 100 years were of Kushite origin after a Nubian invasion of Egypt, so there were in fact black Pharaohs in Egypt for a short period of time
Conramagne in the link u gave, it can be clearly seen that within the ranks of fleeing nubians there are people with the same complexion as the Pharoah ramses II. Saying that they are white or Arab. Makes no sense whatsoever. Read accounts of actual ancient Greek historians and see for yourself what the ancient geeks saw with their own eyes. I'd start with the writings of herodetous.
