    Love most of the changes they made the biggest problem is the amount of time we have to wait till season 2

    My biggest issue with season 1 is something I noticed on rewatch…Aang is on his own for most of the season. Thats why chemistry seems off between him and Katara. Hopefully in season 2 we get more group interactions.
    The romantic element was probably due to the actors age more than anything. Gordon Cormier was 11 during filming.

      Absolutely agree. I would love to get A TON more moments of them as a team, just goofing around and being friends

    This show to me gave me a lesson
    I love it when Aang said”Let go of the past,or I’ll never have a future “Ep 8
    Kinda ties to the Avatar fans before and now.This what I love about this show.Also think about the time we are now in this world
    People tbh don’t wanna accept change causing them to try to burn it down
    Just like they are doing to the show.But Now with S2 and S3 on the way,the view on these people’s minds will realize that the people behind the show loved the original and tried their best to adapt it.I giving this show by my own opinion a 8/10.
    A teen that has never been an original fan of the show,I can say that this is a faithful adaptation,whenever people like it or not.

    About Momo and Appa, I also think they need so much more time, they're part of the main characters after all. But I do think they limit their screen time due to budget limits, I'm pretty sure they have to cut them so they could include the Koizilla at the end episode. But I reeeeeeally hope Netflix give them a bigger budget for season 2 and 3 and we could se more interaction with our boys!! 🙏

    • @JonesVibes
      @JonesVibes  Месяц назад

      Yeah I think you’re absolutely right about the budget with Koizilla. There’s not really anything in season 2 that would be that much of a priority budget wise and so I’m very much hoping for the same. I NEED APPA AND MOMO hahaha

    My biggest issue was the dialogue. For S2 & 3 I want the lines of dialogue to have less exposition and more character. That way the actors can have more opportunity to actually act and not just info dump.

    I agree just like what you said, now that S2&3 are greenlit I hope Netflix capitalize all of the "CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISICMS" to make a much more better S2&3 and completely ignore the unnecessary hate that the show gets that might affect the show just to please them and don't even get me started with all the body-shaming that the actors get on a daily basis especially Elizabeth Yu and Thalia Tran. I just wish it don't affect their performance now that they are getting more screen-time next season and also in their personal life. (Sidenote: Someone even made fun of Gordon's eyebrows like it even matters in the show)
    I will stand by my words and IDC if you will come and make fun of me, this new live-action adaptation has so much potential to be great I have faith in it, it's far from perfect it needs a lot of improvement (acting, story-telling, dialogues, etc.) but it's also not completely terrible like some content creators says.

    • @JonesVibes
      @JonesVibes  Месяц назад +4

      Yeah, I agree. Saying that it’s “terrible” is WILD to me. Obviously, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but to me it is sooooooo far from terrible. I freaking love it. And yeah, as for the body shaming and toxic crap, unfortunately there are just really messed up people out there. I was on American Idol in 2010 and somebody made a Facebook page dedicated to making fun of my eyebrows. The same people doing that then, are still doing it today. People can just be jerks. But that’s why I’m doing what I can to spread positivity about the show! It deserves it and I’m so happy you liked it too!

    I really liked the Sokka that Ian delivered in the series. For me the essence is there, with the necessary adaptations so as not to look strange, considering that not everything in the cartoon works in live-action ❤ Adaptations are like that, it's not identical to the original work... It never is. I agree 100% that the team did not do a good job with the interviews and leaks about the changes. The truth is that there is always a group of people ready to criticize the show not for what it is, but out of pure hate. And that really hurt the show. Fortunately the show was a success ❤❤❤ And the rest of the seasons will be incredible, if they know how to identify mistakes and fix them...
    Personally, I loved season one. ❤

    It's amazing how I agree with everything you say on this matter! I feel they need to work better about the relationship, the friendship between Aang and Katara, so it can become romantic love, and also I need more feeling and growth of friendship in Aang, Katara and Sokka, I need to really feel they are family, they need to spend more time together, solve problems together as a team. I hope we have that in seasson 2. I'm really happy with how good seasson 1 has been, and I'm sure they can do it even better for next seassons.
    Thank you for the video, I'll look for the interview and read it full.

    Hey Jones i actually have some strong feedback and opinions when it comes to sokka's character in the live action sokka in the animated for me was a cocky misunderstood woke genrational bratty teen but also a toxic overprotective brother above else who would make jokes to diffuse the tension of a situation, so when I watched the first episode of the live action I saw a translated well sokka and when I went on he felt toned down a bit but it didn''t bother me until I got to episode 5 where he honestly felt like the least fleshed out character in the last half of the season, it really felt like he his chemistry with every charcter wasn't there it was lost, especially when I rewatch the animated it felt like he was a sokka fanboy who trying to be sokka too much and it didn't feel natural.

    • @JonesVibes
      @JonesVibes  Месяц назад

      Yeah, very interesting here. I can certainly agree with you that there just weren’t enough moments given to him in the tail end of the season to really have it seem like an arc. He’s kind of just there and although I enjoyed the stuff with Yue, it was pretty straight forward and closely adapted. Not much depth there. I’m really hoping that in the future seasons they REALLY expand on him as a character and allow Ian to make it his own. Personally, I’m a big fan of his portrayal in S1 but I can see where you’re coming from. I appreciate the comment!

  • @VeelouC

    I don't think Katara and Aang will get together in this version. The actors are 3 and a half years apart and Albert Kim wasn't comfortable with making the actors act romantically when they were 12 and 15 during filming s1, Kiawentiio will turn 18 this month and Gordon is still 14, it isn't appropriate now either. Plus the double renewal means high chance of filming back to back and in his latest interview the showrunner expressed the aging of the actors a problem to deal with a time jump in season 2. I think they're more concerned with keeping Aang looking small, than making a romance.

    Why was Sokka not allowed to be sexist but Pakku was? I hated how they combined the secret tunnels with omashu and the swamp visions plus Bato of the water tribe. Don’t get me started on Wan shi tang in the spirit world and they did Roku dirty

    • @alexanderloya9022
      @alexanderloya9022 Месяц назад +5

      Let me explain:
      Sokka sexism was misplaced anyway. He grew up in a tribe where most were woman and children. Where or how did he pick up sexism in the first place? Paku on the other hand grew in the ways of the north and the culture influenced him.
      Won Shi Tong was complete fan service as a season 2 was not guaranteed. Just because he is in season 1 doesnt mean they are cutting the Library episode from season 2. The cgi owl look great!
      How did they do Roku dirty? The first few times we see Roku in the animation he is literal exposition. He doesn't become a character until season 3. Even then we get his simplest story

    • @tmac731
      @tmac731 Месяц назад +2

      @@alexanderloya9022 Sokka grew up as the leader of his tribe. He has pressure from his dad to protect his sister. The southern water tribe was very small so Sokka was just raised to be the only fighter, there was no little girls in the kid circle Sokka was talking in the cartoon before Zuko showed up
      Also, Roku exposition was bad ass and very important to the show. “You must defeat the fire lord before the comet arrives” and he had character the moment we saw him. He helped Aang v Fire nation and he put master Jeong Jeong in his place and made him teach fire bending. The live action just gave us a lame conversation that was redundant to what Kyoshi and Kuruk said, avatar gotta do blah blah. Roku had a role and powerful presence in the cartoon, the live action he was just there for fan service
