    Just to make sure people dont get the wrong impression. I'm very excited about SoD and im going to be playing the shit outta it! But i'm not afraid of voicing my concerns, i know we dont REALLY know anything about SoD yet. But by voicing our speculations and concerns, it gives Blizzard a chance to react if there are oversights they havnt thought about. :)

    One thing i want to mention is that the phases are a great idea. Alot of my friends wont be able to catch up. The ability of them to take a break and come back a month later makes a ton of sense to me.

    in my perfect WoW hunters have two charges of a dodge roll like Monks did that makes their next few autos shoot faster, because this is an agility class, not a physical ranged turret

    My guess would be, that they have to stick to the talent tree because of the client. Every vanilla "version", Era, HC, SoM/SoD use the same talents. So, it's probably easier for them to add a new system that is exclusiv for SoD.
    That way they keep the vanilla client "clean" and can throw away/rework the new system as much as they want.

      I disagree. They stick with it because it's an easy way to say they stuck to vanilla. Adding more spells/runes is an easy way of saying "we kept vanilla but added more stuff"

    Very good video! If they introduce resillience im out. The runeswapping bullshit is also something that needs to be more punishing. We already have so much swapping and adding more just makes the game less fluent. Great point also about adding things instead of fixing existing problems. I really hope that people voice thier opinions and that blizzard nerf shit because the power creep will ruin this game. How are they gonna compensate our hp compared to damage now? The vanilla pvp is allready super bursty. My fear is that they will indeed take the lazy route and itroduce resilliance.

      I don't think resillance is enough. They will have to globally cut down PVP by 25% damage.

    First, when you talk about balance in Vanilla, I have no idea what you are talking about 😂. Second, fixing talents is a shit show I have seen being implemented during the different expansions because they can actually break the game, which happened multiple times in the past. Their approach is better. They nerfed some of the runes already. I have seen a lot of people misunderstanding what Blizz is currently doing and would be very hard to explain at this point. They have put some actual thought into this, so wait and just play it. I can't actually wait for it.

      The way these runes are implemented are going to ruin the game. I don't know how or why but there will be an interaction at every phase that will break the game. I am excited to find out what that is and looking forward to it. Currently thinking warrior. (Sleeper tho)😊

      Couldn’t disagree more. The expansions - at least by the final end-patch, were extremely balanced.
      Wrath through the middle of Legion had very good class scaling and balance appropriate for the content available.
      The problem is just as the video describes, Runes are no question a buff across the board in power to everyone. No matter what gets nerfed, the content will be easier.
      Vanilla WoW raids were not designed around classes having MoP levels of abilities and extra power. So unless you tune up the raid bosses, the game will be extremely imbalanced.

    I think useless talents and bad gear are healthy to the classic image that alot of mmos failed.
    Swapping in between combat is a bad idea. Should be more restrictive.

    I've never understood why people think vanilla was superior. Like you described, half the talents are worthless. A quarter of the specs are worthless.
    This was a good idea to make vanilla not so dreadful, but blizzard cant fix their own game after a decade, so I doubt they can do it now.

    Nice vid. A little bit doomer but you are right. Vanilla had a lot of useless talents and bad ability design. I believe they are open to changing quite a lot but remember SoD is the Classic+ Beta.

      I'm very excited but the way the runs are Implemented they are doomed to have 1 or 2 specs vastly superior to everything else

    I'm torn about resilience. Agree about homogenization. I think they should have runes that adjusting the talent itself is a good idea or just patch up talents baseline. I completely agree about the class and ability design just having flaws. It's bad scaling. Serpent sting not scaling, pets not scaling. Dot classes like spriest are terrible victims to it. 2h enhance having inconsistent dps. There's still how bad some classes rotations are. I do think in another version they wouldn't reuse the runes system. It would be baked into the class or talents.
    Regarding gear swapping. The runes shouldn't go on the gear. So like whatever armor you have on, the rune is there. You always have to swap the runes with like a 5 or 10 second cast time. Maybe also not allowing rune swapping after the BG begins

      About resilience i feel like it forces ppl to use only pvp specefic items in pvp. But one of the great flavers of vanilla is that you can mix and match from a great varity of gear and still perform very good in all aspects of the game. But i agree with you on the rest!

      ​@@shjelde660totally agree! All parts of the game should interact with eachother, it's a damn mmo! I am even of the opinion that there should be no pvp rewards to encourage actual pvp for those who like it.

      PVP is screwed. Either way resillance won't change much. Would be cool to see armor tabs tho that didn't take up space

    why do all these "youtubers" have no clue about classic. you already had pvp and pve sets due to +healing or +dmg gear and or resistance pieces.

      yes i know, but thats besides the point. My hunter ofc has a full frost resistance set for Naxx. Thats fine, but saying that i HAVE to use only 1 set for pvp eliminates alot of options when it comes to gearing and ultimately funnels the game into "either you use pvp gear in pvp or you lose". Thats largely what happned in TBC and beyond. Until blizzard realized this in (legion i think) that this really limits player option and excitment about gear combinations. So they removed it and the game was better for it IMO

    Yep, you nailed it...Its perfectly fine to design a skill with limited use and that is why we call them niche, or niche gear.
    I have to assume most WoW players have never played a season or league in another game before because yous all have this massive concern that its some how going to break the game.
    The game will be perfectly fine on NON seasonal servers, so stop worrying so much, enjoy and have fun when it launches.

      I strongly disagree hunters might be pve and PVP kings for phase 1
