Love the DIY brush scrub tray - such a genius idea!

Just tried this tip, worked like a charm for me!!! The brushes feel so clean and the bristles are still soft and doesn't feel dried out. The make up came off very easily and quickly. I used normal shampoo and rose water mixed with warm tap water. I didn't have a board or a hot glue gun so I just used my palm instead. Thank you for sharing your tips Ann! Saved me so much time, hassle and money!

The timing of this was perfect! I just had a powder foundation break open on my makeup bag and now I need to clean everything

I saw at Dollar Store a rubber or silicone half hand oven mitt? I think that's what it's called it's in the kitchen accessories section. I bought that and use that as my brush cleaner with my soap. it works great might want to try it.

Great hacks! I like the tip to add tea tree oil. To help dry my brushes after cleaning, I usually roll them up in a dry hand towel and leave to dry with the bristles facing down so the water doesn't soften the glue that holds the bristles.

Just finished trying this, it worked so well! For the scrub tray, though, instead of using a separate tray, I just used the top of the lid to the container I put the brush cleaner in! Saves space and guarantees that they'll be stored together. (: thanks for this great DIY!

I also didn't have tea tree oil,so I used extra virgin olive oil and it still worked out great

Don't forget about your sponges! I took Zabrena's advice and work a little bit of oil into the sponge before washing it with soap. (I use almond oil and baby shampoo because that's what I have, but you can use whatever you've got!) It works wonderfully.

love the hot-glue brush scrub!! but do you keep them this way or take the glue off eventually? and maybe dry the brushes somewhere else except bathroom? where is the most moist and germ gathered place. (also try hair elastics instead of foam? so you can hang much more brushes on 1 hanger) :)
