I have the same Toro mower except mine came with the 6.0 Ah battery. I'm able to do my 6000 sqft lawn and still have 2 lights left but mine almost never needs to kick into the extra power mode. So I expect I could do 8000-10,000 sqft if it wasn't overgrown.
After trying the Ego last season and returning it, I plan to keep this Toro

I bought the non-propelled 60v recycler yesterday. My St Augustine plugs from May that are almost all the way filled in now became too much grass for my Kobalt mower I bought a few years ago. The 60V bull handled my 5,000 sq ft with ease.

Purchased mine 3 months ago for my Saint Augustine grass and I love it. I was a little hesitant... battery powered mower come on really...but works great. I have little less than a 1/3rd ac. I start with the 2.5 and do as much as I can and then switch over to my 6 AH and double cut everything with those 2 batteries, bagging. When I mulch I can only double cut the front of my yard and single cut the back, uses considerable more battery. Great mower, now we just need to super recycler in a battery mower!

I took electric commercial last season and haven’t looked back! Extra batteries are a must but it’s so much quieter, smoother and I can lift it in and out of the truck alone. I’m using Kobalt’s 40v push mower and Black & Deckers 20v string trimmer, hedge trimmer and chainsaw. I don’t need the gas trimmer until I get really heavy stuff. I still use the gas blower but I think the battery blowers are going to catch up in the next couple years. Electric is here and it’s only getting better!

I’ve had my Toro 60V for over a year now. I took your advice, bought it online and specified a local Toro dealer when I made the purchase. That was good advice as there was a minor problem when it arrived. The dealer fixed it on the spot. They had not even seen the 60V until I brought mine in! I have the smaller 324 ah battery, total 1,600 sq ft tall fescue, cross cut each time is 3,200 sq ft and gets it done on two bars. The only issue I have, similar to your zoysia - need a Super Recycler! If I let that lawn go one week without mowing it’s 8”+ high, thanks too all those great GC products. So my only request is not another mower review, but could you ask Toro to make a battery Super Recycler, pleeeeeease! 😊
Also, if too hot in the garage, you can take the battery into your air-conditioned home to charge. Somewhere out of the way, as it does hum while charging.

I know this is an older video, but a 60v Super Recycler has hit the market recently. It’s even in black. So now there needs to be a review of the newest electric Toro. Those guys never sleep. I'm in Tampa and haven’t found an electric that can really hack my St Aug. I currently mow with a gas Super Recycler thanks to your reviews from several years ago but I'm very interested in electric. Keep up the good work.

I owned this mower......I returned it after 5 weeks of cutting. The mower doesn’t have enough sucking power. I can post a video. There was lots of returns of this mower at Home Depot in my local area. Also I live like a few blocks away from Toro head quarters. I went with a Honda gas mower now, it’s 10 times the power. Tried the 7.5 amp battery as well. I’m in MN. The mower has a design issue technically, well not a design issue but an uncontrolled speed issue (over drive) where the mower goes into high mode if you throw to much at it, but this kills battery fast. Second thing is over drive kicks in when your all the way down on the push. I’ll post a video soon if anyone wants to see it. I wouldn’t recommend it, sorry I tried cutting leaves up and it was horrible. Maybe if you live in FL where there no leaves buy it but a maple get gas.

Personally I'm not sold on battery powered mowers. Mostly because the battery life is a problem. I have an empire zoysia lawn and would need to have two batteries just to get through one mow and ever time I go to lowes or home depot I always see at least half a dozen of them returned for one reason or another. Ultimately I will stick with my craftsman m230 cuts great and is half the price.

I've got a Snapper XD 82v 21-inch Deck Self Propelled which came with two batteries. Bought it with an 82v Leaf Blower so now I have three batteries. Each battery can do 3000-3500 sq.ft. so my 7500 sq.ft. yard takes 2.5 batteries (thick and tall KBG). With three batteries, I get continuous run time even if a battery overheats. Personally, I think it was nicer than the EGO, but that Toro gets my vote for the washout port!!!

I actually use an old recycler professionally because I mow steep slopes and need something lighter than my exmark 21 inch beast. My recycler is an older unit and had the baby Kohler on it when I got it. But that wasn’t enough power. So I tried a gcv160 Honda and the air filter clogged too often and also not enough power. Then I tried an old flat head Briggs motor and that had enough power but I still wanted something lighter. I noticed your recycler is older like mine and has the flat head Briggs on it, man those are stone reliable torque monsters. I got a Troy built mower with the newer Briggs exi OHV engine in on trade. So I swapped that onto the recycler. Now it’s light and powerful. Lighter than the gcv160 and as powerful as the big 190cc Briggs flat head! Love my recycler because I can cut 6 inch tall Bermuda now with the side discharge shoot on at the second to lowest setting and it powers right through it ♥️I actually also use it on the highest setting on my neighbors st augustine mulching and it powers right through that too.

I got me a Snapper 60V lawn mower about a year and a half ago. It's not as high tech looking as this Toro but it "does the job". Cuts the grass. Since then I've always wondered if you'd switch to battery powered lawn mowers. In my opinion they're alot simpler to work with, no gas or oil needed. But I think they need some time before the performance matches up to gas.

Hey Lawn Care nut, I’m fully geared with electric lawn gear (Ryobi 18V, 5000sqft lawn). I have really enjoyed the experience, but a must have is multiple sets of batteries so you dont have to wait for the charge. It’s also helps to keep your batteries inside, it will help the overall health and longevity of the batteries (I’m a EE, so speaking from experience). Glad you gave electric a try, I can appreciate your preference for gas. Would love if you could make it out here to Tallahassee some time and help me with my centipede lawn. Thanks!

Hi Allyn. I know this was a long time ago but this was a great review. Both a friend and my brother are looking for a battery powered system. Very precise demo. Thank you

I have thew Green Works 80v 21" Mower and Trimmer/Weed Eater. I'd like to see the comparison on that , I have a 4200 Sq Ft Yard and have no problem cutting my yard on one charge Large Battery. I also cut my neighbors yard every other week all in the same day. Side note I don't have the charging heat issue that you experienced so after the 1 hour charge I was able to complete her yard as well.

Regulators! Mount up! Loved the intro! I'm all for gas mowers too, because my lawn is larger than yours, but the electric mowers are intriguing. Fun video as always!

I believe That flap in the back has an open hole at the tailing edge you can put a piece of 1/4 inch rebar in it to weight it down for better striping

My neighbor has one and it cuts better than my z335e. They seem to have the same issue with running out of juice, but they’re usually back out in an hour to finish up. They also have the advantage of less weed whacking due to being able to get into corners.

@@Thelawncarenut How come you don't have any videos on what to do after you've applied the weed killers? Just back to watering as normal? Maybe throw down fert?
Im due east of you and under a fert ban as well. Just killed off a bunch of weeds. So no N or P for me. Just wondering thanks.

I have that. It's great and all but has virtually no lift. For zoysia and Bermuda I'm sure that's fine but for fescue in the northeast, it misses so many blades it's ridiculous. Anything that isn't already standing up just doesn't get cut
