    Man I am so glad I bought this amp based on your review! This thing is AWESOME!! (Originally I was looking at tonemaster reverb deluxe and so glad I got this instead for extra $200) The volume, tones, controls, etc., etc. Basically, what you said and then some!! I find myself using top boost paired with my Gretch the most though. I find that the possibilities are endless with this amp, and the best part is I can get rid of about half of my pedals.

    Two things. Why are there so few reviews of quilter products, only JLJ and the other guy Ron I think. Where are the big reviewers, the magazines etc?? Second, JLJ plays great but this just too much whammy bar use and ambient effects to tell the real tone here. A walk through changing each dial one by one would be more useful than just hearing this pro make it sound perfect. It will never sound bad the way it is demoed.

      all of these "gear reviews" that youtube is filled with are just commercials basically. those people all (or most of them) get SOMETHING for making those "reviews". they get free gear or $$ or something. quilter must not be willing to pay people to push thier product for them. which has actually made me even more interested in quilter products lol... i'm probably going to end up buying one of thier amps sometime when i save some $ for another guitar amp. i've recently just shipped off my last tube amp and i dont really think i want another one. i just dont need them and they're a huge pain to package up and ship when you sell them online.

    Love Quilter, love my Micropro HD, was excited about this amp coming out. My only complaint is that it's a huge missed opportunity. I've got a Yamaha THR100hd with dual amp/channels in and out I was hoping to replace with the Quilter. This needs a second power amp with 2 true amps in and out for wet/dry and dual mono use. I'll probably just get an Aviator Cub for a dry side.

      You can use either an ABY switch or a Y cable to plug in to both inputs. Both inputs can be active at the same time by setting SELECT In the middle. Each channel will now top off at 100W so there is room for both within the amp’s 200W power rating.

    Great demo, amp sounds great.
    I'd like to see a dB comparison of those 200 Watts vs 40 Watts of tube amp power such as a Fender HRD 1x12. Just about every non-tube amp has trouble keeping up with a tube amp with stated lower wattage.
    If I find a non-tube amp that sounds as good and as loud as my Engl with E850/100 tube power amp (that's dual 100 watts from 8 6L6GC tubes) I'll buy it.

    • @daddaladda
      @daddaladda 2 года назад +2

      @@daddaladda I'd still like to see a dB comparison. I've yet to find a non-tube amp that has the same dB level with comparable wattage ratings.
      I've got Class-D powered PA cabs stating 1100 Watts; my dual 100 watt tube amp will bury it.
      Maybe Quilter power amps are comparable, that would be great, and I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
      I've been looking for a 2-channel, non-tube combo amp for years, and I have a Vox MVX150C1 on order for months, probably in a container ship off the Cali coast. It's rated at 150 Watts, and if it can keep up with a Vox AC-30, I'd be more than happy with it.
      Cheers!

Like in the realms of Mesa Mark V, Diezel VH-4, Orange Rockerverb MkIII, etc. To me it just sounds like a bunch of amps that go from clean into vintage crunch style overdrive. I have a Mach 3, and you’re right, the drive sounds are horrendous. That’s never been Quilter’s strong suit. However, the clean sounds are superb. Maybe it wasn’t dialed in to your liking in this particular demo, but I can dial my Mach 3 in to sound pretty close to my Princeton Reverb. It also takes dirt pedals really well. So, while it is kind of a bummer that the dirty sounds in the Mach 3 are sub-par, it’s still a very flexible, useful amp with the right pedals.
