Houve o lance da final entre BRASIL e CHECOSLOVAQUIA em que garrincha driblou toda a defesa da Checoslováquia um a um, por duas vezes seguidas e quando parou a bola junto a lateral do campo, com toda a defesa adversaria pronta para uma terceira sequencia de dribles; daí toda a torcida presente em Santiago do Chile, cerca de 100 mil pessoas, levantou-se para o aplaudir em pé. Então, Garrincha resolveu não dar nova sequencia de dribles e passou a bola aos companheiros. Desmontou todo o sistema defensivo Checo.

Estou lendo a Estrela Solitária. Garrincha foi muito irresponsável. Acabou morrendo na pobreza. Não era inteligente.

Os times que ele jogou principalmente o Botafogo roubavam muito ele enganavam ele e ele ingênuo humilde que era não prestava tanta atenção humildade do Garrincha era muito grande que ultrapassava às vezes ele tem culpa sim mas não de taxa-lo de irresponsável ele quis viver assim
